  1. How has nobody posted in this thread yet? Surely there's somebody other than me who thought, "Yes! I know exactly what he's talking about!!" when they read the opening post lol. Anyways, that's an amazing experience, eh Haika? I haven't played Deardrops yet (it's sitting on my portable hard drive in line behind Kamidori and all the other games I have yet to play lol), but now I'm looking forward to it much more than I was before reading your reaction. To answer the questions at hand, I had a similar experience while I was playing Fate/stay night and I was going through the Unlimited Blade
  2. Sometimes it's just impossible to figure out the best order to play the routes. This is part of the reason G-Senjou was so good-- all you had to do was go down a new route every time it was presented to you, and you automatically save the main heroine's route (the best one in that game IMO) for last.
  3. Tsundere lovers should vote on the personality poll instead of this one, but the closest thing to tsundere here is the 'other' category. More importantly, you should pretty much vote childhood friend (if I say this enough times, surely somebody will come and bring the loli dominion back to a stalemate lol)
  4. I want this game (and I will probably pick it up this weekend) but I'm already playing Koihime Musou by myself, MW3 with friends every other day, I put Skyrim on hold but I should really go back and play it some more, I have 2 lists of VNs and anime to consume and both are a mile long, and of course I have to keep my GPA where it should be for 4 lectures and a lab. Not to mention I haven't played Mass Effect 2 in a long time and I really should go play it again to remember what's going on lol. If only I didn't need to sleep!
  5. I like black, yellow (read: blonde), pink, and grey. For some reason, full on white doesn't look as good to me as a silvery grey. My favorite color is green, but I haven't yet found a good girl with green hair lol
  6. ^^ Following Haika, Koihime Musou is good as a VN (the home base phase scenes, both the H and normal ones, are great), but the gameplay elements are very watered down, so if you're hoping for lots of gameplay time then this one probably isn't going to sate you. Tears to Tiara has markedly more involved gameplay, but the story tends to drag IMO. On another note, if you're feeling like playing just a VN with no gameplay, it doesnt get much better than G-Senjou. It's a must-play in my book. And don't worry about your thread placement, people just don't stick around these kinds of threads lol.
  7. The village that you live in burned you at the stake? Or maybe your family disowned you? lol
  8. My strategy to combat the spoilers is to watch the intro, then immediately start paying attention to what happens afterwards and don't think about what I just saw. That way, most of the things I saw slip out of my memory until I see the scene again, and then I'm like "Oh yeah! I remember this CG now." It's a pretty effective strategy
  9. Would it be legal for either side to use allies? Most childhood friends don't have Servants and the like, so I think that wouldn't be fair...
  10. I overslept and missed the first twenty minutes of my 8:00 a.m. class this morning, but the teacher didn't really care (thankfully). She had even brought brownies for the class. It's been a good day so far
  11. If you like monster girls (and aren't immediately opposed to watching your male MC being raped by them when you lose), then you must play monster girl quest. It's a game in the traditional RPG style, you get in fights, level up, learn new skills, and the like, and the story is really good too. The H scenes can be a mixed bag- some are really good, some are mediocre, some are creepy, some are weird, and some are unfappable lol. It all depends on what your tastes are. Part 1 is out and translated, and part 2 is out with a 66% translation patch right now, which could turn into a 100% translation
  12. ^ Good point. Though I've been here a while already, I never really did introduce myself, did I? On the outside, I'm just your average college student getting a degree in computer science from a locally prestigious university in the United States. On the inside, however, I'm a through-and-through japanophile who enjoys anime, manga, JRPGS, and, of course, visual novels and eroge of all sorts. This is one of the first forums I've ever been a member of, so go easy on me if I say something stupid! hehe
  13. I'm playing the game he's from right now (Koihime Musou) and I hate him because he's a good example of Japanese humor gone wrong. Because they turned a bunch of male characters from Romance of the Three Kingdoms into girls, they thought they should make one of the originally girl characters into a guy, which is funny to the japanese I'm sure, but it's more creepy to foreigners like me. It would help A LOT if he wasn't only wearing pink bikini bottoms and trying to act gay towards Kazuto (the MC) all the time. It's like I'm sitting there enjoying the scene and then this disgusting guy shows up
  14. ^ This is basically how I felt when I found Tsukihime in the early stages of my entry into VNs. 'Unlike anything I've read before' fits my feelings very well. That's a very interesting and somewhat convoluted journey to here lol, but we welcome you all the same! Also, I laughed while I read your description of the war over RapeLay; I don't know why, but it seems like that's the one and only game among many that is guaranteed to make the uninitiated angry.
  15. That's weird, I use AVG too and it hasn't ever thrown any false positives when I install/play games. Maybe I'm just lucky? Or maybe I just have a virus that disabled AVG and I don't know about it lol
  16. When I think of the stoic type, I think of a serious person, like a soldier. Saber from f/sn defines this archetype for me. Eccentric, on the other hand, is like Haru from G Senjou; there's just something strange about her.
  17. You're right, I didn't notice the 'other' category rising too... Either way, we of the childhood friends club will be victorious regardless of whether we have one enemy or two!
  18. Again, something is stopping the installation and the most likely suspects are compatability, access restrictions, or possibly messed up/corrupted files.
  19. @Nobu In my experience with playing these kinds of games, I've noticed that if you are having problems with the installer, than it generally means that you have access or compatability issues going on. A list of things that have solved problems for me in the past: -Make sure you are running the installer as an administrator if you're using vista or 7 -Make sure you are not only installing but that you extracted the game's .iso or files while your computer is in japanese locale -If the game is fairly old, try running the installer in compatability mode for XP (may not apply to this part
  20. It looks like your caps-lock induced rage made you accidentally mistype your previous post, so I went ahead and fixed it for you. You're welcome~
  21. Jeez... How did it come to this... Damn you loli lovers! ...but flat chests are good too.... ...no!! I won't be taken in by this!!
  22. Roguetranslator updated his blog on leap day (two days ago) with ~78% line count. He also mentioned that he may be going on another business trip soon... Last time he did that, all progress halted for a little more than two weeks... Perservering for another long period like that will drive me crazy lol
  23. That feeling is part of the reason why I take breaks between my VNs; the other part is that I need time to absorb everything that happened and store it in my memory properly. ^ And this is the reason why I'm purposefully saving some VNs that I really want to read. 'Saving the best for last', as they say.
  24. Thanks for the upload (and especially the torrent) Ivan! Looking forward to this one!
