I am very sure a lot of people are into reading story-driven VNs (the download counts for story-driven titles like Rewrite, Grisaia, G-sen, Sharin no Kuni, F/sn, and MLA among others, can attest to that. He once said that he didn't plan to touch any of the old Key stuff, so Angel Beats, being new and everything, may have a slim chance provided that it is a 9/10 material. But to be blunt, he already has a list of what to translate and there are a lot of other more important titles on his plate to choose from, so even if Angel Beats qualify for translation, it won't be anytime soon, sadly.

And with the scale and nature of the current fanbase, licensing and selling high-quality VNs won't earn high profits. Big companies like Key, Type-Moon, or Giga are used to see big figures and will not deal with localization company, unless they are certain it could sell more than just a mere 5 000 copi
