Well figures. Just reminds me how many VN's there are out there that haven't been translated. The eroge/VN we non-japanese get that trickle through translation are few and far between. It likely wouldn't be as great as my mind is dreaming up anyway, vagueness and possibility can lead to a great imagination. Reality is often cruel, and disappointing. Still, if anyone knows of it being translated someplace, I'd love to read it sometime. Meanwhile, Merry Christmas EG types. Here's some ecchi. As opposed to some of the more blunt hentai I've been posting since this is a holy day and

Here's a few more as we move closer to the holiday. Also found this one while surfing through some Muv-Luv stuff online the other day. Makes me wish her H-scenes were as spicy in the games. Bit more hentai than Ecchi, but I figure, xmas bonus. *nods*

Clannad, Fuko's Path If you've played Clannad and don't know EXACTLY what I mean by that quote, you need to go play her route again.

With Muv-Luv finished, and waiting for that final episode of the TE anime to come out on xmas eve, I've decided to cleanse my palate as it were, with Clannad. Years ago I watched the anime and fell in love with the simple aesthetics of the story. The all ages bit however kept me from delving into the novel. I think at this point I need to experience it even without the adult content, so I'm playing and so far, enjoying. I think the part that gets me the most is the music... that darn dango song. x.x Now if they would just hurry up and finish translating the Air VN. Playing Clannad like t

I always feel bad when I read issues from hosts of websites that require ad views to keep going. The nature of how ads are able to disrupt, infect, and just ruin your computer for no good reason makes Adblock a vital thing to me. I don't have the money to support directly, nor do I have the money to get a good virus protection and malware removing software on my computer(or the ability to replace said computer) to deal with the side effects of openly viewing ads. So I for one, am very thankful for the registered user ad free mode, and if it's any worth, I really do appreciate all the work

What is the last eroge you finished, and what do you think about it?
Haika replied to Maxar's topic in Eroge General Talk
The opening sequence starts with the first invasion of Japan by the BETA. According to the Muv Luv wiki, the anime then speeds up and happens during the same year, but several months prior to Takeru showing up in the latter part of October. I'm only 4 episodes in, but I doubt it will show any of the major battles or even character cameos(though the Shogun was already shown) from the novels. Seems a bit strange for them to introduce the world with this side story, but as a fan(new, but still strong) I'd love to see the main story animated with all the characters I've grown to know and love -

Yeah, I know TE is supposed to be chronologically before the events of Unlimited and Alternative, but I've also heard that people really dislike it. But I do plan to at least watch it to see the world depicted fully animated. -

Ha... whew. Just finished Muv Luv Alternative. What a ride. I'm not sure the ending was nearly as impressive as I thought it would be, but the little epilogue thing did have me smiling with a goofy grin on my face as I watched the normal interaction between Sumika and Takeru. In the end the final cut scene wasn't translated and that irritates me a bit, but I suppose it's not the end of the world, you got the idea of what was going on. However, if anyone has that final scene of them chatting in the classroom translated or even better a video of it subbed, I'd still love to see it. Over all t -
More Muv-Luv Alternative moments: Seems like ages ago I started this VN, and it's still not over yet. But that feeling of heading into the final stretch is strong. Wanted to post this moment before I got to the end, and had it overshadowed by whatever the finale might have in store.

I think I'd probably go for Katawa, Lilly's route. Extremely few VN's have had that sort of calming emotional slide that that one gave me. (also I'm in the Dec 20 club, but I still think the end of the world thing is kinda silly)

Rewrite actually looks quite awesome. Though I'm usually not a big fan of all ages games, vndb rates that one really highly, so I might check it out. However reading a partial translation usually isn't my thing. Either way, want to finish Muv Luv first.

Going to be hard to find a game that will run without the locale. However, I will second the suggestion of Katawa Shoujo, it should run without changing(one of the very few that will I believe), and is a great VN with a strong story. Also, Shame on you, if you haven't read Heaven's Feel in Fate. That's like reading halfway through a paperback and then putting it down because a chapter that was good ended.

Yeah, sadly, as far as I know the other VN's these characters come from don't have a translation, or I would be more interested in playing them. Either way, I have nothing planned for today and there's snow sticking to every inch out there. So, plenty of time to pour into reading today. ^.^

So, had one of these moments again today. Two actually. Both in Muv-Luv Alternative, and both very spoilerish.

*staggers back from an 7 hour read of Muv-Luv Alternative, and realizes he only managed to read one battle* I've said this before, but sheesh. This game just keeps going, and it is NOT letting up with the feels. Where I am in the novel: The intensity of the novel is amazing after how flat parts of Extra and Unlimited felt. It has such a great tone to it that I find myself worrying a bit about finding time to play it. Diving in for 7 hours tonight shows that for sure. The last time I played was a couple days ago because I had other things to do and didn't feel like spending the whole

*hums to himself* It's beginning to look a lot like christmas... (blizzard warning today for my area, X.x)

Well, I didn't exactly memories the dates on when that sequel came out, but either way they were still released in Japan on the PC in a fully adult version. The fact remains that they are censoring the game from it's original content, because they think the american market can't handle it. It's bullshit, and I won't support any game or company that pulls that garbage. I feel the same way about the butchery done to dubbed anime here in the states because they want to force it into an audience that it isn't intended for. If Jast wants to try non-adult games, don't start with AN ADULT GAME.

Interesting Articles For Otakus Everywhere
Haika replied to someguy withaname's topic in General Discussions & Debates
I think you should probably put a title on the links at the very least. Assuming you don't want to organize a quick summary for each one. Posting random links with little to no explanation on where they link to, is a bit... untrustworthy. But either way, nothing wrong with this thread, might come in handy from time to time to have a resource like this. -
I always fondly remember the neko in True Love. And it totally blindsided me when I first got it, because there was little way to predict it would happen.

How Do You Feel: Anime into Live Action
Haika replied to Breakthrough's topic in General Discussions & Debates
Hmm, the only thing I've seen a bit of live action for is Death Note, and I never really went crazy about that like so many people did. After reading this thread, I may go look up that Ranma live action, though I don't really expect much from it. That said, the silly rumors about a cowboy bebop movie are based on internet culture and western obsession with the dubbed version of that anime. If there is live action of it made, it likely will at least be made in the country of origin. It seems silly to think that they would use anyone from US movies. I think like any sort of movie productio -
Yeah, I admire an intent to play through a game fully without a walkthrough. So good luck on that account. I've found it harder and harder to do myself. I get bored with things to easily, and if I struggle to figure things out it becomes even more of a strain to keep going. Even now as I continue this playthrough of Muv-Luv Alternative I'm struggling getting through some of the long conversation sequences and classroom information dumps about military tactics and weapons and alien life forms. It's all interesting stuff, but the game is turning out longer than I expected. I'm a bit worr

Hum, all these games seem new generation to me. My definition of classic games is a bit older. I fondly remember the first Final Fantasy, playing in the upstairs den of my childhood home, spending hours grinding out levels that would bore me to death these days. Even before that I remember playing on our old Tandy PC with such games like Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse Space Adventures. One of the 'newer' games I remember playing back then was a racing battle game called Megarace. Along the same era I played a bunch of dos based RPGs, like the original fallout, and the prequel

I actually liked Koihime Musou quite a bit, but yeah, the gameplay was a joke. In other news. I just got to the gut punch of Muv-Luv Alternative. Oof. That is all.
