  1. Yeah, it's Grado. You're totally right about the soundscape and sound-leaking. I really like them
  2. I do, but I consider them visual novels.
  3. I think it's good. Video spam is no fun. Slint - Spiderland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Qg6kPtVAM4
  4. It's been 3.5 years since I first saw Serial Experiments Lain and just thinking about that show still makes me feel empty. Not in a good way, either.
  5. I'll just document the kanji I see so I can come back and study them later. If this isn't helpful to anyone let me know and I'll stop. 巨乳 - Huge breasts 進む - To go forward/Advance 余裕 - Composure 振る - To shake 余韻 - Reverberation/Aftertaste 増す - To grow/Increase 隙間 - Crack/Opening 蹴り - Kick 説教する - To preach 破綻する - To fail 沈黙 - Silence 復活する - To revive 日差し - Sunlight/Sun beams 散らかる - To be in disorder/Messy 絶叫 - Exclamation/Shout 放っておく - To leave alone 価値 - Value/Merit 引っ張る - To pull(So strange having a っ between two kanji, IMO) 証 - Proof 引き金 - Trigger 光景 - View/Scene 爆発 -
  6. I'm kinda weird in that I am usually emotionally detached from the mood of a work. If something horrible happens to a character I'll feel bad of course, but like in an unnamed show in which the entire human race goes extinct in the most violent and terrible way possible, I got super fired up. I thought it was awesome that somebody would have the balls to make a show like that, and the show itself stimulated me intellectually like no other(I'm not talking about the robot show you think I am, by the way). I could talk about that show for months.
  7. Some kanji I'm learning. 状況 - Situation 子宮 - Womb 自室 - A person's own room 肩車 - Piggyback 脚立 - Stepladder 亀頭 - Glans 否定する - Deny 届く - To reach
  8. More Agalloch. So good =3 Agalloch - The Mantle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmoe7wwm4HM
  9. Hahaha, I occasionally play a game that has enforced in-character rules, on all channels. I used to play Sword of the New World/Granado Espada. It's pretty fun, despite what people say about it. http://www.picamatic.com/show/2012/03/01/12/54/8254211_800x500.jpg
  10. Wow, the last thing I was expecting to see today was all of the Type-moon characters doing a dance together. Thank you.
  11. If you liked the detective style narrative, you could try Phoenix Wright?
  12. There are so many epic openings. From the widely lauded Cowboy Bebop OP to Evangelion's OP, there are tons of spectacular ones. Some of my favorites are Mononoke, Elfen Lied, Samurai Champloo, Higashi no Eden, Maria Holic, Last Exile, Texhnolyze, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei(all openings) My absolute all time favorite has to go to Paranoia Agent though. [video=youtube;-anabfAg06U] Second place goes to Serial Experiments Lain: Serial Experiments Lain OP(HD) .mkv - YouTube
  13. I'm not sure you'd quite get anyone to truthfully tell you that they thought F/SN was poorly drawn. Personally I liked the art in Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night.
  14. Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIzoyPfPKO4
  15. I voted for blonde(Blonde dammit, yellow is gross), white, grey, blue, and green.
  16. I think more sound goes away from my head than into my ears sometimes. When I take off the headphones I can still hear whatever I was listening to. These are the ones, and as you can see the drivers are plainly visible from the outside. Don't mind him, he's just being rude for the sake of being rude. 構わないでね。_/(O.o)\_
  17. I consider Rune Factory to be "part" of Harvest Moon, in the same way I consider Persona to be "part" of Shin Megami Tensei. I know I'm technically wrong, but they're similar enough that I don't mind classifying them together for the purposes of this thread.
  18. Love can last until both individuals die, and longer depending on your theory of the universe.
  19. Perhaps it would help me if you explained what your idea of 'entertainment' was. Does it entertain you to see fictional people get hurt? To watch epic fictional battles? To see fictional characters having sex? To read fictional jokes? To look at beautiful fiction art? Some combination of those or maybe some other reason?
  20. So girls are only supposed to like games specifically aimed at women? My experience with such fiction is that it tends to have less substance than fiction written without paying special attention to audience. For instance, J.D. Salinger's work should appeal to more women than 'Twilight', in an ideal world IMO.
  21. You could always make a second account if you really wanted anonymity or the option thereof. I can understand how it would be frustrating for people to treat you different because of who you are though.
  22. Wow. I somehow missed that first sentence and thought you were a guy through that whole post. Hats off to you, good lady. You're the only person online who acts like I think women should act lol (Not sure if that sentence was incredibly sexist or right on the mark )
  23. That's kind of a silly way to think about it. After all, humans create fiction and consume it precisely because we empathize with the characters. It's natural to feel the same emotions as the characters do, albeit to a lesser extent. So much of our world is digitized as of 2012 that it's impossible to not occasionally get upset over 1's and 0's. Your favorite MMO just glitched? You lost 5 hours of hard work. Your computer got a virus? You might have to lose all your personal files. Somebody post something nasty about you on Facebook? You might have to do damage control and/or lose some frie
  24. I use headphones that leak all the sound to the point that someone outside of my room could potentially hear the squealing of voice actresses through them. They're the highest quality headphones I have and I don't really feel like switching them out every time I feel like playing H-games or watching porn.
