You're right, there are some hints and details that are either not present in the VN (like the one you mentioned), or, they're more hidden in the VN. Though it's been a while so it's hard to remember all the little details. Anyway, some might not see it as a positive change, but I think it's cool.

Besides the godly animation and such, what I like the most is that it feels like they're taking their sweet time with it (which makes you wonder just how many episodes it's going to have). It felt like the VN, to a certain degree at least. That's a very good thing. It was very easy to "settle in" because of it. Helps of course that this first episode was extra long. Lancer... I kinda missed him to be honest, lol. I like this Lancer a whole lot more than the one in F/Z. Well, I guess I miss(ed) most of the characters in FSN though. The hype is, in fact, real. I can't actually remember ever being this excited to start watching a new airing anime. Although... even more excited for HF, but whatever, that ain't coming yet. -
Tomitake. He certainly got more compared to the original and PS2 version. It's not exactly one of the best new sprites. Takano's head and face also looks too sharp to be honest. My favourites so far are [spoiler=Higurashi arc 2/3] Rena's scary face sprite, Chie's sprite, Irie's sprite, Shion's sprites and Rena's "I'm gonna take you home" face sprite.

Good question. I was thinking when I first saw it that "maybe it makes sense if you see the rest of the legs and feet". But I dunno, maybe not. Kotomine for best waifu. But no, can't pick a male character, so it's either Illya, Sakura, Rider or Rin. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............. This is tough. But it's probably not Rider even though I like her a lot. Same with Rin. Illya or Sakura................................................................. Some sprite examples from Steam Higurashi that has shown up lately: I'm impressed by most of the ones they've shown so far. I'm also glad that Rena's semi-hidden zettai ryouiki will be in there. I'm playing through the first part of Monster Girl Quest. Yea. That happened. I've been curious to see what the story is really like in this, because I'm pretty sure people have said that it's good. Or decent at least? And the third part of the series is very highly rated, so there's that. Well from what I've seen so far, it's actually not that bad. Not amazing, but not bad. I like the dialogue between the protag and Alice. It can be funny or a bit thoughtful at times. The combat is pretty good too, at least on hard difficulty. Yea, it's hard, unless you have a really low level HQ. However the MI maps are actually not bad at all, assuming you have the necessary ships and green planes. But the first two AL maps are just pure RNG hell. Really annoying, but I managed to get past them all. Got E-6 left, which might be the hardest map the game has ever had if you're on HQ level 100+. That's where you get Isokaze with Saber's voice, which is kinda like a trophy DD that shows that you beat E-6, 'cause her stats aren't anything special. I think Saber has voiced a few other new ships as well though, like the new CV Unryuu... pretty sure it's her.
And yea both Akagi and Kaga has a few lines related to Midway. I don't know much about them, but it's kinda cool anyway.

Both Fata morgana and Eden sounds like they could be really good. Well, for me anyway. Maybe Supipara too. *shrug* Already know minori can be great thanks to Ef, and based on the few votes that Eden and Supipara has, they didn't fail with those either.

( ) Pretty epic and visually pleasing, no? Apparently all battle scenes will have that 3D look... 3D CG, or whatever you call it. I believe Arpeggio is similar in that regard. So, based on the PV, it will not just be a bunch of moe comedy stuff. Probably a mixture of action and comedy, like Strike Witches (?). And in the PV there is at least one abyssal bigshot character - Anchorage Princess. Glad they decided to include the abyssal fleet, and I hope there'll be a good story involved with them. Yep, 8/8. Your resource stock must be full by now then. Could definitely do some stuff with that if you wanted to. Even better if your HQ level isn't too high, because there's difficulty scaling involved based on your level for the events.
Oh and she's not actually a submarine (Taigei - Kancolle Wiki). She's just a "ship that tends submarines", hence submarine tender, lol. Ingame it doesn't mean much though, but she can be remodelled into a light carrier called Ryuuhou.

So pretty. I have faith in ufotable. And I'm actually glad it's going to be straight up HF (and UBW), and not some mixture/original/whatever... although I think I would've preferred HF to be the full series instead. Well whatever, it'll be great. In the YT comments on that HF preview, someone suggests that maybe there'll be more than one movie for it. That would be ideal I think.
