if you already installed East Asian language then you don't need to install applocale anymore, it works just fine with applocale you have to right click and choose to run with locale japanese, but if you already installed East Asian language then you can just double click to install any japanese eroge without using applocale note: you can also try ntlea as alternative of applocale link NTLEA

it seems like DirectX problems...try to update your DirectX to newest version Edit: as killer said try to uninstall your graphic driver (use software like revo uninstaller to have complete uninstall of your driver) reboot your pc and install the newest driver

that's direct-x related issues Issue #5: d3dx9_29.dll is missing - DirectX related issue. If you get any errors related to this file, here's how to fix it. well, if you don't want to change your OS to 7 Ultimate then i suggest you google xp with sp3 (i'm still using this and haven't found any problems playing eroge so far)

you could try kanon and clannad (from key, developer of little busters) muv luv (muv luv and muv luv alternative) steins gate (has no h-scene but it has great story) edelweiss and edelweiss eden fantasia(from mangagamer, kira-kira publisher but they're much funnier than kirakira IMO)
