^This is both true and false. If the ending comes soon after "boom" (like in FSN), the ending doesn't need to be that badass because the part that was meant to be the most thrilling is already left behind and the story ends soon anyway. BUT, if the climax takes place and the ending isn't even close (Ever17), it really makes the readers wait for something epic at the end (and disappoint them when it doesn't happen).

@harlequin, couldn't have said it better but i'm quite surprised that you didn't like that one guy (hint: i'm not talking about shinji). he did so well in UBW and HF routes that i really started to like him

well, this game was pretty good fap material but the story and gameplay were horrible. the basics of the story were excellent and with some effort the game and the anime would have had chances to be very high quality. too bad the current plot was boring and predictable

if i recall right you need to finish the extra stories from main menu -> you get an extra scene for those CGs edit. aww, wasn't fast enough

I had Ever17 installed on my laptop for almost 6 months but didn't have time to play it. Now that i finally had enough time i'm very happy i played it. Storywise it's probably the best i've seen so far and a couple of the soundtracks (karma and der mond das meer+the lullaby) were awesome. After seeing the ratings from vndb and the good and bad ending from tsugumi route my expectations for the rest of the VN were maybe a LITTLE too high and i couldn't enjoy the 3 other routes as much as i wanted, even though especially sora and sara's routes were pretty good. But then the true route came and saved my day. Ever17 is so far the 2nd story that has made me cry (the 1st being Clannad anime), and i have to say that is really something. Too bad there was one thing that i didn't like in the true ending route: there wasn't really any kind of climax phase in the story. If there was, it would be that one heartwarming scene (i'm not gonna spoil anything), but it was far too early. I waited and waited for some über ending to pop up but it didn't and i was quite a bit dissappointed. Nevertheless, Ever17 deserves a place in my top 3 VN rankings. With a better ending it would have easily been #1, but even with the current ending it gets to share the 2nd place with FSN. That being said, i DEMAND that the company that made the xbox version of Ever17 last year make a PC version out of it. The opening of that version is totally out of this world and it seems there are even some new scenes and CG in it.

1. Aoishiro 2. Fate/stay night 3. Edelweiss Yes, that's right, Aoishiro. I know it has some flaws, but the plot and the artwork are something totally astounding. If I were to give overall points for Aoishiro and FSN, FSN would get higher points (maybe 9,5) than Aoishiro (9+), but I still like Aoishiro more despite its cons.
