What kind of gameplay was it? Turn based? Auto-resolve combat? Side-scroller action?

Get the all-ages version. Only thing 18+ has is the tacked on h-scenes which don't actually appear in the story and a few CGs are edited to be more mature, that's about it. If you don't want h-scenes, you won't miss anything by playing the all-ages version.

No idea what's up then, maybe you could fiddle with your graphics card settings and somehow set it so that it doesn't keep the aspect ratio. Or wait for someone who has the game to see how it works for them.

Hmm, I don't have the game anymore so I can't test it, but can you try setting it to that 2nd option (Fullscreen), click ok (save settings) then exit the game, run it again and try selecting the Fullscreen(旧) option? I think that 3rd option is supposed to stretch whatever you selected previously, that's why it's putting black screen around windowed, i.e., technically "windowed" was still the -last setting-. That's the only thing I can think of, because of 旧.

Can you take a screenshot of those settings?

旧 doesn't mean Fullscreen, it means "former, ex-". Maybe you picked the wrong setting?

Actually my bad. I searched around a bit and it seem that this writer didn't write Chihiro's route. Apparently, he wrote Miyako's and Kei's routes. The other writer wrote Chihiro's. Still, I can't find any reliable info on it. Basing it on some info I found about the fandisc. *shrugs* In any case, if you liked that route, you'll probably be into this too. I could have sworn the same guy wrote it since it felt similar.

Finished eden* yesterday. I haven't read anything since like November and I've became an expert procrastinator, so it took quite a while. Since this VN is coming out in 2 weeks, I though I'd write my impressions. Spoiler free. Starting off with the negatives. The first problem I had was the with the very slow and boring beginning. If popularity was the main factor for "which VNs get TL'd" you'd have Eushully, August, 暁Works, etc. VNs TL'd left and right. When it comes to these looong VNs, it's more about finding someone (capable) willing to spend a fuckton of time doing it for free. Not a lot of people would tackle such a project for "fun", despite its insane popularity.
