Personally i think that future of gaming hardware will be in streaming of pre-rendered game display from dedicated datacenters straight to TV sets with keyboard/mouse/pad attached. As network infrastructure is developed, ping and bandwidth are becoming non-issue, and due to virtualization technologies, users will be able to "rent" computing power comparable to 2000$ price-tag rig at fraction of price.
