I've certainly never seen anything like that, and I've been around the block. I've also never seen a human-like black character in Japanese media. Sad. There are a few hints at what you're looking for in anime like R.O.D. and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, but nothing concrete. I was reading something about Grim Grimoire, and that seemed like a kickass game. I'd say your best bet is probably manga though, just because there's so many of them.

I also have a Beyerdynamic DT150 around somewhere, usually not satisfied with the level of amping I get from my little CMOY for those, though. When I need sound isolation I stick in my Soundmagic PL30s.
