  1. I extracted the scripts for MGQ and compared the translation to the original. It's pretty accurate and gets my stamp of approval.
  2. It's probably best to just try MGQ out yourselves and see whether or not you like it after 3-4 hours.
  3. *points and laughs at everyone* Rogue is certainly a beast. It's too bad he's leaving the scene after MGQ3.
  4. It seems like this game is revolved more around the characters and their interactions than anything else. Though it does seem interesting to have the protag as a vampire and observe his lifestyle, the fact that my instincts tell me it's revolved more around hscenes and comedy is unfortunate -_-.
  5. How's the story? I may give this one a spin if the plot/story/setting is quite involved. So far, from what I've seen, it just seems like your typical JRPG story etc etc. I'm much more of a fan of science fiction / mechs / space ships / etc than swords, shields, and magic. Would this game be worth my time?
  6. Game wasn't too bad, quite pleasant for a casual playthrough. The biggest problem is the tedious gameplay which can be solved using Cheat Engine and MangaGamer.com • View topic - Yumina - some cheats Example, I went from level 1 to level 90 of Cracks in under an hour. This beats spending 30+ hours on this nonsense by cranking repetitive battles. 7. Altered Fable is a parody of the series. Listen to whoever explains the game when you start. Still enjoyable and funny though. Had a fun time going through it once I realized it wasn't a continuation. It really lightens the mood contrary to Alternative.
  8. SpoilerAL can usually be used to cheat with these types of games. Here's how to use it with Kamidori as an example; Seiha Translations - View topic - Howto: Cheat You will be able to use it with this game given you find the right codes for it.
  9. I will admit, I also carried the misconception of euphoria being merely some sort of crazy torture nukige and was expecting to finish it in less than 5 hours. I was wrong, very wrong, and so are those who haven't completed the game. I will also admit that some scenes are just horrid. I had to turn my head and "ctrl", or skip those scenes until I was sure they were over. It was that bad. There were only three scenes like that. Two scat, and one.... Uh... Something else. This was out of a total of, what, 20 hscenes? People seem to be stopping in the middle of the common route which is wher
  10. loppez always puts a smile on my face whenever he makes a post. Oh right, rage thread, all TLs suck, will never read a TLed VN again.
  11. That's because VNs are categorized as PORN GAMES and not novels in the Western Market. Type "porn game" in google and you will see what I mean. Looking at what's out there with porn games and official VN titles there are a lot of similarities. Like I typed before, the target audience is different. Apparently there aren't many who are into reading VNs with great story but would rather fap/laugh/enjoy to whatever.
  12. Right, I got lost when trying to maneuver my way between the squabbling. Back on topic... There's obviously a lot more going on here than what was mentioned. Instead of nitpicking fan translations AKA volunteer work I'll try to think about the commercial side of things. If the demand of VNs was much higher than it currently is in the west then I am sure we would be seeing a lot more TLs of better quality VNs. There's just not enough demand for this type of game outside of Asia. I think you've all noticed that many more VNs (of better quality) tend to get TLed to Chinese and Korean. It's
  13. I don't think anyone would mind that "VN" if it was something like this swfchan: wakfu.swf (#102657) XD
  14. I finished euphoria last night. This VN... Was something else entirely. Don't let the misguided conception of the public outcry turn you away from this title. The violence/"bad things" is just a shallow part of the plot. The story/plot is really good and character development is interesting to watch. If you like really dark VNs, then this will suit your tastes. The adaption of the VN is an injustice to the title and focuses on things that this VN is really not about.
  15. Translators/Projects, like people, come and go like buses so it's not surprising, especially if it's volunteer work. Another thing worth noting is what rewards one gets when translating VNs? A few pats on the back? Some praise? Compared to... A lot of criticism? There are not many people in the world with the appropriate skills willing to put in the time it takes for VN translation.
  16. Yes, after a certain point, school is absolutely worthless in this day and age and is actually interfering with the progress of ones growth instead of promoting it. I am just surprised it is taking so long to get rid of this horrible system. Maybe another 30-40 years. Oh, right, language exchange, at least in my experience (mainly a bunch of college language brats), is a waste of time. If you truly want to learn a language, go live in that country and figure things out for yourself.
  17. Since people here are extremely sensitive to whatever small information can be revealed about the sequels, I will go ahead and answer your question with a spoiler tag. But just know that I am not spoiling anything, I am merely explaining which path the sequels chose. [spoiler=Grisaia "True Route"]There is no true route. The sequels chose the harem, meaning that Yuuji hooked up with every girl with small factual changes in each route.
  18. At least in the USA school system, you have the choice of learning a foreign language starting in middle school. Two years is required for graduation depending on the school and to apply to a university. I think English became a popular universal second language after WWII.
