What if some eroge developer instead of using 2d anime girl in the game, decide to use a real person still picture

 

let's say they hire bunch of av idol to replace the 2d girl with voice and still H-scene picture.

 

and instead of dating a anime girl, we try to date a av idol.

 

could it work, can we still fell the emotional connection ?

 

would it still be consider a bishoujo eroge?

 

of course the first one they did has to be heavy on the story, romance and stuff, and not heavy on ecchi, because if they did that, might as well watch those porn.

Lol I'd stick to the 2D girl, When you design an Anime girl there are no limitations to what you can have, but with a real person, it's limited to what they were born like + whatever you can make them look like with a load of makeup, And don't even say they would cosplay the Anime girl as 95% of the cosplayers I've seen look completely crap, No offence if anyone here cosplays.

There used to be games like that in the west, actually even before "eroge" became big in Japan. I recall playing one when you were photographer, conning a girl into session ( you know, that often used porn plot ) on 486DX.

The problem back then was that graphics were really poor, so while drawings could be nicely presented, photos looked awfull. With current technology there's some potential in this idea, but average porn user will probably prefer " hands-free" movie over a story where you have to click...

Hmm, I could see this doing well, however I think the general market is very much secure with the 2D images. It's also likely much cheaper to make a quality 2d game, then it would be for a 3d version to actually come out looking decent.

I've seen a few adult dating sim games like this in places like Newgrounds, albeit I've never seen one developed by a professional studio. I couldn't see one being extremely popular (or even good for that matter) because as others have said, a lot of the archetypes we normally see wouldn't be represented. Plus I can't imagine the girls in a game like this being anything but total bimbos.

I personally prefer to stick with 2D girls on this one. I don't think 3D girls can set up the mood in every scene of the game the way that the 2D girls do.
