I hope you're able to learn and get better. I definitely appreciate your willingness to improve and help the community. We need many people like that in order to grow and increase the amount of VNs being translated. But here's my philosophy: You should aim to improve your abilities before translating. Don't jump the gun. I know you're eager, and that's great, but jumping the gun like that can be a bad thing. We have plenty of time in our lives, no reason to rush so much. You can improve a whole lot just by continuing to study Japanese and English. It doesn't hurt to hold ourselves to a hig

Regarding Neko Para, I think each volume will contain a single complete story. Think of it as a route based game where each route is a different volume, I guess. They'll eventually cycle through most of the heroines listed here: https://vndb.org/v15538/chars#chars

There are more active fan translations nowadays than there has ever been, it seems. I believe the next twelve months are going to be much more active than the previous 12. It's just that average quality has gone to shit. Since a lot of the old guard are no longer in the fanTL scene, the biggest translation community is no longer tlwiki, who had at least moderate standards of quality and helped each other achieve them, nowadays it's Fuwanovel. As enthusiastic as they are, and as active as I am posting there, I'll admit the standards are pretty low. It seems like as long as it's not machine tran

They will be launching the Grisaia KS in a week or two. The point is, there actually is a limited pool of money in this market. Clannad could drain most of that pool before Grisaia even shows up. But the pool replenishes over time, which is why you should space your projects out. Granted, the Grisaia fanbase is also decently large and there's a concurrent running anime (although it may be a detriment at this point...), so I'm sure it will be successful as well, they will just make a lot less money on it than they otherwise would have. Koestl just said on 4chan that the Japanese companies a

They already said that the Grisaia KS will overlap with this. I dunno, this strikes me as a really bad idea to have their two biggest kickstarters run simultaneously. Like, an incredibly bad idea.

Just yesterday I was thinking "I bet someone is gonna start a Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai project soon!" because of the anime and all. Welp. Library Shepherd Seems to be pretty fast, too. Hopefully that will amount to something. Could even be the first completed August translation if they keep it up.
-
Well, if they're charging $40 for it, "partially successful" isn't really good enough. Anyways, while I don't know Japanese so I can't translate that line myself, I know that the "bring a feather" bit is an incorrect translation of a japanese expression that is basically "stretch your wings". The second sentence is basically telling the students to forget about the exams for the day and relax. As you can see, completely different meaning. Ultimately yeah, the story is powerful enough that even with bad translation it can be emotionally effective, but think about how much better it can be with

Most of it is readable, but there are a lot of really inaccurately translated parts, and some of it comes off as nonsensical. There were a bunch of examples posted at various places when the initial SP announcement was made, like the infamous feather line. I wish I could easily find them. It's the kind of thing where every so often you scratch your head and wonder wtf someone is actually trying to say or whatever. Even when you can make sense of it in your mind, it's usually pretty far off from the original text. Baka-tsuki does open wiki projects and a lot of people touched the Clannad tr

I am almost certain that they've abandoned doki completely. Whatever deal they may have had is no longer in effect due to the massive backlash against Doki's involvement. Sekai Project probably decided it would be best to turn around and hire a team to do a new translation from scratch.

You'd be surprised. Steam sales may not work great with MangaGamer's catalog, but they're an extremely effective way to increase revenue. With other kinds of games, discounting a game by 75% has been known to increase sales tenfold or more, which means more overall profit. I'm not sure a 50% launch discount is the smartest move, but their only successful Steam game so far (Go Go Nippon) sold a crapton of copies when it was discounted.

It's not something that will be easily available outside of Japan. I think for the time being they may only be selling the physical version at Comiket, but they may sell excess stock online. Keep an eye out, I guess.

The first editor has also already resumed work on the project so there are two active editors on koichoco now.
-
It's a pretty big bummer to see the project stall out halfway through the final, arguably easiest stage because the project leader doesn't feel very motivated. The only routes I'm interested in aren't in the partial.

Tears to Tiara II is PS3 exclusive in Japan as well. There is no PC version or any version with ero content at all.
-
Some guy has posted about it when asking for help unpacking some files on various forums but I didn't know he ever posted any sort of progress.

People think the girls are cute and the writing is funny. It's moege, the genre is all about fluffy stories without much substance for an excuse to put cute girls in comical and/or ecchi situations. It's also probably the most popular type of VN on the market in Japan these days besides nukige. And also seemingly among all new english translators entering the scene. Seems like every other week I see another new moege project start up.

Staircase's Dracu Riot translation is still as good as dead. Insem hasn't even done any stealth progress updates on twitter in like 5 months. Someone on Fuwanovel claimed they were going to translate Miu's route. But don't hold your breath.

Agave - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia That's the kind of plant the Kazama Family took care of and saw flower while they were kids. The Agave route is considered by some the true route, although that's highly debatable. AFAIK, there is no single heroine and focuses on the entire Kazama family as a group.

Agave route: 100% translation, 100% QC. Miyako route: TBA Kazama side-route: 100% translation, 100% QC. Waiting for Agave patch to finish. Will be released with other side routes that are ready at that time. Chika side-rotue: 100% translation, 100% QC. Waiting for Agave patch to finish. Will be released with other side routes that are ready at that time. Mayo side-route: 100% translation, 0% QC. Moro side-route: 25% translation, 0% QC. Gakuto side-route: TBA Another partial patch with the Agave, Kazama, and Chika routes is going to be released very soon. If I was to guess, probably w

There isn't anything significant and I don't think there ever has been any projects that has made major progress. Some people on Fuwanovel started a Zero project well over a year ago but they've yet to even release a prologue patch so it seems like they never really got anywhere.
-
Don't knock the manservice. I think it's already been clear for some time how the anime's story will progress. It will follow the non-existent "Harem Route" that Grisaia's lead writer wrote after Kajitsu's release, it's the canon route where Yuuji doesn't get romantically involved with any of the girls and is the route that Rakuen is based off of.

There doesn't actually seem to be much interest in adapting Rewrite. It seems like it will never happen, at this point. My guess is that it would be too expensive to produce with too low of an expected return. See also: Aiyoku no Eustia, August's highest rated game in Japan which also never saw an adaptation, despite all of their other stuff getting one. It's easy to write flashy words, but really expensive to animate them.

Well, it's official. Sekai Project confirmed that there will be 18+ versions of all of the Grisaia games and that they will be kickstarting for the entire trilogy. Lets bring the Grisaia trilogy to the West | Prefundia

Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki is listed as SakuSaku. The other one, KoiTate, isn't listed. It's not all that organized as a project and the guy behind it wasn't giving concrete numbers on it very often. Basically some people at Fuwanovel resumed where the old translation left off, and also ended up retranslating and editing a lot of the old translation because it was actually really bad. Also, more Grisaia related news! Someone is working on that magical girl spinoff title, and is already nearly halfway done: Idol Mahou Shoujo Chiru Chiru
