Error - "An error occurred during the data decompression.". First time I see this error from hoshizora. If it was the patch, then it would just mean that the installer can't extract the files, but no clue what would cause the game to throw a decompression error. The possible causes could just be corrupted files or you don't have some permissions on your Windows Account. You could try downloading everything again, patches, game, etc. Also make sure that your Windows Account doesn't have any odd letters (é, â, etc.). These suggestions are kind of a long shot, but I guess it's worth a try.

It could be one of those games where you need to change your Format and Location to Japanese and Japan, respectively. I had a few games crashing, not showing text properly or just freezing at some point without doing that. Edit: Read through this thread as well [Hentai game] [120330] [Triangle]. Maybe the problem is in the patches.

Right click on the exe/shortcut, go to the Compatibility tab and put it in Windows XP (SP3) compatibility mode.

^ All that doesn't matter much. Translators usually just pick up VNs they personally like and not what's high rated. Sure, if the game is rated high there's a bigger chance some translator will take it, but it all depends. Look at Baldr Sky. It's one of the highest rated VNs and you don't see translators fighting between each other to TL it. I guess you can just hope for the best.

That's kind of the issue tbh. The whole idea was that MG gave a permission an IP that they don't own, which is kind of funny to me. Of course they won't make any announcements because they can't give direct permissions to something they don't own. The only way I see how this "went down" is that someone from MG told that project leader of yours that if you manage to TL the game, they will make a deal with you / buy the script and try to get it licensed that way. In turn, they won't just C&D your project because of the possible licensing, like they did with DCIII. That's at least what I think. Imagine MG going to meeting with BaseSon and say "oh yeah btw, we gave permission to some guys to TL your game".

You sure that the Koihime project is not a troll? It seems kind of insane to me. Like, Fuwa wants to TL koihime (lol) -> they contact MG and get approval -> suddenly MG is negotiating or some shit with BaseSon. I suggest you start off by translating Baldr Sky, Rui wa Tomo and Dies irae. Those should be fairly manageable. I think they have nice GUI as well, so it's just what you were looking for.

^ It seems kind of unlikely to find so much translators just like that all of the sudden. Especially for eroge translations. Also, what do you need a workplace for? It's not like you're be developing some software where everyone needs to communicate or whatever. I think you have a slightly wrong idea of how this is done. Get 1 guy to hack the VN and get the scripts, 1 guy to TL it. At that point you can't actually do anything else until some TL gets done, maybe just image editing and UI fuckup. Few editors will have very little work if the TL guy is slow and QC is for the end. There is like no need for anyone to gather up at any place unless you want to just hinder the progress more. You also seem to be aiming for multiple TLs at the same time. Just no. You can be happy if only 1 good medium size project (30-50k lines) sees the light of day. Don't aim too high and large. Sorry for a negative and skeptical post, but what you wrote seems to be unrealistic on so many levels. I do hope that I'll be proven completely wrong, but it seems unlikely.

Can't really tell anything from the random error. Can you try and see if it happens with the raw game (without english patch applied) ?. Isolating or narrowing down the problem should be the first priority. Apart from that, you can try to re-install directx or maybe repair your registry with Malwarebytes or try 0xc000007b Error Repair Tool. Also make sure you have all of the needed Visual C++ runtimes installed. These are all just long shots, but they may fix it by some miracle.
