  1. So this is just something I've been curious about. I start the download process on a game I acquired through either Steam or Epic Games. Using Epic Games for this particular example, the download status shows three progress bars, "Download", "Read", and "Write". The "Write" speed is consistently approximately 17 faster than the "Download" speed. Just where is all that data its writing coming from? I don't care how good data compression is, there is no way they are squeezing it down THAT tight.

  2. Just a general FYI: Since you added the most recent round of uploads, or maybe just before, I'm not sure on the fine point of that one, the thumbnail preview images you post in the "Screenshots" tab on each game page are not clearing muster on my anti-virus. It claims they are phishing URLs. The images don't load; in their place, I get file names such as "Lilim-wants-to-Lv-up-10a018eb2587bebf4.th.jpg" which are still clickable links that I presume will take you to full size picture like they used to. (I'm not actually clicking on them until I get conformation from you that no one has manged to hack your site and do something you weren't aware of).

  3. This is the right place to ask such questions. Unfortunately, there aren't too many people who actively participate in the forum.

BGI.exe is the file I use to start it.

This is a shot in the dark, but full screen mode for this particular title tends to not work well on modern PCs as is. I had to do the following:

-Right click on BGI.exe and open the properties window.

-Under the Compatibility Tab, check the box for "Disable fullscreen optimizations"

I don't know if that will actually fix your problems, but it's the only advice I have to offer.

  4. @Ivan

Just a general FYI. I don't know enough of the technical end of .rar files to know if this is still normal if atypical behavior or if something is actually not working as intended. I went to extract the .rar files and the process started fine, but at about the 70% mark, it slowed down dramatically to about one file every three seconds. As far as I can tell, all the files that have been slow to extract are .rpgmvo files. The process is still ongoing as I type this, so I don't know if the problem is specific to that file type and the speed will pick back up when it gets to a different file type, or if something is more fundamentally wrong. Or the files in question are just the gnarly technically wise, and this is actually normal.

PS: As far as I can tell, it's also only occurring during the part 3 file.

Oh yes, we also have Aoi Tori is now available on Steam (The link to the Steam store), so if you somehow prefer to buy the game from Steam then feel free to do so.

PS - Seeing next week we have AX, I'll be probably late for the next VNTS.

Can't speak for others, but I appreciate keeping my purchase consolidated through a single interface. If it wasn't available on steam, then I would likely have bought it through a different vendor, but since it's on steam and I can use the patch, no need to go creating, and therefore managing, ANOTHER account and password.

I'm guessing "AX" in a common shorthand for some sort of convention, but I don't follow the social side of things all that much. What does "AX" stand for?

  6. I'm getting slightly conflicting information about the plot of the VN Saint Dorei Gakuen. Some sources I've found seem to indicate that this is your classic corrupt school with a perverted teacher who kidnaps unwilling female students. If that is the case, hard pass on this title for me. Other sources seem to suggest that female students enrolled in this school knowingly and willingly, expecting to be trained into slaves, whether eagerly or reluctantly is another question. If this is the case, this title is just far enough from the norm that I might actually take a second look at it.

Does anybody know which is actually the truth of the matter?

  7. FYI: Just for future reference, notice the "*" around the title Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o: Interstellar Focus in the list above.

That's how you can tell which title the picture came from.

  8. It should be Haru from the VN Karenai Sekai to Owaru Hana.

FYI: For future reference, note that littleshogun, the person who posts and maintains these translation status lists, surrounded that title in the list with asterisks(*). That's how you can tell what VN the picture comes from. I just checked the list of characters on vndb.org against the picture to ID the character.

  9. As I don't know what that is, I can't say one way or the other. Given that no one else has responded, I'm assuming the answer is no.

If you haven't already, try checkout the Visual Novel Database (vndb.org). It is a publicly maintained wiki cataloguing most Visual Novels in existence. Try using the in-site search bar, and failing that try a google search to the effect of "vndb.org <KEY WORDS>".

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  10. Quality assurance missed this one (presumably by the original Japanese production staff, as it graphic related, not language/translation related). So does anybody else notice the screw up in this picture?

For those who can't figure it out, the error is detailed in the spoiler box below.

    Spoiler

The background image for the cut-in on the right is the wrong variant of the same location as the main background image. The cut in has the pool filled while the main image has the pool empty.
