Yes, I'm looking forward to GS vs. Layton as well, but I'm actually talking about the next entry for the series. Court-records.net had a post recently talking about how Capcom or some similar source revealed a new logo for GS5 (I know this sounds fuzzy, but the post got pushed back too far for me to check it again ). The information page lists GS5 having been "recently announced, but without any information on protagonist or system". Regardless of the lack of real info, at least the new logo indicates something is going on to do with #5.

Ah, those finnicky DS emulators... I had a lot of trouble playing DS games in the past, but here's the key to playing almost anything: get no$gba (the emulator), no$ZOOMER (add-on for the emulator), and copies of the NDS BIOS files, which include firmware.bin, BiosNds7.rom, BiosNds9.rom, and biosgba.rom. If you've got all of these things, you can launch the emulator using the NDS's 'operating system' and then select the game from the DS startup screen like you would if you were actually playing a real DS. I don't know how it is in other countries, but in the states, the association of anime with kids cartoons is too high for 'the average person' to consider watching anime and the like to be socially acceptable. Alright! This is turning out better than I expected. I like the sound of most of these recommendations, and right now I am leaning towards Koihime Musou for my next because I'm feeling like having some gaming elements in my next VN. I must've been feeling out of it when I made that list because I forgot to include Monster Girl Quest on it (part 2 is at 70%! can't wait), and I've also played Cosplay Fetish Academy as well. Yeah, that guy is pretty ridiculous for a pre-boss battle. If this is your first playthrough, just forget about points and let the game take four from you to make the battles easier. If this is at least your second playthrough and you actually care about points, you should probably be dungeon crawling for a while to level up your commanders; get a team of rance, kenshin, senhime, uruza, ai, and another backrow unit, and you should be able to push through. This! I hated Shinji very much! Every time he did something, I swear that Shirou always replied with "Shinji, omai!" or however you spell it, meaning that he was doing something to get in the way again. I'm actually glad to hear about girls that play these kinds of games too, because it's evidence that they aren't just about the H. There really isn't any reason why either a guy or a girl should dislike good stories, after all, and I think that's the primary reason why people on these forums play the games and write posts (I know that's my reason). Though, I can't deny I enjoy the H as well, so I wonder if the experience is different for girls? Do you tend to skip the scenes, or maybe just play all-ages versions? Of course, it's just fine if you enjoy the H as well too lol

Lol well 'most' is the key word here. Basically the kind of rape I really can't stand is one where the purpotrator degrades the woman by hurting her, treating her poorly, etc. or fails to take responsibility for what he did by running away or something along those lines. Rance (at least in Sengoku) seemed to take care of women pretty well and left all of Japan under good leadership, so I didn't really feel like he was a 'bad guy'. Also forgot to mention that tentacles aren't really my thing, but I don't really mind them either, so I'm basically neutral on that one.

It's been said but I agree: I tend to avoid older games simply because they tend to have poorer art. Also, NTR is a no-go, as is most rape.

^^ I've watched that so many times now, and the beginning scene from Outlaw Star with Gene saying 'space' sends chills down my spine every time. A boy really does have the right to dream.

So far, I've managed to clear all routes for all the VN's I've played, but I can imagine a time at which I might just let a route or two slip by if I wanted to move on to something else. My strategy is to stick with one VN and one nukige at a time, and complete one or both before I start something new. That way, I can alternate between the two if I want a break from one of them.

I'm in a good mood because classes are over for the day, I was thanked for some work I did, and I recently got all achievements for FF13-2, which almost makes up for getting all but two achievements for FF13.

I consider myself lucky that I can track the whole history of my journey to this point, but the short version is that I loved anime as a kid (R.I.P. Toonami), a friend of mine introduced me to manga in middle school, after I began looking at normal pr0n I stumbled upon doujins, which made me go looking for hentai videos, which led me to hentaifromhell.net (still visit here every day lol), and one day Caska made a post about Sengoku Rance. After I emerged from my room about a week later, I went looking for more and found Tsukihime, which was my first through-and-through VN. The rest is history.

I've learned to not try to make excuses about the past, to draw upon my confidence when I need it, and to never give up (of course). These are life lessons that everyone I know personally has missed out on learning somewhat. On a lighter note, I learned that it's okay to do certain things when I'm alone haha

Gaaaaaaaah!! ( That's extremely unfortunate for you that you couldn't hear the music!! The music was a big part of what made the game so interesting! The music that played around the mansion set the mood just perfectly, the sped up version for the school was an exact fit, the tracks that played for the supernatural parts was creepy, and the list goes on. I know this is just my opinion on the BGM, but I think you were cheated out of the experience by your pc lol.

I've accumulated 195 points and I'm proud of every last one. I've unlocked every CG and gotten every family bonus (including Takeda, but that one took some patience), and beaten every route. I've also beaten up to the two star difficulty and beaten Orochi (9999 f***ing hp); really the only thing left for me to do is to beat five star difficulty, but considering how hard two stars was, I doubt it's even possible hehe
