  1. *cough* Kara no Shoujo, YU-NO and Cartagra *cough* On another note, after Yumiko I'll be done with Kajitsu. Maybe I'll write a somewhat lengthy post about it because I think there's a lot to say about it (and in fact a lot has already been said, but...).
  2. Time to resume this thread http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko4AYTnjQCc After this I was left wondering: MG, what the fuck are you -not- doing? It would sell like billions, billions I tell you! And Shin Koihime would be appreciated too... don't know why since I can't say I liked the first, but I want it nonetheless.
  3. Playing: mainly Umineko Chiru and Grisaia no Kajitsu Next: depends Looking forward to: mostly, in order - Subarashiki Hibi: it's a bad approach but I can't help having high expectations for this one - Cartagra - Kara no Shoujo 2: more like I'm waiting for it with fear... I wrote more than once that - (ex aequo) Comyu, I/O, Sayonara wo Oshiete, Air, Shuukaku no Juunigatsu ~Fuyu~ and Zoku Satsuriku no Django
  4. Phenomeno bgm is fitting but far from being unforgettable, personally I recall only one track that impressed me a bit. The big thing about Phenomeno is ABe's art, but it's not for everyone.
  5. I'll go with Rance, ty. A very agreeable choice
  6. I'm not very used to RPG in general and the only RPG vn I played is Utawarerumono, but in the near future I'd like to start a new one so... which do you think has the best gameplay among Yumina, Kamidori and Sengoku Rance? I'm under the impression that Rance is liked better and that Kamidori would still be better than Yumina but I have little knowledge of these games.
  7. If you are taking into account the years that ef has on its shoulders fine and agreed, but at face value Grisaia's art is better. In ef the backgrounds are impressive, but those that are really over-complicated are mostly the ones in the school and in the city with the people, that people aside (not that well drawn either) have nothing more of what Grisaia has and maybe something less, like Grisaia's awesome coloration. The charades of ef is very good if you look only to Naru Nanao's heroines, and while I'm not that pleased with some of Watanabe's -of which I'm a fan- sprites and cgs in the end Grisaia's charades is better. What's still incredible about ef imo is Makoto Shinkai, the system, Makoto Shinkai, the quantity of effects (more than MLA) and Makoto Shinkai. And Makoto Shinkai. Everyone can see how Minori spent a shitload of money on it. Talking about F/SN... yes, one could like that more as well as the art of Higurashi, Kira Kira or every other vn for all that count but that's it. I didn't quote the rest of the post but, for all I know, I agree on other points (done with the common but still playing the routes). For now the heroines of this game don't interest me (though Yuuji is funny, the guy made me laugh more than once, I think especially while talking with Amane) and the bgm is average. I read mostly Fujisaki's stuff; the writing itself is good, but there are scenes that talk about nothing at all/take too long to make a point. The lenght of the common isn't justified by the process of definition of the characters traits, those were defined well enough before Reflections on a Reflection, what comes next was not entirely, but mostly comedy for the sake of comedy. And that is halfway in the common... I'm finding this game too long but not because is 70 hours, is long because is a... can't really say atm but maybe 40/45 hours? vn stretched to last 70 hours.
  8. Dunno about the shoutbox, but it is written in Grisaia (and it's true, though iLoveTsundere is still right).
  9. If I try to click next nothing happens
  10. Q: I'm not sure, what's the wizard asking for here? http://i40.tinypic.com/1zcoi0j.jpg Because I thought it was asking for the path but I read something about a password
  11. Following what's written in the topic I edited out the ]. How is it now?
  12. Is it fine now? I read the topic but mistakenly thought it was only for those you added as friends. Something else I should edit?
  13. Well, she was operated by doctors, not normal people. I read that piece of KnS again: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombay_blood)
  14. Rewrite (at last!); done Kotori and currently going through Chihaya's route. I liked Kotori because of her seiyuu and the way she speaks (Chihaya's way of speaking is quite funny too), and I was a little surprised with the lenght of the common route, I read it was like crazy long and then... it's longer than needed, fine, but it isn't THAT long if you leave alone the minigame, I think. To me the common route of LB! is still monstrous in comparison, because I played nearly every minigame until the end (and again: fuck you, mysterious life forms). Is it true that the minigame in Rewrite is needed for the Oppai ending?
  15. I played it in 2011, so not exactly yesterday, but And something else While I was talking about KnS with a friend of mine he told me that probably they talk about the same bird in the first Umineko too.
  16. Beware of Katahane, it can make people diabetic (poor Tarte nonetheless, it didn't deserve to fail ).
  17. He's quite apathetic; it true that this manifest itself a lot more in the relationships with others than during his job (he's proactive, but at times you may think that he could/should have done something more) but obviously a japanese has to be stakhanovite and so, even if he's apathetic, blatantly slacking off isn't an option asd Jokes aside, let's say that technically his apathy consists in him doing what he has to but lacking the emotional commitment that your usual main character would have. The reason for which he is interested in the serial murder cases is valid and made clear during the story, so you won't find incoherence in the fact that he actively works to solve them (I don't remember how much the game let you know about it while playing the first route, I'm writing supposing that you know just a few things). I'd add that a person can be apathetic without being abulic, although usually it's like that, depends. And leave alone the retarded bit, it's mostly a rant. Mostly because there are actually a few characters that behave as such that are very good like Okabe, S;G main, that basically is a 18 yo guy with chuunibyou... he's even my favourite -male- character among all the vns I read, so I don't really mean harm.
  18. Vndb -> Proactive Protagonist -> 2.6 But it should be said that he's quite apathetic, and has his good reasons to be so; that said, if you don't want to put up with this I'd suggest avoiding it. It's plenty of retarded main characters out there that nonetheless could suit you tastes better.
  19. For anyone interested: Age's president wanted to make the anime adaptation of the trilogy but for sponsor-related problems we endend up getting MLTE adaptation and statements declaring that the animation of the trilogy would have depended on the success of MLTE anime sales. And MLTE sales were mediocre. It should be all on ANN.
  20. You didn't read it? Am I misunderstanding?
  21. I came, simple as that. Would have gone crazy over physical copies but I'm already happy enough (honestly more for Cartagra, for some reason I fear the idea of playing a sequel of KnS XD). I just remembered this post about what we would like to see translated asd Now it's time to hope for Gunjou no Sora wo Koete, J.Q.V. and Saihate no Ima.
  22. I recently finished YU-NO and yep, it deserves at least a comment I want to start praising what I liked the most about it: the characters. I don't have a specific preference, I liked the cast as whole; listing why I'd say that I appreciated how their predicaments weren't strumentalized to create stories focused only on cheap melodrama, that even if they cracked a lot of stupid, lewd, funny jokes and puns their dialogues aren't the ones that you'll find in the usual mindless comedy and basically that they felt like characters, not speaking stains on the screen. Also, the art surprised me because I didn't expect to end up liking something so old but I can't say the same of the OST... because I already knew that it was good I liked the story and even if there were a couple of things that could have been explained more properly I don't mind; the characters' routes are good and overall they were able to make me empathisize with the protagonists, who more and who less, while the mistery was quite interesting. From the sci-fi point of view I suppose is at least fine, it's pretty well structured and the explanation aren't boring but some concepts are too much on the pure fantasy side for my tastes. It's also well written, but I have some qualms with: - the gameplay, way too invasive - the amount of fanservice (though the h-scenes are short and the number isn't high at all) - the last route: the first half is the only part of the game that is slow and quite lacking in substance, while in the second half Overall is one of the best VNs I read until now and is quite high in my preferences too.
  23. I plan to play Umineko soon and I listened to a few of its BGMs (and true, those I listened to were really good), but is it public domain music?
  24. It wasn't exactly the last, but I played Quartett! Probably for the first time I was sorry because a vn was too short, once you play the first route there's not much left (even if I didn't exactly love Li Shuhua's route). Imo it doesn't really lack anything but still I would have liked to read more of it... I'll try Period sooner or later.
