There are 2 routes, one is Alice route and the other is Ilias route. So you can say for sure that someone else is the bad guy this time [spoiler=MGQ Paradox a bit bigger spoiler but related to the other one] Also the Ilias that joins your party is the same one you fight at the end of MGQ 3 while Alice is and Luka are different people that were born in the world that paradox is set in.
