  1. January 8th is the day.
  2. Well that shouldn't be the main problem since I've always been able to run Ever17 on Windows 7. Check this thread: [sOLVED] Ever 17 on Windows 8.1? - Voluntary Tech Support - Fuwanovel They're talking about Windows 8.1, but maybe you have the same problem anyway. Try this .exe file that they posted on there: goo.gl/mFdncf (I just tried it myself and it works fine) If that doesn't solve the problem, then check this out: Ever17 -The Out of Infinity- - Page 70 - AnimeSuki Forum Basically, using "Windows XP mode" rather than just "Windows XP compatibility mode". They're two different things. But you need to install some shit to utilize Windows XP mode. Check the thread page that I linked for info. Still, I haven't had to do any of the above in order to run Ever17. I'm using Windows 7 Home 64bit.
  3. Finished Clannad. Took me like 1 month and 8 days or so. All routes, all CGs unlocked, etc. No doubt one of the best nakiges around, 'cause it sure made me cry a lot. Literally crying at times, not just being teary-eyed. However! That only really happened during certain routes/scenes. It's a mixed bag for me. That's kind of expected though because of how many routes there are in total. Can't expect every single one to cater to one's tastes. Some are good, some are amazing, some are... not that good (MY opinion, remember that). So... yea... mixed feelings, and I'm not sure what rating I'm gonna give it. I will say though that the best parts in Clannad pretty much overshadows the "average" parts. So in the end I think it's a great VN. Some random info from my experience with it: Favourite routes: Kotomi's route and After Story. Ultimately it's these two that stood out the most for me in Clannad. Kotomi's route was a very big surprise... I just didn't think it would get that incredibly emotional. Absolutely loved it and I would be willing to re-read it at some point. After Story was equally amazing during certain parts of it, most (not all) of which took place during the second half. Also After Story had the best music, which is a pretty big deal. Least favourite routes: Ryou's & Kyou's. Yep. Kyou's route had a few good scenes, but most of it was just annoying to me. I don't mind the characters at all, but the routes weren't to my taste unfortunately. Favourite characters: Hmmm... probably Kotomi (because most interesting + waifu), Tomoyo (because cool girl) and Fuko (because funny cute). Though I like several other characters as well and there wasn't any character that I straight up disliked. Nagisa's parents are awesome. Music: Some of the best emotional songs I've heard in any VN. Don't need to say much more than that. If you've read Clannad then you can already guess which ones are my favourites. Besides those songs though, I really like the one that plays in the "illusory world" scenes, and also the characters' theme music. Translation: Fine in the main game for the most part. Not good throughout the majority of After Story... mistakes and awkward English all over the place, seriously. Thankfully however it did get much better in some of the best scenes in AS. Sunohara's screams: 10/10 Mei's "Onii-chan": 10/10 Kotomi's triple question marks: 10/10 Clannad: Dango/Dango http://i.imgur.com/VVA2KlP.jpg

  5. Last episode of the first cour will be double length, similar to ep0 & ep1. ( )
  6. Danganronpa 2. Even if I had read everything else that is notable on this list (like I/O and Ataraxia) and knew how good they were, it's likely that I'd go with DR2 anyway. I'm pretty sure it would beat them. It was just waaay too much fun and a really awesome sequel to DR1. Can't go wrong with it.
  7. Happy Birthday VNH!!! :)

  8. Higurashi's steam page is up: Higurashi When They Cry Steam Edition - Ch.1 Onikakushi on Steam
  9. Unless I'm missing a joke or something, this actually confirms that Aroduc is doing Bunny Black 1. I only remember someone saying in a VNTS thread that it was a rumor or something before, that's why I took note of it.
  10. Irresistible. http://i.imgur.com/Fv4cYZV.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/kwdx0Gy.jpg)
  11. <Hhhhhhappy Hallow-... no, Hhhhhhhappy Birthday Yachi-san>!! <OOOOOOOOHHH YEEEEEAA>!! <Veery gooooood>!!

  12. Well dovac already commented on that: "I know there's some concerns about the English, we missed a deadline sadly so the demo is not indicative of the final version. It's quite hard to get a multilanguage game out on time...." Who knows how much better it'll be in the final version, but they're aware of the problems at least.
  13. Neko Works has put out a trial for vol.1 of Neko Para: http://mirror.tsundere.ne.jp/mirrorinfo/dojin/adult/neko-works/Nekopara1-trial1.html Yes it comes with an English translation. Edit: Now on Steam as well - http://store.steampowered.com/app/334660 dovac on the translation quality in the demo:
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyhniC1CzuU (Finished the event in one day... so easy compared to the Midway event, and it still gives nice rewards like Prinz Eugen and Akizuki.)
  15. ef - a fairy tale of the two. Must-read for you if you haven't checked it out already. Sharin no Kuni. It's not as focused on the romance as Ef, but it's certainly there and Sharin is a great VN in general. Same can be said for G-senjou no Maou. Well... to be honest, most of the VNs have romance to SOME extent. But if you're looking for something that focuses on it, then you can't go wrong with Ef.
  16. [spoiler=Higurashi]Well it's a different style, so that's what you get. The eyes in the first season of the anime don't look the same either - they're more cat-like. Kizuna is also pretty different from the Matsuri (PS2) eyes... those Kizuna ones might just be the best, at least as far as being unsettling goes. But this is potentially a different kind of creepy. These have more colour in them... or shadow... whatever. A bit more on the crazy/manic side maybe (the more visibile smile and the lines under her eyes adds to that effect) Whether that's actually a good thing or not in the end, we'll see in the game when it's released, 'cause that's the only time one can be sure. The PS2 eyes are very menacing though, yes. And that's appropriate of course. I put this together for easier comparison: http://i.imgur.com/tMaldNI.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/9PC3dvV.jpg Different body stances, but otherwise it should be the same sprite variation. Well personally I like both styles, just from this. But each to their own on that regardless.
  17. Some new sprites from the steam version of Higurashi: http://i.imgur.com/0oIcrhu.png [spoiler=Higurashi arc1]Yup, I like these two. These new creepy sprites could definitely be better than their PS2 equivalents. I mean... that smiling Rena face is a pretty big change from her normal face (which is a good thing). But, still need to see what it's all like ingame together with music, sound, text, etc. http://i.imgur.com/hgORGdD.png http://i.imgur.com/dG6WLkK.png
  18. [spoiler=Danganronpa 2 ch4]I hadn't thought about that underlined part actually, but it does make a lot of sense. Some of the other stuff I got already, because yes, Gundham is saying it himself at the end of the trial - or implying it in his own way. And I also got that Nekomaru and Gundham were both in on it.
  19. The second button is for installing the game. The first one that is grayed out is for starting the game.
  20. Second PV: [video=youtube;3u-WE85ExIU] So if you combine this one with the first PV, it gives you a good idea of what the show will be like... Moe comedy slice of life with some action, pretty much. Well it has potential to be something good, but mostly so for people who really like Kancolle characters - no surprise there. Though I still don't know if there'll be a significant story with the abyssals or if it's just gonna be some "random" action. Some of the kanmusus shown in this PV aren't on the anime website yet, but it's nice to know that they'll show up anyway (very minor roles at least). Example: Kagerou, Samidare and Asashio at 0:33. Mamiya at 0:36. Edit: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-11-07/kantai-collection-kan-colle-anime-2nd-video-story-unveiled/.80775 The outline of the story: "is set in a world where humanity has lost control of the seas. The threat that has taken over the seas is the "deep sea fleet." The only ones who can counter this threat are Kan-musume (literally, warship girls), girls who possess the spirit of naval vessels from days gone by. The base for the fleet arrayed against the "deep sea fleet" is Chinjufu. There, many various Kan-musume have gathered to live together and work hard everyday in training and other matters. One day, a Kan-musume arrives at Chinjufu, She is a special class of destroyer. Her name is Fubuki. "I am Fubuki! Nice to meet you!" Fubuki's story — as well as the Kan-musume's story — begins now. "
  21. Why don't you buy it?
  22. For a moment I hesitated again to start reading Clannad probably maybe soonish, because of "think about how much better it can be with a great translation instead." But then I remembered that it's going to take a loooooong time until it's finished anyway, since it's going to be a translation from scratch. It just can't be that fast, not for something so lengthy like Clannad.
  23. Happy birthday Hyro! :)
