  1. @OMA Well, if they made it SOONER more people who were into Clannad may think "Oh, hey, another Key anime, I might give it a shot" for one. It is basic, really, that is why when one genre gets extremely popular, like dystopia recently in America, you see a sudden influx of books, movies, and other media based on it. And, in general, it works. People eat it up, resulting in even more money for companies and creators. (there are always exceptions, though. And sadly I know fans of Clannad who have said they will not watch this because "they got over Key anime years ago" or "It's not Clannad")
  2. Honestly I am surprised that they did not make one SOONER. After all the game seemed to be surprisingly popular, at least from what I could tell. And it is KEY, technically. Seemed like a missed no-brainer to me.
  3. ^AH, ok that made more sense. OELVNs have been around for a long while, but since KS has been out I have seen more interest in them because it was successful. (NaNoReNo, a VN version of NaNoWriMo, even seems to have more entries this year, and more promising ones at that) But the timing of it being announced after KS could be pure coincidence. Some people like to make part of their games before even announcing it, and others complete it before releasing it in beta. *shrugs* Who knows.
  4. I've been planning out a little game of my own for a few months now, nothing big. More or less just something fun and something I have wanted to see in VNs but have not found many of in the English translated ones or even in OELVN ones either (it's nothing really spectacular, in fact it is just a very small idea for something I enjoy). I've been ghosting and lurking in the scene for quite a few years now but it wasn't until December that I decided to give it a shot myself. It won't be an eroge, unfortunately, though if it gets any kind of following that wants some maybe later on. (I doubt it,
  5. For the most part those two are pretty light hearted and funny to read. I just couldn't think of any others at the time that would be close enough at the time. I can't believe I forgot MGITP though! That one IS very light hearted and fun to read!
  6. Hmn... between... 4-5 years I suppose? I have been playing visual novels longer, but it took me a while to get the courage to play an eroge.
  7. It doesn't annoy me so long as it is not for a game heavily based on story and (even then) does not give away the very end. Personally, I feel that it gives a great sneak peak and makes the potential players what to get to scenes they see. For example, the opening to Corpse Party. It spoils MANY of the bad endings, making you think characters that may survive will die, and it is not clear until you get your first bad end with one of those CGs that the opening doesn't really spoil much at all that way. However it does COMPLETELY spoil the ending of the first chapter, and taken out of context
  8. Well, that thread was burried back on page 3 so it is not surprising this was made again. And "eroge" is only one part of the medium, albeit a large part, so by calling it a "favorite VN" thread it actually opens it up to both eroge and work safe VNs. (The OP does say it doesn't have to be eroge, but they did not say it couldn't be either) ON topic: I have to say I have quite a few. Eroge: Yume Miru Kusuri, Saya no Uta, Kara no Shoujo, Fate/Stay Night Non-Eroge: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, Corpse Party, Ace Attorney series, Higurashi/Umineko no Naku Koro Ni This is just off the top o
  9. Well, given that you are looking for something very broad I don't know how good these suggestions may be. But I gave it a shot: Little Busters! Edelweiss (and Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia) Kira☆Kira (and Kira☆Kira Curtain Call) DearDrops Most games I play delve into drama at some point so not many are light hearted really. I think someone else may be able to help you more.
  10. Yep, I have bought quite a few (mostly OFF PC and very good ones). The industry does need all the support it can get... but a lot of what is translated officially is SEXSEXSEX so I only buy ones with higher reviews.
  11. @Zus, Ah, I see. I am using a Chromebook and they must have changed something because the last time I played this there was no "New Game" option when you press the "floppy disk icon" under the save option. (This computer is finicky and they updated the front page so it is possible this silly computer is finally displaying it properly)
  12. I'm actually waiting for School Days HQ eagerly. There is something about those bad endings that I REALLY want to be able to "play" through. I'm also looking forward to Yandere, Eroge! ~H mo Game mo Kaihatsu Zanmai~ (if only for the art style), and the full version of Air (I am a sucker for Key games, what can I say?).
  13. I generally use one for games with multiple routes or difficult to get scenes or gameplay. For example, I would have NEVER finished the true end of Kara no Shoujo without one, but I made it through Go! Go! Nippon with no issue because it is so clean cut and straightforward. I always like to try to go randomly first, play how I would play it before aiming for completion.
  14. I've been playing these for a while. They are GREAT and it is so much easier to play them here. The only issue I have is that, being how old they are, they can be a little annoying or tedious to get through. (3 Sisters Story is EXCEPTIONALLY annoying, having a pop up menu you have to clear multiple times to get anywhere)
  15. If you want to get a specific or the true ending? ... yeah, you might want one. It can be a bit difficult to do what you need at times, but it is worth it.
  16. I'll take whatever I can get, but so long as it has a decent story I am ok with it. I don't mind a lack of gameplay, but having some does make it more enjoyable, and I do like sexual content in the games so long as it does not overpower everything or feel shoehorned in (and even then I can just sit back and enjoy it).
  17. Normally I would say that this is an unnecessary question, for example if this was a general gaming forum... but given the medium I am not surprised someone brought it up. Eroge is, normally, aimed at guys and the only two officially translated otome games have been work safe (and only one or two TRIALS of 18+ otome games have been translated to my knowledge). Most people who play these games are, naturally, guys. But I know MANY women and teenage girls who play visual novels, myself included. They just aren't quite as vocal as I am because, generally, they stay away from nukige and loo
