Not too many light hearted VNs that are translated that are good tbh. Most of the other ones are nukige.

Hoshizora is pretty close to being done. Around 16 scripts left to revise. Pretty damn excited, should probably be done in around 2 weeks. Also the Majikoi translation seems to be going pretty slow The translator seems to be pretty busy and can barely translate on the weekends... took 2 weeks to get a 3% update for the Miyako route... makes me a sad panda

It won't mess up your computer. Lots of eroge games require that you set your locale to japanese, so that could be a solution to the problem like onemanarmy suggested.

The EX version isn't out yet but you can track their progress with their twitter account here. They post random stuff but they also do updates once in a while.. for instance they posted that the Sasami route was ~40 percent translated a few days ago. ^ and yeah, i'm not interested in the hentai scenes with the old characters as well... Key hentai scenes are the definition of awkward

Yeah, the Muv-Luv series was translated very well. Hopefully they can do a few more projects after Rewrite.

Yeah, thats probably what I'm thinking since those 2 routes still need to be translated. I would wait for the full patch to come out... won't be too long now.

Amaterasu translations doesn't screw around lol.. only took them a year to translate Muv-Luv Alternative... hope they end up picking up more projects after Rewrite.

Hmm... thats weird. Maybe try out the RC2 English Patch that is available on ErogeDownload and see if that fixes it? Otherwise, I'm not exactly sure what the problem is.

I haven't played this so I can't answer all the questions but for 4. I'm not sure what the exact reasoning was, but the English patch will only work with the ages 12+.. which means no hentai content (boo). The Original 2003 P.C version is 18+ which includes erotic scene while psp port to p.c version is supported by the translation english patch The patch won't work with the 18+ Japanese version. I believe there is an uncensor patch for this game on the erogedownloads page but it doesn't show the hentai scenes, it will uncensor other things.

A Profile might fit the bill but its one long scene instead of several scenes. killerinsidee also mentioned Imuoto Ijime, which I agree is horrible, but if you are into that thing maybe you can overlook it. Plenty of scenes in that one. Also I believe in Crescendo there is a route involving an older step sister.. again I think its just one or two scenes in that VN.

There is some drama, but there are a lot of comedy moments as well. I still encourage you to try it even if drama isn't your cup of tea Didn't see a vote for the fandisc.. did you play it? I encourage you to play it if you haven't... the extra hentai scenes for each character are pretty bad so you don't have to do those but the main route with Houzuki's backstory is pretty awesome.

The latest update on the translation website still puts the Miyako route at 15%. Usually a full translation for a route takes them around 4 months, judging by the last route release. But after the Miyako route they only have a few side routes and the true route to translate. I probably expect the release date for a full patch to be around the end of this year.

Muv-Luv doesn't have rpg elements but you should give it a try anyways

Any patch you download from ErogeDownload is NOT a virus. I believe this is also a known issue that some anti virus programs pick up reallive-patch.exe as a trojan, but it is NOT harmful. EDIT: Also so your post on the visual novels subreddit

I would wait. I know its hard to do, especially when you've been looking forward to the VN for a while now. I faced the same dilemma with Majikoi. Wanted to play it for a few months now but I've held off for now.. i just think it'll be a better experience going in once the full translation is done instead of stopping halfway through it and waiting again.

Simple question.. do you play Eroge/Visual novels using a walkthrough or do you try to figure out the choices yourself? I usually use a walkthrough but for some visual novels i find i have a better connection with them if i don't use a guide.. so i guess it kind of depends for me. For example, playing Katawa Shoujo I pretty much went in with a blind run and i think it made the experience better than if i was using a walkthrough of the choices. It made me more connected with the VN. So how about you... do you use a walkthrough?

Same here. I thought the project died out but i was happy to see they released a 35% patch a few weeks back. Gives me some hope they will finish translating the whole game.
