Do you by any chance have a Windows username with some strange letters, e.g. with - â, ú, ö ? The saves are located in c:\users\username\... so if you have a something with strange letters there, it could cause problems. Also, try to find some save from the net and put it in that folder, then try to load it (and if the game can even see the saves).

Could be, but the fact is that Chitanda is kinda dumb about random shit. For an example, she can't remember where she saw the art style from the manga book and she goes into "watashi kininarimasu mode", while she saw that poster yesterday. Or maybe I'm just reading into it too much. The question remains why is Oreki's sister's face hidden, maybe she has some distinctive facial feature which Chitanda recognized, it's kinda of a stretch though :> .

Just watched ep 16, another good episode in my opinion, 5 more to go. I agree with Dan - the pacing is really messed up in the last 3 episodes, basically Oreki is not doing anything for 2-3 eps and in the last 5min of this ep he pulls an idea out of the blue, but I guess it kinda gives room for Satoshi and Ibara to get some screen time/development. The "Oreki blushing at Chitanda scene" is getting a bit repetitive. The current mystery is at least interesting (then the shitty beach episode one -.-) and they are not overreacting like idiots about it so far. The sneaky stuff with Oreki's siste

Ye I guess. The thing that I kinda hate about JAST is that they pick up crapload of licenses and they just sit on them for 1-2 years without any progress. While Mangagamer picks them up and works on them right away, e.g. they picked up Otoboku and Eroge earlier this year and it's getting finished up at the moment.

Ryu summed it up pretty well, I have 1 thing to add: Currently Mangagamer mainly licenses "shitty nukige" (with an exception of Ef, though that was already translated) because the licenses for them are way cheaper then some bigger games. They don't have to worry about the music license for them and so on. They recently said that the business is getting a bit better and they hope to release some bigger stuff in the near future.

I would suggest Ghost Trick and the Ace Attorney series. They are not exactly VNs, but it's pretty close (in addition to puzzle gameplay) .

Agreed about the manga club, it's really not interesting. I would say that the first half of the episode was very nice especially with Chitanda's "negotiation test drive", then it went down a bit with Ibara's manga stuff.

Imo the animation is not "fucked up", but it not awesome either. Guess it could be worse :>
