"Never 7" Installation help/Problem solving
killerinsidee replied to Ivan's topic in Eroge Tech Support
The files are fine. Are you running the game with Never7_English_CD or Never7_English_OGG ? You should run it with the OGG one. -

Nah, you can just extract the .rar directly to the game folder (.../CYBERFRONT/Never7). -

If you copied the "ost" folder and ost.track, ost2.track into the game folder, it will show up in the menu for sure. -

Download pc-ost.zip, extract it to the game folder (Program Files\CYBERFRONT\Never7). Start the game normally and while playing - Right click (you'll see a dropdown menu), there is an option for the BGM/soundtrack, you can pick the normal one or the reverse one (either of them are fine). -

That's true, yeah. Did you try extracting with 7-Zip, did it make any difference? Also, if you're not - don't use the Right click -> Extract Here with Winrar. Instead open the .rar and click on "Extract To" button and pick some place. -

Well, if you got an error during the extraction, then some file(s) is corrupted, while the rest of them are fine. When you try to run the game with some corrupted files, it may start up fine, but you may run into problems/errors later on (as you described). Try extracting with 7-Zip (it's a free program similar to Winrar, find it on google), if an error shows up again then download the game again since it is corrupted for sure. One more thing, disable your anti-virus when you extract, it could be that your anti-virus sees some file as a false-positive (google it if you don't know what it is) -
Fair enough.

Best news I've heard all day. Da Capo, Kotori ExP didn't do well at all. : Also, lol at "People might be waiting for a hardcopy" for Ef. Nice summary though.
-
I highly doubt that many people use "IsoBuster" instead of Winrar or 7-Zip and they accidentally renamed it. It's usually the other thing - file being corrupted.

I have CCCP 2011-11-11 at default settings and videos work fine for me. -
Ep 18 - The predictable filler before the last arc. It had a bit more laughs then usual but still, filler is a filler. The mystery was kinda uninteresting to me. Only significant thing was the slight change of Oreki's behavior, but it was to be expected by the end of the series. Also, it's soo good not having any manga club bullshit anymore. Last arc next week.

Let's not go into that again...

This was discussed to death already. Basically there is nothing wrong with Ef Lite, there may be some trolling in the translation but it's really minor (you may not even notice most it). You can play MG's First Tale, which is without the minor trolling, but the quality is probably the same as the NNL one. Only problem is that you'll need to wait for the Latter Tale to release if you decide to go with the MG version. If I didn't play it already, I would not wait for the 2nd part to release. If I played the First Tale only it would kinda feel like a demo.

1.01 is down because they released 1.02 - Install_N7_En.exe

Forgot to mention the OP movie. It plays in the title menu when you don't do anything for like 15sec. If you want to check if the movies work for you, just wait in the main menu for a bit. -

I downloaded the PC ogg files (didn't get PSP at all) and just copied everything from the rar to the game folder. Worked fine like that. Just to note - dunno if everyone else is getting the "there is no cd error", but it doesn't matter. Also, picking Direct3D T&L HAL graphics mode in fullscreen was kinda messy for me (Windows switched to basic theme mode and other nonsense), picking Direct3D HAL worked just fine. Edit: Think someone before wrote that mounting any disc (iso or whatever) fixes the "there is no cd..." error when the voice files are playing. -
You need to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Install all of them - 2005, 2008 and 2010, you need them for other games/applications anyway.
-
Extra Disk = Eushully Append disc, maybe. If he's by any chance reading this thread, I bet he's laughing his ass off at how terribly wrong we are :>
-
I agree, probably an another troll. That game is not all that highly rated and it doesn't have an extra disc or whatever. Doubt Aroduc would waste time on this "above average" game while there are much better games with gameplay to TL.
-
Hmm, strange stuff. I personally trust MAL more then ANN, but I guess we'll find out in a few weeks. Though I would like more episodes then less of course :>
-
There are 21 episodes in total, as far as I know. So it's 4 left.
-
Ep 17 - A pretty good conclusion to this arc, Oreki was pure win in the first half of the episode. Doubt I can ever get bored of listening to Nakamura Yuuichi rant about random stuff. The only crap part of the episode was the manga bullshit, I'm glad that's over. Nothing else to say about it. Next ep will either be filler or it will start off the final arc of the show.
