  1. My 2 1/2 year old desktop for heavy gaming: OS: 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium and Linux as a backup RAM: 4x2GB Corsair CPU: Amd phenom II X4 955 @ ~3.2 Ghz (although it's over-clocked so it peaks higher than this) GPU: Ati radeon HD 4800 HDD: 500GB (but I have about 2TB in removable hard drives) I use my laptop for VNs and some games that don't have any graphics (DF, etc.) but it just has an on-board GPU so it inherently sucks at anything above that...
  2. How was the translation quality on cross channel? Considering it was ixrec (even if it was his first project) I'm assuming it was fairly decent.
  3. Waiting to read cross channel until this is complete, so this is actually pretty cool. I think the editing started in the middle of March, so an optimistic release data might be in early/mid May?...probably a little bit latter in latter May or in July. Nice nonetheless.
  4. Might abstain from this one as I haven't actually played any of these. And no singing this week I see. I guess OMA won.
  5. This quote made me laugh a little too much. Have to love the Sharin humour. A few of my favourites: YES Yang Wenli transcends the idea of 'staying on topic'.
  6. Re-installing windows 7 and then putting all my stuff back on it. Only then do I find that I had used the 32 bit version instead of the 64 bit one, and less than half my ram was being used... I am such an idiot...
  7. Seconded. I really enjoyed playing rewrite, but I enjoy it for completely different reasons than I enjoyed things like Clannad and Little Busters. My main issue is that while there was lots of engrossing bits, there were also of other parts that I didn't care about as much... like Chihaya's route...
  8. A 6 year old RPG game...with H-scenes! That said, I agree the lack of any sort of cohesive plot 90% of the time is annoying, because it could have been really good, otherwise. Oh well. I'm slowly, slowly reading Kira Kira. It's pretty much what it says on the tin. Not that I expected much more, mind you.
  9. Good luck in getting it to work. The emulator is surprisingly power hungry, I found. I suppose you could try the usual: try to bump up the processor priority and throw more RAM at the process to get it to go faster, but that won't do a whole lot if it's running slowly because of your graphics card.
  10. And that's why I have a filter on my email to move those emails into a separate folder.
  11. Another favourite of mine from Katawa Shoujo is
  12. Kamidori is fun, but not because of it's (lack of) story. You very much have to treat it like an RGP to enjoy it.
  13. A serious one from Ever 17 And a not-so serious one from Katawa Shoujo
  14. Really? I thought it was always about OMA singing.
  15. Oh dear, that's off the list then. Although I might do a speed run through it at some point once the translation is 100% since it'd be cool to see some of the other characters like Hayase etc. (although I'm not expecting any actual story content in the slightest). I really hope that the Muv Luv chronicles are translated eventually. On a slight detour, does anyone know if the light novels such as Schwarzesmarken, Euro front and Total Eclipse are translated? I know there's no proper translations on baka-tsuki (barring the first chapter of Schwarz.), but someone I know hinted that they might b
  16. I have a lot of favourite music from VNs, here's a random assortment of a few: Stein's Gate: Gate of Steiner An orchestral piece from Muv Luv that isn't talked about a lot, but I really like. from Rewrite from FSN (the Realta Nua Edition) , Rebirth the Edge and all from sengoku rance. I don't remember much from the game, but I ended up liking the music. from Katawa Shoujo , and In the town of never-ending rain from Little Busters (I haven't even read the VN yet, haha) from Ever17 (I couldn't find a non-spoiler video, so this is a piano version inste
  17. Bahaha. I'm not keen on lolis myself, but if you're going to write about them, at least form cognitive sentences with good grammar. Additionally: "Cum hoc ergo propter hoc" In other words, correlation =/= causation; lolis don't make plots bad.
  18. We should get someone like Tay Zonday to sing it. Holy god that would be incredible.
  19. It was the product of a 9 hour flight with an elbow in my side. Who knew that could be so effective at getting you to write? I'm also tempted to write another review on the flight back since there's a lot I learnt while doing this review.
  20. Loved Lucia and her route in rewrite. Definitely Lucia >>> Chizuru. And seriously, how the hell did Chizuru keep getting positions of command when she was so indecisive >.> . Meiya would have been a significantly better choice in almost all circumstances...
  21. Yeah it was just an excuse to use that picture...
  22. That's the conclusion I had when I played it (its definitely one of, if not my favourite, VN). It dealt with a lot of interesting themes and the character development was the focus of the series, which made for a great read. I could prattle on a lot longer but I already did that in my MLA review, so I'll restrain myself . The only two giant flaws are MLE and MLU (and the pacing in general was a little off).
  23. Sorry Gerard, but Sharin No Kuni is the best VN in this pack. Better start doing vocal warm-ups.
