I thought it was a purrfect (hurhur) fluff VN; unlike the Sakura ...stuff. My concerns, just as with Romanesque - is public image. It really seems like groups like MG and SP don't consider how the "equalitists" will respond to these overly sexualized, clearly sexist titles hitting a mainstream platform like Steam. I mean, I With that major platform lost, VN devs would likely lose interest in localization of any further works. They are already fairly shy after Illusions Rapelay got pounded into the ground. Call my a bitter cynic, but I'm fully convinced 80% of Steam users have mush for brains, and will complain about how there is too much reading and not enough boob/panty shots.

meeeeeh...I dunno about Rance..but i'm not a big fan of the rapey type. I always kinda felt Tomoya(clannad) was a pretty decent badass MC - or at least, he's not the typical whiny bitch-boy you often see. Otherwise I'd have to agree about Grisaia - some people complain about him being OP, but they just jelly. EDIT: https://vndb.org/v57#main -Morita Kenichi was another decent badass - though his personality is fairly typical looseboy style, so you can expect some obnoxious behaviour from him. (or at least i'm "pretty" sure looseboy was involved with Sharin no Kuni)

Just finished it myself. It had some good ideas but was way too short. Can't really recomend it unless you have money to spare. The music in it was pretty solid though, I can at least praise that.

Hard to say tbh, Herkz has been steadfast so far in assuring it's continued existence over in the comments section at Commie - but "Useless/Project Management: herkz" typically means recruitment and orginization - at least in the real world. Scine I've seen his name pop up in the creds of at least 2 recently released projects, I'd say he's busy atm putting food on the table, and cannot focus on a unpaid project (assuming he gets paid for TLCing official releases). it's a real longshot, but try installing a community codec pack (if you dont have one already) and ensure it's up to date - there are rare cases where some VNs need certain codecs - though the odds of it being that are pretty slim. EDIT: beyond that, I can only think of the more basic stuff like running it in xp compatibility mode. If it's any comfort - your better off skipping her arc (but that's my own massive biast opinion heh) either way hope you can get it running~

Going to x86 shoulden't effect it - in fact, that's better because it's an older game. x86 basically means it runs stuff as 32bit instead of 64bit - and I'm fairly sure Hoshizora no Memoria is a 32bit app. Can't give any real advice, as it's been afew years since I read it - but I recall there were at least 2 or 3 patches that had be installed in a certain order. If Staircase is still up and running it might list the patches + order. (unless you have already done those steps when first installing the game)

@Riddle - your spell suggestions really helped out, thanks. Can any of you give advice on how to open up Princess Fianna's route? She's the only one I haven't been able unlock - I'm assuming theres something I should/should not be doing. Over in downloads a poster was saying something about the party near the end of the 1st year, but it was kind of vague. EDIT: NM, figured it out.

Grateful for the advice, I was finding it easy at first, but about halfway through the quests really just start to pile up and the dice just lag behind, lol.

After having played abit of Romanesque - gotta admit I'm a little worried about the inevitable shitstorm that may occur if this gets enough attention on Steam's greenlight. Even if they make it "all-ages" Jast is pushing out a fairly "old-fashioned" interpretation of woman, at a time when feminazis groups are in full-throttle. It's like Jast didn't bother to look outside their bubble at all to see how various groups of people are acting in the media scene this past year. If this gets the wrong kind of attention - it could seriously sour/deter any interest to localize VNs outside of Japan.
