  1. That's an unreasonable viewpoint. First of all, it is Fruitbat Factory, aka Fluffy, who are the ones licensing Little Busters for official release, not Doki. Fruitbat Factory are the ones who initiated and underwent negotiations. Placing all of the blame on Doki feels really misguided. I also very heavily doubt that Doki adopted the project from Fluffy with the intent to stall it until they could sell it. I mean, it's not even them who are selling it. They did say that they were in negotiations with Key for the last year, but in that stage you really can't talk about anything. There are NDAs involved and in general you're not supposed to talk about ongoing business negotiations.

I know I'm sounding like a hardcore white knight with so many posts in defense of this but there seems to be a whole lot of misconceptions flying about right now about pretty much everything to do with this.

It is true that those who translate a VN have no obligation whatsoever to be nice and finish what they started. But even though this is true, let's say a VN that you like gets picked by a translator, in most cases if a VN is already translated by someone no one else will start to translate the same thing. But if that translator in the meanwhile gets bored or who knows what and the translation is canceled, in a few cases the VN is finished by somebody else but usually it will be forever and ever and ever be an unfinished crap. Also, it is possible that if that translator wouldn't have started translating that VN then somebody else might have already finished it.

a few ex. of VN that i either wanted to play or played and then banged why head to the wall knowing that it will never be translated, or at least not until the least of my wories will be what kind of VN to play:

    Fortune Arterial

Yoake Mae yori Ruri Iro na

    Aiyoku no Eustia

I don't say that they did bad but sure as hell didn't to good either. My opinion, to every single translator, they do some really boring job, and a very good thing for us who don't speak and read japanese, full respect to them. But to those who are promising this and that and after a while get bored, and stop translating, well, to those i say, get your shit together and do something to earn some respect and if not get your stuff and get the heck out of the translation "business" cuz because of your halfasness a VN that might have had a chance to be translated might never be.

  2. It costs half as much, for one...

I don't know, the problem with me is that i always want to get the whole experience, if there is an 18+ version, than i wanna play that even though i usually skip right through it, but still, i wanna now that it is me who decides whether or not not read that shit. I don't say that what they did is necessarily bad, but totally reminds me of EA and his storm of DLC's. In my opinion, if you consider the art the script the BGM and a lot of smaller things that makes a VN asking for the same price just for the voices, seems illogical, maybe a 25% plus. Just to feel that even though you paid more you still made a good purchase, and you also had the opportunity to choose between to two. But if they had in mind this "strategy" they should have asked 30 for the voiceless and 40 with the voices and not 20 and 40. This is totally my opinion of course.

  3. The Little Busters release will use Doki's existing translations.

What the heck man, so they took the fan made translation, they removed the adult content, they translated 2 more words and kaboooom here comes LB with + content. So they did nothing and gained something.

You know, i always wanted to make a gaming company if things are going like this, might i get in line ? I will start with all the fan translated VN's, how about that ;) ? If only i wouldn't have to convince the game companies that originally made the games.

  4. God, this LB announcement really pisses me off. I know they don't technically owe anyone anything, but I've been holding off on playing LB for about 4 years now, waiting on the 18+ translation, then they just pull this all-ages bullshit.

Fuck that. Could have just fucking played the base game. What a fucking joke.

I agree with you to a certain point. What i don't understand, is that why in the world would anyone translate the same thing all over again with a little bit of plus content what was translated and played already by pretty much everyone who cared to try it out. Also, sorry, i don't see any reason at all to support dumb people, who would translate the same thing all over again especially if they don't release an 18+ patch, though LB is not that big of a problem, if it where an Eushully title they would have to remove half the content :p

I can't be the only human that actually liked F/SN's Hscenes, am I? o_O

Nope, for me Rin's sex scenes was the funniest and i enjoyed it in a different kind of way.

Looking back on it, it would have been a real shame to remove the 18+ content.

  5. so i am guessing LB perfect edition will not have h scenes like ecstasy. darn i am not a huge fan of all ages novels. though thats not because of no h scenes. i just thnk in a choice of the same game with or without h scenes i would rather have them in. other thatt that glad to see progress on these projects.

yup, if its an all age novel no problem but playing an all age when an 18+ exists it just seems wrong.

  6. man, i wish there were more RPG VN's, hitting the space bar or clicking with the mouse just to read is sooooooo boring especially if the VN is your average nonsense, practicly the same thing all over just under a different name and package.

also, i'm very curious about Seinarukana, though the first one was very good, it was a bit of a letdown that they removed the adult content, though i haven't finished the game and the reason for it was that i had to start from the beginning for every character and so every battle and so on, and man that took a heck of a lot of time so in the end i think i finished 2 route, and while i think the story was pretty good, heck if i play the same boring battles over and over and over and over again, no chance in heaven that i'm gonna do that. still, gonna give the second one a chance that's for sure.

  7. Irotoridori no Sekai looks a bit interesting based on the description, the rest, i'm not even remotely interested, the VN's are good for their story, if you take that away or in this case start to translate something that probably won't even be read or played by 10.000 people, that in my opinion is a total waste of time, well, almost total waste of time, shouldn't forget the minority, anyway, i don't care about what kind of VN is as long it has some kind of story which is not total crap, heck, even MGQ has a decent story even though it's a total nukige. I would also want to mention that i know that it is not really my place to criticise anyone who translates no matter what that is considering that i don't support any of the translating teams with anything at all, i'm just pissed off about the fact that yandere translation dropped Aiyoku no Eustia for almost 3 years now, and nothing interesting comes out nowadays.

  8. Hyro, you should remove Dysfunctional Systems from the list - that kickstarter failed miserably.

that it did and after few or dozen canceled translations now a game which looked kind of interesting was canceled altogether.

don't know how much support will they get after this from the kickstarter community but i wouldn't get my hopes up in their stead, wish the best for them and no more unfinished games.

  9. It's legit, looks like they're shooting for this Friday.

There are just two things i dislike in hollow ataraxia so far, the first is the lack of voices though i can live with that, the second is the character https://vndb.org/c35 now usually i either like a character or not, but her i just hate .... a lot.

I just wan't to mention that i hate her from fate stay night cuz she's a whiny bitch and other obvious reasons which i won't mention it now but for those who played the first game i'm sure they know what i'm talking about. Anyway, it's a good thing they could finish the translation and editing this year, congrats to the team who made it happen.

  10. It's not like it's ongoing QC, it's just the project leader right now has it stalled and is trying to find some motivation to finish it up.

the first VN i have ever played was Aiyoku no Eustia, when i downloaded it from piratebay at the time not even Fione's route was translated although that i figured just after playing it for some time and reaching to where everything was in japanese, since then i try to never play a VN that is not translated end edited completely cuz there might be a slight chance that i like it and a high chance that it will never be completely translated.

  11. supipara looks OK, but I also have to agree reading a VN with no H always makes me feel like i'm getting jipped with missing content for some reason.. even if it was all-ages to begin with

    oh well

nah, don't have any problem playing all-ages as long as the original is all-ages as well.

but i do hate for ex. that the guys from JAST removed the H-contents from Aselia even if they added some more story and whatnot which wasn't included previously.
