  1. 4 votes for "working against," lmao. I wonder how much work they've put into their crusade, or do they consider being angry on the internet "working against" something?
  2. You can't really say that it's a fact people don't want to give sekai project any more money. I'm sure there's a few people out there like that, but a far bigger factor is how anemic the tiers were. They expected you to pay a lot of money for very little in return. Most SP kickstarter campaigns gave you adequate rewards for your pledges, but this one threw that out the window. They recently added extra stuff to the various tiers and that has helped things a little.
  3. You post this right as they were turning things around and started doing really well? lol
  4. Himawari is famous in Japan, it's probably the most popular doujin VN ever made. Its story is by all accounts quite fantastic. It comes very highly rated by critics and fans alike and is a personal favorite of the translator on the project. So basically if you want to know why MangaGamer chose it for translation, it's because it's very popular and the translators love it. Seems like pretty decent criteria to me. edit: While I think the art on the doujin version is actually pretty decent, the MangaGamer is releasing a PC port of Front Wing's remake, initially released for the Vita, with all
  5. Actual plot? Like, a sequence of events and hardships that the characters must overcome, and grow from their experiences? Literally none. Girls fall in love with each other within like a day of meeting every time and commence scissoring. That's the entirety of the sonohana series.
  6. Inganock, Sharnoth, and Gahkthun are the only three translated games in the series.
  7. 4chan claims every translation ever is a machine translation. The truth is much more complicated. But the list posted on reddit was from an unpolished common route patch released a year ago and the team, after rushing the patch out the door for christmas, has claimed that they're going back and giving things a more thorough pass. So you should probably wait if you're really concerned about it.
  8. Were you not aware that there's a whole series of games taking place in that world? Play Sekien no Inganock as well if you haven't already, it's great.
  9. The person who made the patch has been inactive on their forums for the last couple weeks, so I'm not sure.
  10. Well, for a lot of people the main issue with the PS3 version wasn't its platform but its age rating. That issue isn't really resolved satisfactorily with the patch that russian team released.
  11. For Tasogaredoki no Kyoukaisen, who knows. That team seems to have the habit of stalling at the very end, not getting the necessary things done to finish the release. If there was some major obstacle holding release back, I wish they'd post about it, there are people who can probably help them. As for games under the MangaGamer, JAST, and Sekai Project categories, they're official companies who sell their products, so there are a lot of extra hurdles they have to jump through to release anything. MangaGamer and JAST tend to spend a lot of time testing their games, and JAST is especially inf
  12. When I asked him over a year ago, he said he didn't want to make patches because it might promote piracy. He seemed apparently unconcerned that a youtube translation disincentivizes game purchasing even more than a patch would.
  13. I think it's easier to figure out on your own than its predecessor was. I just winged it my first time and got the best ending you can get on your first playthrough.
  14. Are we posting Michiru screenshots now? http://i.imgur.com/iKfsT3j.jpg
  15. The Satsuki route is almost as long and is of equal importance, imo.
  16. AJTilley has been churning them out at a rate faster than Winged Cloud and are somehow even shittier at what they do.
  17. Work is definitely progressing. They've been checking over and QCing the other routes recently before finishing the Sena route. So far, Maya, Hinata, and Akari routes have been checked and at least partially QCed. The translator will move on to the Sena route soon. At this point, maybe look to an early January release instead of "Octember" (October through December, obviously). Note: I'm one of the QCers, but this is still all highly unofficial. Don't take this as gospel or even include it in the weekly updates. Who knows what could happen, route rechecks, additional QC passes, sudden illne
  18. Clannad was retranslated from scratch. They did a pretty good job at it. Most of the VN translation community seems somewhat positive on it, even the usual hyper-critical crowd like Herkz. It's not perfect, but it's a whole lot better than the original. The fan patch was indeed really horrible. Well, it was simply bad during most of the common routes and heroine routes, but some routes and especially the After Story were beyond awful.
  19. Nope, no one has a clue. Aroduc probably hasn't completely whigged out on it but he hasn't posted anything about game translation in quite a while so expect it to take a long time. edit: Actually, I lied. While we still don't know what that other project he was working on first, a month ago he had this to say: Source: Tenka Seiha So right now, we'd be in the stage of things where he's taking a break from the secret project he was doing first and attempting to speed through BB2. He may have a partial patch to share with us in the near future? Maybe, don't bet on anything. It is u
  20. Because they licensed the console version. From your earlier post, it seems that you're misunderstanding something. The PC version has not been licensed, and there has been no indication that an english language PC version will ever be released. Since this is the console version we're talking about, it has to conform to Sony's standards, and that means no h-scenes. Fruitbat Factory wanted to release a PC version but there were licensing issues.
  21. I'm still willing to bet that for the first couple years they genuinely thought they'd be releasing a free fan patch and were earnestly attempting to do just that. And after they enter into negotiations with Key, what do you want them to say? The obviously can't say that they're actually in talks with Key. I brought these points up earlier but you seem to be ignoring them. And again, you keep putting the blame on Doki when it was actually team fluffy/fruitbat factory who are the ones behind things here.
  22. But anyone who passes on translating a title because someone else is working on it is likely going to translate something else. And those who give up on translation immediately upon seeing someone else claiming a VN first probably wouldn't have fully finished either. So ultimately we get the same number of translations regardless, they're just different translations. An example is the Noble Works team. I probably shouldn't be saying this, but I happen to know they wanted to translate Dracu-Riot but due to the uncertainty flowing around that project last year they decided to do Noble Works inst
  23. That's an unreasonable viewpoint. First of all, it is Fruitbat Factory, aka Fluffy, who are the ones licensing Little Busters for official release, not Doki. Fruitbat Factory are the ones who initiated and underwent negotiations. Placing all of the blame on Doki feels really misguided. I also very heavily doubt that Doki adopted the project from Fluffy with the intent to stall it until they could sell it. I mean, it's not even them who are selling it. They did say that they were in negotiations with Key for the last year, but in that stage you really can't talk about anything. There are NDAs i
  24. You act as if this version has nothing to offer over the previously released patch when it has three entire new routes plus a lot of common route stuff added. You know what? I'm not a key fanboy, I dislike some of their games and don't get into a fervor over hype like many do, but even I really want that new content even though I've already played through the old patch. Enough to buy it. So there you go. Anyways, Doki never had an obligation to you to finish and release the patch. A lot of people are acting like it is their right to download and play a free fan patch of EX which is a pretty
