I've been re-reading FSN (with the Realta nua patch from BL - the new music is meh sometimes) for the first time in afew years - man, i've forgotten just how much of a derp Shirou is, lol~ What episode are they on now? Been holding off on watching the series until its fully out.

Noticed Katawa Shoujo comments in the SB earlier, reminded me of it (it was the first VN I read that I thought had any depth - only things I read before that were things like The Sagara Family, or Tokemeki Check-in! - junk - compared to todays stuff anyway.) This scene was the first piece of "art" I ever found beautiful or appreciated for more then its asthetics alone (ever, be that compared against anything in real life, a movie, etc). It truely moved me and I think played a factor in my developing interest in VNs as a whole back then. EDIT: Game cg, so can be considered a kind of a spoiler - so keep that in mind.

MGQ NG+ Just for any that don't know about it and may be interested, it starts you at the beginning as usual, but with all your previous memories up to the final battle of the game. Completely re-worked story to incorporate the idea Luka retains all knowledge of the previous timeline (ala muvluv etc). Still currently under development, so the story will drop off into the "original" about halfway through~ So you can either wait, or slog through it now. (I'm going to wait)

This is not happening. This is not happening... (mumbles to himself, having just ran away from IMHHW)

If my Heart had wings (patched with the hscenes/better english). Dear god, I may have to drop this one...its... just... so... boring. I want to like it - the characters are actually fairly interesting and have potential - but so far, 90% of the text is aerodynamics and planes. /snores (yes I know it's a VN about a airplane club, but seriously, they need a life outside of it too, right!?)

The only thing on my mind about this title is who copied who first - Witcher 3, or DA Inquisition (After the mess that was DA 2, I suspect the second). But time will tell, it does look pretty good - I'll have to play it myself to judge.

It's strange, I've lurked on alot of forums, but this place has been anything but elitist as far as attitudes go - some jabs here and there - but honestly a fairly leveled-headed group. I think you may be slightly blowing his words out of context; generally speaking, the TL scene HAS gone to shit - not to say any one persons work is "bad" - it's just very rare for someone to see a project through to the end. Last few years have been one giant cock-tease after another for VNs picked up and then dropped, leaves at least myself alittle cynical. Being new is nothing to be defensive about, as I said in an earlier post, everyone starts somewhere. Hell, it's better then me who doesn't even try. And most of us - and I think Decay too, do apriciatte any work that helps develop the scene; I sense you just mistook it as a personal attack. I admit I don't know one way or another the current quality of anything from fuwa, but thats cuase I can't even visit their forums. Ultimately - everyone can improve with time and experience - and if you have confidence in yourself and the work you do, you have no reason to be self concious. EDIT: An after thought - I kinda agree, kinda disagree with Decay about studying more before even digging in - on one hand, you will have a better grasp of things and be that much faster with more study; but learning is a process that goes on FOREVER, so where can one draw the line? I believe getting your hands dirty is just as practical - if not abit slower - and permanant, as once a VN is translated - nobody ussualy updates/re-translates it. EDIT2: final thought(I swear) - no matter what, there will always be someone that thinks your translation is shit - there are many that openly scorn the current Fate/Stay Night translation - but myself, and plenty others - think it was done just fine. (but that's a topic for another thread) So, it would only be to your benefit to thicken your skin a little - becuase what Decay said is -nice- compared to some of the critism that exists out there in the web. Just like real life in that way, if you let what some guy (seewhatidid?) says in passing get to you, you are going to have a pretty stressful life. Keep the best, screw the rest.

Yeah - can't really say i've ever liked episodic VNs. (with exception to those that contain their stories in each volume, like Grisaia) But then again could be they are just playing it financially safe, see if it's worth porting over. EDIT: In other news, discovered an update on Koiken Otome:

I wouldent know about fuwa, as i'm banned from the forums for unknown reasons (I suspect it's related to the global lock on the scratchpads, traffic funnels through a single ip when going there from what I understand, so when someone cuased trouble it locked said IP - for everyone not already a member heh - or somesuch, im no expert~ If it's as you say, then I don't mind Moege - it's something for them to start with, if they decide to persue it further afterwards. As for "good enough" meh, a reasonable amount of effort should always be made - but plain and simple "good enough" will never be - no matter how good or bad it is. It jsut depends how low/high that bar is to start with I guess. I like to think if those that are new and want to focus on future projects will decide to up the ante when it comes to quality, as they get better. (or they might jsut slack off even more, being used to loose standards ) A lack of "old guard" doesn't really bother me though, everyone is new at some point - what concerns me is the demise of interest in the genre as a whole - but then again it is a cultural fad - it's just a case of when it loses its appeal. (I doubt anytime soon, but someday~ )

I have a feeling that was coming regardless of the scene. I don't pretend to know much, but from what I can tell it's basically alot of "old blood" getting bored/burnt out, and not many stepping up to fill the void. (or hell, maybe they smartened up and joined Sakai, where they can get paid - sort of hard to believe big players like Takajun would vanish so completely despite the experience and skill he developed.)

It boggles the mind, first they act completely xenophopic to expansion, despite lving in a digital age where you dont even need to deal with the hassle of cross-border b.s. - and now that they are actually willing, they envoke strange business decisions. It's like they don't want our money lol...

My top pick for romance would be EF - the others are also good examples, but for me it stands head and shoulders above the rest.

Liking it so far, but...
