Katawa Shoujo is nice for an introduction VN. Sharin no Kuni was also one of the first ones I played and immediately loved it.

It's pretty good. I mean, you don't exactly play Key VNs for the art, but if you've ever played a Key game, you pretty much know that the common route is very light-hearted and comedic. You really get into the heavy drama when you get into the specific routes.

Wow, there are some easy things to miss with this episode.. they definitely went into a good amount of effort... your enjoyment and overall reaction to the episode might be different depending on if you got it or not. [spoiler=episode3] Kanata is the manga artist for both Maschera and Meruru. That's why Meruru is modeled almost exactly like her younger sister, Kanako, and that's how Kanako actually knew the Meruru song. EDIT: Also, the guy is modeled after the male lead of Maschera and the girl with the black ponytail is the Meruru announcer xD Good stuff.
