    I think I will need times to get used to the art though. But based on the description the VN seems to have a dark theme for the story, and that intrigues me.

    I'm a bit skeptical about The Void when I found out that it was made by Ice-Pick Lodge Studio, the same studio who made a game called Pathologic. Pathologic is their first game and I've played it before. It seems like "weirdness" is this studio trademark since Pathologic also has weird and mysterious atmosphere in it, but unfortunately, the design, graphic and the gameplay of Pathologic is very problematic and VERY unbalanced that I've no choice but to stop playing. However, since The Void was the studio second game and it was released three years after Pathologic, I'm willing to give this game the benefit of the doubt and see whether they have improved.

    Yep, you absolutely can't. The battle is really easy and simple but it can drags on for a looong time, especially if the general keep using their power. (I remember fallen asleep in front of my laptop during one of the battle.) It's really troublesome that we can't save or change to the windowed mode during battle. I can just give a little advice, endure it. Just try to endure it. (or find a 100% save, that is.)
