Another good visual novel for newbies would be hinatabokko. Short, not to deep and enjoyable (not awesome though).

I've to agree here. It was sometimes just way too much. Oh and I didn't like the ending btw.

I liked the story and setting of swan song, especially the awesome character development of that guy with glasses, but whatever.

... but sadly a lie. You can't learn the japanese language by just reading anime subs. And if you think so then try to read some japanese visual novels.

I second this. I expected dramatic stuff but KS turned out to be a slice of life game.

And what if the person has no intention of turning on the light? Oh and playing stuff without having another light besides your computer one sucks pretty hard anyway.

You'll be fine as long as you don't set your volume to something ordinary high. And you could disable your speakers during a h so nobody would know what you're doing.

Aren't we a little bit harsh today? I don't think that she pretends to be weak and stuff, it's just that, she actually IS weak. And why is she a slut? She's actually the person that would anything for her loved ones. Seriously, nagisa's not a bad person, she's just not my cup of tea. But whatever, you're of course free to hate her. It's just that I personally hate to hate...yeah...

Isn't it actually the other way around? If you're using headphones while playing a visual novel then you start to ignore the sounds around you so that you won't realize when somebody visits your room...right?
