Yes he sent them a email saying that it was awesome what they were doing. Then last year he meet with the head of Witch-Hunt at a Convention in France and they had dinner and talked together at a panel.

WOAH do not watch the anime anymore. The mess up and 2 routes of Kai are in Season 1 of the anime. So if you watch it you might get spoiled I believe episode 16+ (Not sure)

Yes, Higanbana actually is really dark as well but its a series of short stories and not going to lie 1 or 2 of the stories are very very badly done in my opinion. But all of the dark ones are good its the happy ones I dont like the most lol.

The VA for Umineko are very well done. I only read Ryukishi novels the way he released them just because I love how he draws the characters himself. I know its obviously not as good but it just puts me in the mood if that makes sense. Then you need to play Higanbana

Damn it ummm fine play Higurashi first. It has some references in Umineko. I like Umineko more but both are good IMO. You can read Umineko without reading Higurashi so its up to you.
