  1. Eien no Aselia. While the battle system is decent and lacks H-scenes, what makes this game shine is the epic story spanning over 60 hours, with many different endings. It's one of those games where the protagonist's dynamic changes by the end of the game create an emotional impact on you, leaving you with wanting more - and there is, as the sequel is currently being translated. Definitely try this. There's also three difficulty settings, which are unlocked after each subsequent clearing of the game; by using clear data, your characters can level up passed the previous level cap and learn many,
  2. Only if I spend a bunch of time on a certain route, just to discover I picked a wrong choice(s)/didn't do something(s) right near the end, making all of that time a waste because I cannot finish the story. I hate that so much.
  3. Flyable Heart. I am unsure if I will like it, because apparently there are a lot of food discussions? I ended up dropping Lucky Star because how boring the first episode was, since the characters were talking about food for many minutes near the beginning...
  4. To Heart 2. It was alright, but there was practically zero drama in the story in the route I played (most likely, there isn't any in the others, too), and a lot of it is untranslated, sadly. I would rate it below average, and thus I would not recommend it unless you've already seen the anime.
  5. I started playing visual novels because I was extremely unsatisfied with how most romance anime go nowhere with their relationships, or the characters will confess at the end but the anime concludes soon after. I've already seen mostly every romance visual novel's - that's been translated - anime adaptation, though if I have yet to see it, these days I've been playing the visual novels first because the visual novel will be loads better compared to the romantic anime, without question.
  6. A little Kamidori Alchemy Meister, but mostly To Heart 2.
  7. Wait. Wait. Wait. "Yoakemae Yori Ruriiro Na - 100% translated, 13% edited" What. I must of missed this until now, because I never knew it was even being worked on.
  8. No real preference, but I suppose blonde and pink hair.
  9. XD A lot of JRPGs allow you to do this, even the really older ones. But I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't know there WAS NOT a specific turn order for your characters - that you could click on their icon and choose whoever you want to move first, not forced to go in the order of whom you picked to use - until chapter 3. I wasted a lot of turns with characters and wasn't able to make full use of their movement because characters would be so close together. >_
  10. I'm doing Serawi's route, but it looks like some of you are two or more chapters ahead of me (I'm just at the beginning of chapter 4). I can really only play on my days off from work and school, unfortunately. =/
  11. I was wondering about this, too. I personally chose to not do it because I didn't like to be labeled as a deadbeat. But since the dungeon is an "easy way out" in the game, maybe it prevents you from seeing certain events, and thus you miss out on CGs, obtaining certain alchemy items, quests, etc because you didn't play the game normally by "cheating"? I would like to know. >D
  12. I'm about to start Chapter 3, though I'm taking my time to beat everything you possibly can before going onto the next chapter. I have two guest characters, seven party members, and my evaluation is over 2500. I haven't beaten any of those high level bosses yet. My highest level is 13, and everyone else is more or less the same level because I train evenly. You can check where to locate materials by going to Info and then Item. I'm on chapter 2, but I already made the Swan Robe, which I was able to do from collecting Waterfowl Skin from the Hyuchei found in Western Shore, Lake Shisetik
  13. Presently, I've found the easiest method to make money early on is to collect a bunch of ore from the first level and wood found in the forest to make a lot of particleboard, then sell the Small Bookshelf created from those materials for 240 each or Large Bookshelf for 800. I had no money troubles doing this. And using as many clerks as possible with the best service is the fastest way to make income. I didn't even know it was possible for the first guild clerk to sell anything (can she?). Her base service is 10, but Serawi's is only sixteen higher, yet she can manage to sell TONS more than
  14. I used to play Mabinogi and Shin Megami Tensei Imagine (which was 100x better, and I even restarted from level 1) with a friend, but it got boring. Although I'll still play every once in a long, long while, I just don't have the time and desire/incentive to make my character stronger.
  15. Loving it so far (gameplay wise), since I'm a HUGE fan of alchemy elements *cough* my location *cough*. Played nonstop for 13 hours yesterday. Just woke up, and I'm gonna do it again! >D Well, maybe not that long, because I have to work...
  16. And here I thought I was going to be the ONLY person bringing that series up. Not only that, but I agree the games are infinitely more preferable to the anime (the manga is better as well). I've replayed .hack//GU Rebirth six times, and dataflagged all of the way to the end of the three games thrice. The original IMOQ series I've only beaten completely twice, but I plan on replaying through all four in the future. Too bad .hack//Link never got a translation, but with any luck, we'll be able to play the fan translation; and with even more luck, the next new installment will get an official tran
  17. Fortune Arterial. I watched the anime when it aired which was a while ago, but for some reason I've had this desire to read the manga. Maybe because I was checking out the translation progress of the VN.
  18. What a coincidence, I'm a sophomore accounting major, turning junior this summer. Guess you're my senpai. >D And I'd say "welcome!", but we're both new. Screw it, I made my intro seven hours before you, so I'll say it anyways: "WELCOME!"
  19. Yo. Joined recently because I noticed the forum was back after looking at ErogeDownload's homepage. I only have a year's worth of playing VNs, and thus haven't had the chance to play many, but I do when I feel like it. Here's the small list of what I have managed to play so far- Da Capo II Eien no Aseria: Spirit of Eternity Sword Da Capo if Da Capo Fate/stay night Shuffle! Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!! Kanon Canvas 2 ~Niji Iro no Sketch~ Sharin no Kuni- Himawari no Shoujo Sharin no Kuni- Yuukyuu no Shounenshoujo Princess Waltz Snow Sakura Saya no Uta Narcissu I'
  20. Unless you want to be a VN debugger in Japan. >D I haven't read the manga, and therefore don't know what he's going to do about getting through life after graduating high school (if that was ever even brought up), but I'm guessing that is what he'll do.
  21. Loved it. I'm currently playing Growlanser II: The Sense of Justice (PS2) and Pokemon White (DS). Hating the new Pokemon, but I am loving Growlanser II. These are first playthroughs for each game mentioned.
  22. Top Five Rosario+Vampire Sword Art Online (light novel) Hayate the Combat Butler! Iris Zero Umi no Misaki
  23. I'm pretty behind on the manga (stopped where the second season anime ended), but I will pick it back up when the third anime season airs. I own about four volumes of the manga, none of which is the first unfortunately. I really need to buy that.
  24. Most definitely Eien no Aselia, because the OVA was terrible. Sharin no Kuni TV would be another immediate hit. Can't stand all of the crap anime being made based off VNs while these get ignored/got passed by.
