  1. Side-by-side from what I know often relates to the Visual C++ runtimes redistributables. Keeping those up to date can be cumbersome since there's so many versions now and for a 64-bit OS you need both the 32 and 64 bit runtimes for 32 and 64 bit programs respectively. One of the forums I frequent has a repacked version which first uninstalls all found versions and then installs the latest thus simplifying the process - > http://db.tt/Rh0wVGXU (It can be extracted with Winrar or similar, then just run x64.bat and press Y to confirm, you can open bat files in notepad if you want to check the script yourself but it's safe and easy to use.) Don't have this game myself so I don't know about other requirements but it could also be a .Net issue though if so you usually get a different error message and I'm not aware of any "Eroge" actually using .Net Give the repacked redistributable I linked to a try and see if that fixed it, I'm using them myself. (They are from a Windows forums and a thread about updates for the OS, again it's safe to use and just check the batch / .bat files yourself if you want to see how it works.)
  2. Got a e-mail saying this was ready for download so I guess the full game is released now. EDIT: Patch for the disc version, adds subtitles to the epilogue (100% completion.) movie, it's not needed for the download version which is already up to date. http://jastusa.com/blog/2013/08/30/yumina-update-patch-available/
  3. One of the more expensive MangaGamer titles although file size was 3.1 GB so I assume it's also a rather lengthy game but other than what I've read on the Mangagamer blog (Which is mostly the various characters personal backgrounds.) I don't know much about the game, I like the art though. Unsure about copy protection and such matters but it's probably the same as the other recent MG releases so it might take a few extra days before it's removed but I wouldn't know the details on how that works, I do however prefer to have the game DRM free although the online activation so far has worked fairly reliably which is surprising. Oh and yeah it's nice to see more titles that are a bit more story involving than the recent "Nukige" releases. (No idea what that word actually stands for but it seems to be encompassing games which are primarily about the sex scenes which can be nice but I personally prefer story content.)
  4. Download Microsoft AppLocale Utility from Official Microsoft Download Centre Download it, install and start it and then drag the game exe on top of that first window where it asks about a file, in the second window where you choose a locale choose the most bottom one if it's not already detect and pre-selected. Then create a shortcut to the exe and in the future start the game via that shortcut. Depending on the game it might either require Japanese locale either via this program or set from the control panel as per above or it might work but there's usually some text display issues. (It varies from game to game, some don't start at all, others start fine but display broken text and some work just fine.) Has worked on everything so far, program is also compatible with anything after Windows XP though W7 already has a pretty good system localization setting by default. (But I prefer this program to setting the OS locale since that also messes up various letters and other characters / and \ for example and yeah it's pretty minor but I'm still bothered by it. )
  5. There's a torrent up on Nyaa as well, can be merged together since it's the same files thus giving better speeds. As for translation quality it seems a number of patches are planned already and a second translation might also be made but I'm not too bothered personally since I've played trough most of the initial MangaGamer releases so I'm used to it. (Not much could be worse than the "translation" of those games such as Sandwiched Between My Wife and Her Sister, ha ha.) (Shame not all the games got the updated translation treatment but I guess the probably rather few sales wouldn't have justified such a effort, unfortunately but understandable.) EDIT: Well at least Mangagamer isn't cutting content such as Jast have done, at least not yet. (And I believe this particular game is only published by them, editing, translation and other work is done by MoeNovel.) EDIT: Translation seems OK so far, of course "so far" is about five minutes into the game and the character being attacked by a duck or at least something resembling a duck, hah. EDIT: Still not out of what seems to be the introduction of the game (No choices so far either, guy woke up after a dream and went shopping which introduced yet another girl.) pretty long intro but so far the game seems to be pretty good, translation still seems quite good but I have no idea what's edited, re-translated or just slightly changed from the original script. http://s19.postimg.org/50eisin4v/Adv_HD_exe_2013_07_15_11_40_45_049.png http://s19.postimg.org/wc9rturvj/Adv_HD_exe_2013_07_15_11_41_49_784.png http://s19.postimg.org/mg8ou7m3j/Adv_HD_exe_2013_07_15_11_42_59_396.png http://s19.postimg.org/6xb8x3dsv/Adv_HD_exe_2013_07_15_11_45_42_802.png http://s19.postimg.org/7ybhm7usf/Adv_HD_exe_2013_07_15_11_47_47_614.png http://s19.postimg.org/x6wbfvzq7/Adv_HD_exe_2013_07_15_11_48_32_407.png
  6. I assume you can once again merge the games together into a larger single "quest", I got pretty far into the previous two titles but it gets a bit repetitive to first lose every fight and then replay and win since I'm trying to complete these game to 100% which means acquiring all CG images and such. (Those AliceSoft dungeon titles were even worse though, gathering all those items and going through hundreds of fights, somehow I managed to complete it.)
  7. I don't remember Chain as being censored? I know Jast has previously had some titles modified such as XChange 3 (One of the endings featured a small girl which was altered.) and Family Project (Which after the discussion that sparked they were more open with what alterations had been done to the games.) but I don't think this game had any cuts or at least I don't remember any, Eve Burst Error had the sex scenes removed but from what I've read the story wasn't affected much at all by that decision. (Compared to the cuts Hirameki did for their AnimePlay series were entire routes were removed.) EDIT: Ah the preview image shows a censored picture (I believe that scene is animated.), there might have been one or two scenes with pixelated features come to think of it but they were fixed in the update released shortly after the game came out. http://www.jastusa.com/shop/chain.html (As can be seen from the one erotic image there's no censoring on the game.) EDIT: Oh I think I remember now, even with the patch the affected scenes starts out pixelated but as soon as the animation begin it's removed and displayed uncensored.

    Yandere

The patch is a full replacement of data.xp3 which contains most of the game, thus the file size. As for the game I finished everything that seems to be translated for now unless I missed some specific combination of choices leading to some special scenes. (There were a few small variations in some of them - one even got the main guy killed in a bad-end like way, though avoiding death seems difficult so far.) That teacher seems like the most normal of these three so far, but I'd imagine she too gets pretty messed up (Even more than how it was towards the end of the translated routes.) just like the other two. Short game and the "Yandere" thing is taken to the extreme but I had fun with it although some scenes can be a bit brutal. (And the main character is a bit of a idiot whom only noticed something being a bit off near the end of the game, ha ha.)
