Wow, sounds like most everyone here is some kind of ninja when it comes to hiding their eroge time. As for me, my brother has seen me playing through some non-ero scenes in various games, and the last time it happened he laughed and said, "Hey, is that... hen-tay or whatever?" I just about flipped my laptop over because I didn't think he knew such a thing existed; apparently somebody from his high school told him about it for some reason. I just pretended not to know what he was talking about and told him that I was essentially reading an 'anime book' and he wandered off. It was a close call..

If you played the original four .hack games, you'll recognize this one. It's been my wallpaper for years now. Low res, unfortunately...

I went back and dug this out of the pile of unreplied topics because it deserves to be on the first page of this section. This is definitely my #1 VN. If you somehow haven't played this one, then I would suggest that you get it, sit on it and don't play it for a while so that you can anticipate it, and then play it. It's one of those experiences that is best the first time around, and when it's over you'll wish it wasn't. The UBW route is the best VN story I have ever read, and one of the best stories I have read period.

This game should come with the disclaimer that you shouldn't play it for the first time if you have anything important coming up in the next week (or at least several days). It's like Skyrim was for so many people; it sucks you in and doesn't let you go for a while. That being said, if you haven't played this yet, then you truly are missing something amazing.

I played this whole game through in one night. I did not sleep well.

No matter whether you saw Maou being his brother or not, that ending was pretty undescribably good. The cop interrogation scene with the insert song was too epic as well.

Very, very good thread! Just as an FYI, the translations of Rance 3 and maybe 4 are halted indefinitely because the translator disappeared with all of the translated script several months ago. Go check the rance translation project forums if you're curious. First post FTW
