It's not really a deal breaker for me tho and I've learned to live with mosaics if for no other reason than the fact that there are so many top notch VNs that have yet to or never will be be picked up for release outside Japan and only ever get fan translations so nothing can be done about the censorship of the CG's. It's not like wearing a certain kind of clothes, that forces you to use your imagination and it might be more sensual than being nude. In the case of eroges, I would say that censored will always be a better option. True they do have the same descriptions, but as you say using your imagination may make it more sensual than actually seeing it, i think that's the way i was trying to put it but couldnt find the right words ^^" . But if the translator or publisher censoring them due to loli, distrub content etc. in that case i cant torerate it. Mostly because the types of censoring we get in these games, be it black bars, blurry pixels, stars, little bears, or whatever, changes absolutely nothing if you have a decent imagination and are reading a description that doesn't suck(oral excluded of course >.>). The censorship just seems like a joke to me, and always has. I don't understand it, and I probably never will. Censorship in general just makes things more alluring and this seems to defeat the whole purpose of what we are led to believe censorship is there for. If you tell someone they cannot look at this, it just makes people want to look all the more. The allure of the unknown and the like, such as the Victorian ages and how almost any female skin showing was nearly considered porn. Another example would be the novel series by Piers anthony about a planet who's laws say everyone has to walk around naked except nobles, and how this culture makes the clothed nobles that much more sexy in the eyes of the people. It may just be a novel, but I can see the truth behind that idea. I'm actually more concerned about distortion and bad art when it comes to an H-scene rather than if they put pixels out of place or some other way of blocking the view. After about 8 hours of gameplay I stopped playing. Also, there aren't many options to make, so it's like watching anime. And like I said in my previous thread, I HATE slow-paced anime. An artist went to a great deal of effort to make a beautiful rendering... only to have goverment oppressors mutilate it for the cause of "decency". Aside from that it's also distracting to the scene.... it's like a coke machine in the middle of a beautiful vista. Then again..... When a terrible artist is hired they'll often use the censor bars/pixelation/ect as an excuse to totally rush through the censored portion of the image. In those cases it's a toss-up. You have the option of having censorship marks ruin the scene, or poorly/strangely drawn genitals ruin the scene. (I'm looking at YOU.. My Teacher's a Mage!) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
