  1. Shinsekai Yori (partially)
  2. Yes. I uploaded a 1GB file before on MEGA and it still works fine.
  3. Since they announced a very specific release date for it, it makes sense. I hope that holds up for their Shiny Days release too (2015-08-25), 'cause then I can download that 17gb behemoth with my current internet connection.
  4. You want something different from anime? Then Hoshimemo was a bad choice. An obvious bad choice for that matter. It's a VN where you romance the various heroines by doing their routes, and the heroines are pretty typical. If you can't stand that kind of stuff then... um, yea, don't read it. There's several other kinds of VNs out there, just like there are different genres for anime. Hoshimemo does have a few more elements to it, but it's mainly about what I mentioned above. Yes, the characters develop further in their own routes. It does get more interesting. But it's not a good sign if you don't like any of them at the start. It's normal to hate Chinami btw. Everyone does. G-senjou no Maou is more focused on a dramatic main plot, so you'll probably like that one more. Maybe a lot more even. I recommend reading Saya no Uta someday if you want something very different from the usual. You won't find that stuff in anime, I can assure you. Although if you can't stomach horror or gore, don't bother. Nope. None of those have been translated. Is it? I hope it's only recommended to people who are actually looking for romance and beautiful art, because that's what Hoshimemo is mainly about. That's a fandisc. Something to read after finishing the main game.
  5. This one applies to the ecchi thread as well. http://i.imgur.com/EhfzehA.jpg
  6. There's a decent chance that this torrent would work: [Xbox 360] Ever17 ~The Out of Infinity~ [NTSC-J][JAP] :: RuTracker.org However you need to create an account for it, and the site is in russian. But I did that myself before to grab a torrent for this, so it's possible. Don't remember the account details though since it's been awhile, so make your own account. Edit: That torrent you tried already is this one http://www.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=333609 right? Well there is one seeder for it. Tried it myself and it's downloading. You just gotta keep in mind that he might not always be uploading/be available.
  7. Mm. The UmiTweak patches also adds voice acting btw. That's a pretty big deal. It's a better patch than the Higurashi one for sure.
  8. Happy birthday Fluffy!

    Look how fluffy it is.

  9. If you're talking about the ones I linked, then no that's Bern. Though Erika has blue hair too.
  10. It's a good anime on its own, but since you've read the VN you'll find some faults with it (naturally). Some parts are better than others. The animation in the first season ain't exactly great - it's better in the second season. First season covers 6 arcs in only 26 episodes, which is also pretty bad. Music is good but definitely not as good as the soundtrack in the Kai VN. Since you read the VN you didn't get voice acting, so that's one good reason why you might wanna watch it. Anime is more in-your-face with its horror, rather than in your mind. It's not nearly as paranoia inducing. It also doesn't emphasize the mystery as much, one reason being that the all-cast review sessions are completely absent. And finally the emotional scenes aren't as emotional in the anime... not even sure exactly why, they just aren't... it's probably a combination of reasons, like the music + dialogue being shorter and weaker + timing of the scenes. Oh and some scenes are changed from the VN. Not in a good way. But yea I'm comparing it to the VN now. Don't expect it to be as great as that. However purely anime-wise, it's a good one I think. And it's nice to see the characters in motion for once, plus the voice acting. Definitely watch Higurashi Rei though. I haven't read the VN of it myself, but I've heard from others that you're not getting much more by reading the Rei VN over watching the anime adaptation. And I can believe that, plus the VN translation isn't even complete anyway. Rei is a fandisc btw that you're supposed to read/watch after Kai. No. Actually if you're worried about that but still want more Higurashi, read the manga. It's really great (for the most part). Seriously. Plus there are some side story mangas that you won't find in anime form or in translated VN form. http://myanimelist.net/manga/1264/Higurashi_no_Naku_Koro_ni:_Onisarashi-hen + http://myanimelist.net/manga/1265/Higurashi_no_Naku_Koro_ni:_Yoigoshi-hen They're pretty cool. Yes. There's Rei which I mentioned above. Watch that. Later on there'll be the new Hou chapters on Steam, but that's gonna take a while. There's no sequel to Higurashi's story. BUT, Higurashi is the first part of the When They Cry series. Umineko is the second part. Go read that. Remember to get the UmiTweak patches. Well, I recommend watching Higurashi Rei first though. It's short.
  11. It's the art from the pachinko games. example: http://i.imgur.com/wliykkc.png http://i.imgur.com/MLwg1Y4.png http://i.imgur.com/H7OmiHp.png http://i.imgur.com/UbZXYa7.png http://i.imgur.com/rGfpBYU.png Though I guess they'll have to get some new variations of them since I doubt there's enough existing for the VN.
  12. Huh? Lie? What? The teaser is real. HF is getting adapted. It'll be in movie format. That much we know. Just to clarify - it might be a misunderstanding in that thread that HF will only be ONE movie. That's the main point here. We obviously want it to be multiple movies, and honestly I think most people thought it would be. But... maybe it'll just be one. We don't know for sure.
  13. Heaven's Feel will might just be ONE regular length movie. http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1401574&show=0 I don't fucking even. edit: Apparently it's not actually confirmed to be one movie. There might've been some misunderstanding/mistranslation. Not sure, they''ve been talking about it in that thread though. I really hope it's not true.
  14. I wasn't too impressed with the music in S1 either. S2 has better tracks. The full season 2 OST that comes out later is going to be really awesome tbh. Looking forward to it.
  15. Thanks dude!

  16. Thank you Patchouli :D

  17. Thankssss rah :p

  18. Thanks Rin! :D

  19. Thanks Fluffy :D

  20. Finished yet another really good VN you don't hear too much about: Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer. One thing that stood out for me rather quickly was the writing. I have to give props to whoever translated/edited this because it was so good. Both the descriptions of everything and the dialogue between characters. Spot on. It was easy to grasp yet advanced at the same time(?). Dunno how to explain it exactly, but I just never felt detached from the story. Nothing felt unimportant in the text. Very tension-filled story, great action (some of the best I've seen in VNs for sure), nice music. Since I went with the remake I got the improved art and added voice acting as well - also very good. I recognized some of the voices, like Tamura Yukari. [spoiler=Kikokugai]And yes... there were some surprises. I did not see those coming. At all. Usually I can at least somewhat predict what might happen, but... not this time. But hey that made the final chapter even better. http://i.imgur.com/BSxxVGQ.jpg This screenshot speaks for itself really. I'm starting to think that, yes, I have a thing for... these types of characters. Because I like her more now after those reveals (1. orchestrated the hell she went through, 2. extreme brocon, 3. yandere). I dunno man, there's just something to it. Nice twists, in any case. Plus Haojun's motives. I wasn't able to see those either until the last two chapters. The battle between him and Taoluo was heavy to say the least. Aaaand the ending was certainly different. Ruili got what she wanted, that's for sure. And I guess... Taoluo also got what he wanted. But we don't know what it'll actually be like. We can assume that the transfer of his soul was a success to some extent, and that Ruili and Taoluo are now "one". But I wonder what that means in the physical world. Are they both in Ruili's gynoid right now? Or maybe they were transfered to something else? Maybe I missed that part, or it doesn't really matter in the end. Oh yea, and chapter 4 was nuts. I honestly thought that Taoluo's fight with Ng would end up being nothing more than dialogue or something since Ng wasn't a martial artist. NOPE, NOT REALLY. Crazy assault with the russians, PETRUSHKA, and All-Consuming Poison. http://i.imgur.com/tm6NHRW.jpg Not sure about rating, but it's definitely 8+ at least. No way it can be less. spoiler box edit: It was chapter 4, not 3. Just the wrong number though - what I said about it stays the same.
  21. It's done now. By the way, you made the right choice in waiting. This series, just like F/Z, would be quite a lot better to marathon than to watch on a weekly basis. Also remember to get the BDs for Season 1 at least since those are actually out right now. NT > [uTW]_Fate_stay_night_Unlimited_Blade_Works_-_00-12_[bD][h264-1080p][FLAC]
  22. It's happening. I mean it's getting updates now. It might be out in summer/end of summer, as herkz said I think on reddit.
  23. And now you can play Steam Higurashi in widescreen... http://i.imgur.com/q9qoMDX.jpg It's not gonna get much better than that quite frankly. It looks way better than the PS2 game like this (the mod uses PS3 assets). The only thing missing pretty much would be the mouth movement effect while characters are speaking. https://github.com/higurashi-mod/onikakushi
