I recently saw this scene in the visual novel, although it's been a while since I watched the anime. But what happened in the visual novel was Chisato texted Oojima asking where he was, to which he responded with a lie saying he was out with his mother, when in fact he was with his teacher. He did this in order to stop Chisato from pestering him about his whereabouts because she's possessive like that. The teacher isn't his mother, but the hugging and the text were probably why you're thinking that.

Nice anime so far. I enjoyed the long reference to the Da Capo II visual novel in episode 5; I'm certain there were many references to all sorts of visual novels that episode, but the others eluded me.

Confirmed via ANN too. Also mentions the anime will cover up until the current light novel volume, although ANN's wording was misleading by stating it will go all the way through the "final novel volume", implying the series is over when in fact the light novels are still ongoing.

For anyone interested, an X-Rated version of Da Capo 3 has been confirmed for near-future release here. At the time of this posting, Visual Novel Database has yet to list it. And as a reminder, the Da Capo 3 anime premieres Janurary 5th, 2013 - almost a week from today! ; )

Zaig is a dandere mermaid/merman that needs to be rescued by their hero. No comment...

I played through this game multiple times with a friend, but I don't think I could ever really get into it again, unless Atlus introduces a lot of new features now that they've bought it.
