  1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [spoiler=Higurashi Minagoroshi-hen] Please tell me what happened this night. This is like a box with a cat inside. Please tell me what happened this night. I don't even know if the cat is alive or dead inside the box. Please tell me what happened this night. The cat in the box is dead. Frederica Bernkastel
  2. Let's be honest... Lemnisca Translations = First of all, they seem like great guys in general (from what I've seen). That's always a plus. Secondly, they're pretty fast, no? Been having good progress lately at least. And I assume the translation itself is accurate, though I personally wouldn't know anything about that really. And thirdly, they're a group who has decided to translate a specific type of VNs. And goddamnit, that's great. I'm so glad that there's a group who wants to translate stuff like I/O, 12Riven and Root Double.
  3. [spoiler=Higurashi Tsumihoroboshi-hen][Yes, yes it is. Serious Rena can be very serious indeed... and so amazing. How can you not love her?
  4. [spoiler= Episodes 14-16][ Yea not really a big fan of how it all ended or this season in general really, though it had some cool moments. I mean, I guess it's just because I for one don't really care much for Kirino at all... which is kinda funny considering the title and theme of the anime. Kuroneko, Ayase, Kanako, and maybe the others too
  5. Not complicated whatsoever. 1. Download what I linked you above - those 6 parts. 2. Extract the files. 3. Check the readme.txt and do what the first line of it says. 4. Done. That's it. You've got what you need for Higurashi.
  6. If you want to read Higurashi, and want to use the patches available for it, then get this pack I made: Higurashi - When They Cry COMPLETE All arcs (1-8), all patches, working. Fully updated as of - 20th of February 2013. Download (MEGA) Check the readme. You get all of the Higurashi main story in this pack, plus the patches. You obviously start reading the 1-4 arcs, then move on to 5, 6, 7 and 8. "What patches?" you ask... it's these ones -> Tweaking Higurashi Wiki A bunch of stuff that fixes/tweaks Higurashi. My pack contains all of it except the translation one, since it only "fixes" arcs 1-4 and I'm not even sure yet if it's better than the original translation. It could ruin the feels of the text since I know for a fact that it does NOT just simply fix spelling/missing words. I'd advice not to use it to be honest. Even if you do use it, you'll get the original translation/editing in the 5-8 arcs regardless, so. The PS2 art patches are optional, but the sound and music patches are mandatory. Anyway, my pack includes the entire Higurashi main story and all the patches available for it except the translation one.
  7. Finished Grisaia no Kajitsu. [THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION] Overall a really solid VN. But there are some parts of it that I didn't care much for. For one... I would actually have liked it slightly more if it was shorter. Not a huge deal in the end, but it felt like it was longer than it needed to be. Of course the length varies a whole lot between routes, so sometimes it felt right and sometimes it didn't. Yea, I pretty much always like a VN more when it's lengthy. This is the first exception. Shorter would've been better, for me. Shorter and more condensed. Again - only really applies to some routes. Yumiko's route was... not the best. Believe it or not though, unlike most I actually didn't mind that backstory as much myself. Perhaps it was due to my state of mind at that time or something, who knows. However, despite that, it still really wasn't as good as the other routes. I love the character though, she's a pretty damn awesome kuudere. As for Sachi's and Michiru's routes: they had their moments, for sure. Some very nice moments in fact. I think I like Sachi's route more than Michiru's though, because I like the character of Sachi a whole lot more than Michiru (she's my least favourite heroine in there, easily). But yea both routes had some nice stuff in them. And then Makina's and Amane's routes, which were both definitely the best ones for me. To be honest it's kinda hard to pick one over the other. Amane's has that really awesome segment in it (you know which). That segment is probably my favourite part of the entire VN. However, Makina's route [spoiler=Makina route] had that nice focus on Yuuji and some of his past, which the other routes lacked I think... so it felt like an important and exciting route - and that gives it bonus points. It was really good, yea. And very long, but... that's ok, since it was actually interesting. Yes, I know, [spoiler=Amane route] Amane's route had Kazuki. Yes, she's awesome. She might be my favourite heroine in Grisaia... maybe. So yea this route was also important of course, what with all that hinting for the sequels in the bad end and such. Love the OP btw, and the menu music. Some other songs too, though I can't say the soundtrack as a whole is all that fantastic or anything... it does the job though. Good visuals with some very nice effects and animations. Nothing to complain about there. Nice amount of extras after completing routes. Oh and can't forget: Great comedy in Grisaia. Many laughs were had. Aaaaaaaaaaaand that's it I think. Amane=Makina>Sachi>Michiru>Yumiko. Or maybe I do like Makina's route even more than Amane's route... TOUGH CHOICE. Maybe it really is better ---overall---. Well whatever. I give the VN a 8.3. Done.

  9. Agreed, knew about the existence of the fan translation, but didn't know that they've come this far with it. MORE PW (universe) STUFF!!! Also, I/O. Getting there.
  10. Yup, first thread I've ever made in this section. Higurashi Onikakushi-hen demo (= the entire first arc, but no more) with a full PS2 patch - voices, CGs, and even a fan translation that seems to be a lot better than MangaGamers translation... Yes, this is a thing that exists. Or at the very least it has existed at some point. On a site that I'll link below (THERE ARE SPOILERS ON THAT SITE - notcliche.com), you could download it some years ago. However there were some legal issues and the links have been taken down. I have not been able to find working links anywhere else yet. What it looks and sounds like: Pause the video before it finishes completely. Otherwise you will almost certainly get some spoilerish suggested videos at the end. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. If you get spoiled by it now, it's your fault. OBVIOUSLY don't go to the actual youtube adress yourself either, or you'll be in a fucking spoiler minefield. A site where you could get it from at some point: [spoiler=Higurashi Kai] Higurashi no Naku Koro ni – Onikakushi-hen Translation + Voice and PS2 CG!? @ NotCliche So... if anyone who has watched/read Higurashi already would like to help me track down this awesome little thing, then I'd be sooooo happy. It's just the first arc of the VN, but the first arc happens to be really really good. So to read it now with voices and all the CGs... yep, that would be wonderful. If you have not already finished Higurashi, then it would probably be best if you didn't go looking around for it cause you'll most likely get spoiled along the way somehow. Probably...
  11. [spoiler=Umineko EP4 Tea Party End]...
  12. Wowww, that certainly sounds good, hehe. Well, it's Nitroplus.

  14. lol, Kaiji otome VN... there's actually a Kaiji NDS game out there too. Has a lot of gameplay in it I think, which tbh ain't all that appealing... it's all about the storytelling, the characters, human psychology and Manly Tears in Kaiji. And I think the NDS game has the same story as the manga/anime anyway, so what the heck.

ZAWA! ZAWA! *tries to find a short non-spoilerish youtube clip with 'Zawa Zawa Zawa' in it... but is unsuccessful*

  15. 8.5/10. Nihihi~ It's nice that they're both in the picture. Still, the resolution could be bigger (150x150) - a 9 if it was.
  16. Why do you want him to drop Grisaia?
  17. Happy Birthday Exsi!

  18. One of the things I really like about the anime adaptation - the OPs and EDs.
  19. For anyone wondering, Ryu's avatar = Houzuki from Sharin no Kuni = Wakamoto Norio.
  20. There are some typos and such in the Ever17 translation, but there's a patch available that fixes most/all of those. Nothing wrong with the Sharin no Kuni translation from what I can remember. Same with A Profile I think.
  21. Grisaia no Kajitsu. Wasn't easy to make myself start a new VN after the epic Umineko, but hey it had to happen at some point. Might as well go with this one! ... Feels like I haven't read/experienced a non-07th Expansion VN in ages. I did technically read Kanon inbetween Higu and Umi, but eeeeh. Umineko took like 5 months in total for me to complete - that's including the time it took to wait for Chiru UmiTweak. The When They Cry series took over my mind completely. Seriously. And it started all the way back in the early parts of Higurashi. It's always on my mind now pretty much. It will NEVER leave. But you know what? That's totally fine. It should still be possible to read something new regardless of that fact. So let's see what Grisaia can bring to the table.
  22. Lolita Syndrome http://s.vndb.org/cv/31/7831.jpg .................................................. No.
  23. [spoiler=Umineko Chiru EP8]... ... More later. This episode has soooo much in it.
