I'm surprised (English made, indie, not well known, very little gameplay), but also rather glad.

This could be a very good opportunity for other visual novels to find their way into the "legit" scene for video games.

^ It sort of is in a way that you click much like you do on your desktop, you also type in different commands at different points of the game. (and it doesn't seem to be, it has some nice reviews, but I still need to play it)

Hurry up and gimme some feedback or some pics on the game :o i hope its not just what the pictures on steam is showing...that looks dull...

-u know what, ill just try the trial

This game looks like a point and click interactive adventure, doesn't look THAT horrible though. We still need Steins;Gate on steam to drop the bomb :>

I'd pay 50$ for that, wouldn't even wait for a steam sale.

Great idea

My point was that if it got released on steam, it would raise awareness of VNs greatly. Even though I don't like JAST, it's good that someone is trying to push VNs to the mainstream market.

Didn't Steam at one time supposedly not team up with MangaGamer because they didn't want to be tied to a porn distributor? (This is just something I saw said somewhere else before, don't take me for truth)

It might be hard for JAST to get into Steam's good books because of their other titles if this is true.

I heard these same "rumors", don't know wether they be true or not, but i can respect steam/valve to protect their reputation and not be know as a service where you can get "sex games".

Although i don't see why they shouldn't all allow all ages titles or simply non h visual novels (like ever 17 for example). More recognition for visual novels in the west, a whole new category of games on steam, and people would actually be more inclined to buy the damn games instead of pirating them.

I know i would at least, i pay all my shit on steam with paypal, paypal is the only thing i use, so if i could get vn's on steam, i would gladly buy them. (if they are any good and not super pricy). But hey we got steam sales for that :p

You should see some of the posts on the steam forums

"THIS ISNT A GAME!!11"

Nothing you can do if some people don't understand what "Visual Novel" means. I checked the comments on steam just now and luckily there are some people that actually understand what it means.

Thats why you should always do a quick google search before any money swaps hands :p

It will be interesting to say the least if VN's become "Mainstream", I think it will always remain as something you either Enjoy, or dont have much intrest at all.

You can pretty much say the same thing about any genre of games, not just VNs. Then there are the ignorant people that say - "this isn't a game since there is no gameplay". I want to see them finish Clannad and then bitch about how there's no gameplay.

Steam's hatred for all things Japanese seems to be wavering. Carpe Fulgur's localizations (Recettear, Chantelise), several Ys games, Gundemonium, plans for eXceed and Crimzon Clover, and now this...

I played Cherry Tree High Comedy Club for about 10mins...First of, you can't use the mouse, only the keyboard. The game doesn't even tell you the controls, you can check them by pressing F1 and trying to figure out the Japanese controls menu. There seems to be like 1 or 2 BGM tracks and the whole game is about getting some recruits for some club or whatever. Maybe someone else can go through it and see how it is, I just couldn't bear playing it for more then a few mins.

As much as I enjoyed the game the LACK of being able to use the mouse what so ever made it very difficult for me to enjoy. At least Analogue has you use both, not just one or the other (granted with the typing you didn't have a choice, but that make it like you are actually using the system in the game).

Analogue A Hate Story's first impression: looks cool, i haz to manually type in shit, in the console, oh and the AI is hot.

Analogue A Hate Story's impression after 5 minutes: Damn, what the hell do i need to do, these logs don't make any sense to me, why do i want to know some korean family problems, what is this AI.

Analogue A Hate Story's later impression: Hmmmm interesting (need to REALLY read them logs though, can't skip anything important).

Final conclusion: inconclusive, need more data / haven't finished it ;)

yeah right... ignorant people are just annoying... they tend to criticize without even knowing what it really is...

Got the game few days ago, at the moment i have 2 out of 5 ending's, as the title suggests most of the game will be just bad stuff that happened with these korean/chinese people that lived in the ship, you will be reading logs almost the whole game, the game has two AI heroines, there is also a harem ending.

I liked this VN more than i expected, but i can already see that alot of people won't like it.

i just hope that cherry tree didn't turn up like Shira Oka in terms of gameplay....hell, it took me forever to finish that game because you have to spend most of your time to raise academic stats and you have only few opportunities to interactions with anyone
