Visual Novels Translation Status [08/26/2012]

Recommended Posts

Hey I have a question regarding fortune arterial, after the kiriha patch what happened to Erika and Harunas routes which were being translated? cause they just suddenly jumped to Kanades route

They're still being translated. Shiro -> Haruna -> Erika -> True is likely the route release order.

Yes, they were being translated before. They just have a specified route order now. You can't play the True route until you complete all other routes. Since it makes sense that Erika is the main gal, they are going to release that before the true route. They have 2 translators, so they can take on multiple routes like they've been doing.

hi guys, does anybody knows if it's true that Yoakemae Yori Ruriiro Na will be for all ages ?

It will be the 15+ version. In other words, there are no sex scenes. This version adds two extra routes.

hmm, well it's a bit sad, not cuz i'm so after the scenes, i don't realy care, one of my favorit VN is the Ever 17, so i put the story way before the sex scenes, the difference is that the Ever 17 was made without sex scenes but this game was made with them, i just curious if it will not effect the story, if not then i'm not complaining. Although it would be good if will be some kind of patch which will add the scenes.

A patch wouldn't really be able to insert the scenes because they might use say a different engine, or different scripts which would be too much of a hassle to try and incorporate. If you really want to view the scenes you are missing just view the ones Ivan has uploaded at Yoake Mae yori Ruri Iro na | Hentai game CG sets. As for me, while I might miss not having the h-scenes, I would rather have more routes to play through.

H's usually don't affect the story. They're mainly there to give you some fan service.

(There are some visual novels where the h's actually work as a a way to show the strong emotions between the characters, kind of rare though)

H's usually don't contribute to the plot very much, look at Eien no Aselia, no H's and still a pretty damn good game, like OMA said, it's just for fan service, I don't mind not having H's if the storyis good enogh.

Example: Sumika's H-Scene in Muv-Luv Alternative has a deep emotional meaning. So does Saber/Rin in Fate/Stay Night.

Loved Eien no Aselia, an excellent example of an "all ages" version done right. I'm always a little worried that all ages version will botch things but they can still impart the intended emotional significance through dialogue. Usually by turning the sex scene into something more innocent or using a kind of before and after type transition while glossing over the actual event.

In the case of Yoakemae Yori Ruriiro Na I'm highly dubious. I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the game a borderline nukige made into an all ages ps2 release just because of the anime? Removing H-scenes from a game like that is like taking all the fight scenes out of an action movie and hoping the "story" alone will satisfy people. I don't know about you but I'm not about to buy a porno for the plot no matter how good an editor they got to piece it together.

Wait wut?

Weren't both Saber's and Rin's H-Scenes something like "Must gain magical power through sex hur dur" ?

And I even remember Shirou throwing a tantrum about how he was naked so Rin should get naked too lol, that kinda ruined the mood for me.

well, we'll see it, it's a little bit disappointing but whatever, i just hope it will be good, if i think about G-senjou no Maou, i can't imagine that VN without the h-scenes, it would be just empty or something like this, in either case we won't figure it out till we play both which probably will not hapen, me personaly i don't care about the h-scenes, but i do care about the conversation before and after the h-scenes, i don't think they just cut the conversation right before them and continued right after them.

I second this. I didn't see there any romantic at all, especially if we're talking about saber's first h.

G-snM is a good example for important h's, at least in my opinion.

(Kanon, why was your route that shitty?!)

No, it was never a nukige. It's just one of those VNs with a heavy story with a sex scene or two with every route. The PS2 version added two routes and it was later ported to the PC.

I Did not intend to damper your enthusiasm. I was just giving you my initial impression and I'm hardly an authority, the game may well turn out amazing.

I was not trying to imply they would merely skip the sex scene. When I say "gloss over" think of it like a pg13 movie the relevant emotional aspects of the sex scene would be included in the kind of preamble where they kiss etc. followed by them tumbling into bed, screen fades then the after scenario, again edited to include any relevant bits missed. As I said it certainly has been done right in the past so it's possible it will be done well in this game to. My admittedly ignorant first impression however is still one of pessimism.

I don't like the idea of playing a VN with a heavy story that has it's H-scenes removed. Doesn't feel like the MC (or in some case, the player) and the girls in on a close relationship and have special bond between them because of the absence of H-scenes IMO.

I once played G-Senjou no Maou with a censored patch just to see the difference. While I would recommend it to people who wants to avoid H-scene, I actually dislike the censored version. When the H-scenes is removed, Mizuha bad ending and the epilogue ending just doesn't feel the same. It reduced the impact and awesomeness.
