Also, good news: Someone is making a voice patch and a PS3 sprites/background patch that is compatible with the Steam version of Higurashi - https://github.com/higurashi-mod/scripts

 

That was so fast. It was only like... 2 days ago or something when that anon did the voices up to chapter 4. And now it's completely done.

 

edit: Actually, where did you get the RGD info from?

Every team has a different idea of what QC means so you can't really make any judgements on that. Also apparently there are still technical issues to resolve that their hacker hasn't gotten around to yet.

Irotoridori no Sekai looks a bit interesting based on the description, the rest, i'm not even remotely interested, the VN's are good for their story, if you take that away or in this case start to translate something that probably won't even be read or played by 10.000 people, that in my opinion is a total waste of time, well, almost total waste of time, shouldn't forget the minority, anyway, i don't care about what kind of VN is as long it has some kind of story which is not total crap, heck, even MGQ has a decent story even though it's a total nukige. I would also want to mention that i know that it is not really my place to criticise anyone who translates no matter what that is considering that i don't support any of the translating teams with anything at all, i'm just pissed off about the fact that yandere translation dropped Aiyoku no Eustia for almost 3 years now, and nothing interesting comes out nowadays.

People who are waiting for the gift-wrapped fanTL patches shouldn't complain in my opinion. Translators pick up stuff they like. I doubt many would pick up a VN based on how many people are going to read the finished TL. What you consider to be a waste of time, others may really like. It's hard to believe that you don't have any interest in any of the recent VNs. I do understand how you feel, though. I used to be bitter about the state of the scene before as well, but you really can't do much about it other than hope for the best. It's a miracle that some of the big VNs even got TL'd, like MLA or Rewrite. I don't know if there's anyone other than ixrec who would TL something that huge for free.

i just wanted to ask where are you getting the to heart 2 updates? the site i knew of no longer has updates for it. granted i might be dumb and not seeing the site. also excited to hear sakusaku might be done soon and that they aregoing to do another project. (yes i know this is news from last week but i wasn't around for a while)

I seriously thought that project died awhile ago - a nice surprise.

 

As for Irotoridori, I'm guessing they have to start from scratch huh? The guy working on it went MIA back in '13 as far as I've heard. Still, I'll "wait and see" I look forward to it, but I'll see how they do with Sakusaku first before getting hopeful.

 

Voice patch for Higurashi is pure win - too bad I'm abstaining from reading the series until it's ALL re-released. sigh, why didn't someone make this voice patch for the originals? =/ (which i stil have buried somwhere on my HD) oh well can't really complain~

The lead for the project has posted in various places like reddit, fuwa, etc. The site has been dead but now he has been using various other sources to say that the project is still alive and is giving updates on it. He is giving an ETA of about 6 months for the full patch.

Haven't tested it though.
