  1. Everything Ryu wrote is true, and to add a little more detail: 2. It's not like a traditional VN in the sense that instead of reading until presented with a choice of dialogue options, the game progresses in turns and you have anywhere from 2-5 actions per turn to use on many, many options of things to do. On one turn, you might use your actions on battles, and on another turn, you might use your actions on viewing scenes with characters or developing your army. There's a lot to do here, frankly 3. There's one 'true' route, three routes following specific heroines, a 'routless', gameplay-based option, and a free-for-all battles only option. Oh, and five levels of difficulty. Doing everything will take like a literal week of playtime. 4. Combat is fairly simple but good fun. The funnest thing for me was capturing enemy generals and recruiting them to my side, growing my army and making me stronger and stronger (while building a harem lol) 5. You can customize character skills and stats, and one slot for items, but there isn't any traditional equipping of weapons or armor. Which, for this kind of game, is a really good thing. Hope that all makes sense. Now go get the game and block off the next couple of days from your schedule, trust me lol
  2. I got it completely randomly, and that's how you'll be getting it too. Basically just keep playing the game and summoning gnome for every fight and eventually you'll see a different sprite of gnome with her eyes closed pass on the screen when you summon her. Finish the fight (or maybe just lose or return to the monsterpedia, I don't know if it matters) and when you check the record again the line should be in white.
  3. Grave of the Fireflies. I watched this in a group of about thirty people once and when the movie ended, all the girls in the room were bawling their eyes out lol
  4. That one's not hard to get, it's just the name of her insertion move. Just fight normally until she throws you down (I think you might need to purposefully NOT summon sylph) and don't resist on the next turn. Easy peasy
  5. Ah good, that's a relief. Well, time to start upgrading then!
  6. Ikr? And all that saving and loading didn't get me anywhere, it's pretty ridiculous. I would equip her with a resist elemental necklace, but the damn missiles are a physical attack, so the best I've got is a fortress ring for +4 constitution and her special item for +15 luck if I'm remembering that number correctly. EDIT: Okay, after giving it another go, I managed to win by the following strategy: Using a fortress ring and an angelwing shield and a lot of luck, I managed to get enough criticals, shield blocks, and dodges to win. It also helped that the increase in constitution apparently made the monster want to use a holy attack instead of the missiles, which Sharty handled better. Glad that fight's over. But seriously, I could really use a response for my other question about the clothes upgrades transferring to a NG+. Halp plz?
  7. You know, I can't even remember the last time I was rickrolled. That's probably a good thing lol
  8. I've got a kind of specific question that I haven't been able to find an answer for: do improvements to clothing carry over into a NG+? I don't want to sit here sinking cash into upgrading Yuela's clothes for her scenes and skills if I'm just going to lose the upgrades when I beat the game for the first time tomorrow lol Also, anybody have any tips on how to beat Sharty's gauntlet fight in the arena? She's the last one I need to do, but the last monster you have to beat just owns her with his ranged missiles in one turn. I even attacked the thing beforehand and got three critical hits in a row and dodged one out of two attacks, but the thing was still at about half hp and then missiled her to death.
  9. 80,000 full downloads!? I didn't realize I was part of an army of eroge players lol. I just finished playing this game with the voice patch not too long ago, and I will admit that the voices greatly helped make the experience for me. I made a point of listening to the voices most of the time (I skipped Chousen's though, sue me), and it made some of the scenes a lot funnier.
  10. Glad to see progress is being made on Little Busters EX, because I passed on playing the all ages version to wait for it lol. I'm also surprised to hear that Mangagamer is translation that eroge about making eroge. Also, Majikoi can't be translated fast enough
  11. Well, seeing as the goal of the DLC is to get out from under the mountain of dislike for the ending, they had no choice but to make it free. If we had to pay for it, they'd just be digging themselves deeper. But as I've been saying, no amount of DLC is going to get them out of the pit they've already dug for themselves. Makes me feel bad for Bioware... I'm willing to bet they really were rushed to finish the game and had to make the crappy ending because of it.
  12. Believe me, I never would have even tried to clear characters if I didn't have the loyal Alicesoft wiki by my side every step of the way lol. Some character clears are absolutely ridiculous to do, like Hitani Mario or the lady doctor's (I forget her name... francine?) five star clears. I haven't even tried for the anthropomorphic Indiana Jones wannabe and his floating blonde friend yet either. Clears like that almost require entire playthroughs with the exact purpose of clearing them to do, leaving everything else to fall to the wayside. Despite all this though, I've had a lot of fun with the game. Rouga is a badass
  13. I think if you spend enough time around certain ideas/fetishes in eroges then you grow to enjoy them. For me, things like lolis weren't interesting at all when I first heard of them, but now, years later, sometimes I just enjoy a good loli character in my story. Am I being brainwashed, I wonder?
  14. HAHA!!! Success!! I was gone for a few days and the lolis are currently in third! Childhood friend lovers unite! ...yes, I am disregarding the others for now lol
  15. Just finished the game myself, and now I really can't wait for part 3. The direction the series seems to be going in now is really exciting! Even though I already had an idea of what was going to happen ever since part 1, I was still surprised by the ending scenes. I'm looking forward to ToroToro's conclusion.
  16. The others have surpassed the childhood friends!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  17. You speak the truth; all I'm trying to point out is that Bioware is in a cliche 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation. If they don't try to fix the ending, they leave tens of thousands of fans ticked off and damage their consumer's trust. If they do try to fix it, they destroy the wholeness of the game as a complete product and still come across as 'caving' to pressure by altering the game after it went gold. My suspicions are the same a Ryu's, meaning I feel like the developers were rushed into finishing the game and didn't have time to make the ending they wanted to make. Or maybe there wasn't enough room on the two discs? We'll never know unless somebody on the inside gives us the whole story.
  18. I've been sitting here struggling to come up with something to post here for about thirty minutes and I still haven't found something good enough to say lol. This topic is gigantic and I don't have the answers, as much as I wish I did. All I know for sure is that I'm a guy, I like women, and I'll probably never find one that thinks like me.
  19. I recently replayed part 1 and ran into that mysterious red-haired lady in a lab coat again, which is something I missed the first time around. I revisited Witch Hunt Village before heading on to the end of the game, checked the mansion just for fun, and there she was! I'm really wondering who she is, but don't anybody dare post spoilers in this thread or I will reach through the internet and punch that person in the face.
  20. Would the loli anthem sound like an actual national anthem, or would it be more of a cute song? Or maybe something in between? I dunno, I'm not on the loli side lol
  21. Hey, somebody actually used this thread other than me! If anyone was curious, I'm still in the process of playing Koihime Musou; I've been very distracted by Mass Effect 3, replaying Monster Girl Quest 1 in anticipation of MGQ2, watching Ika Musume (funny anime), and the demands of real life. I technically could just stop playing it, but I still want to see all of the home base scenes and get the harem ending, so I'm pushing forward.
  22. I can't believe other is just one behind childhood friend..........I can't believe loli still has two more votes than childhood friend.........What has this world come to!?
  23. MGQ pt. 2 is at 98.9%. Estimated date of release is March 31st. My body has never been more ready.
  24. No matter what kind of DLC they release, and no matter if it costs money or is free, it's not going to fix the bad ending. The damage has already been done; any alternative ending they present us with now will just seem tacked on no matter how good it might be.
