After playing the first two I wanted to play Alternative, but in the meantime I played a few other games with such endings as Alternative. Since then I spoiler myself before playing an eroge to be sure there's no such an ending ... then I found out what happens at the end of Alternative. Maybe it's really good, but the ending is the highlight of a story in my opinion ... I just don't like it if some of the most important characters die at the end (or it ends up like in Cross Channel). Btw, Muv Luv Alternative is rated #1 on vndb for a good reason. means nothing. No,they did have significant meaning.Scores are voted by players like us so VN with high score literally means many people like it .The reason why some VN are underrated is because they don't have translation so no-one rated it . Ok, the average score is only in the same area as the one from Demonbane, but yeah, just look at the other rankings. And please, don't say anything about the story, it's much more complicated than the description says, because they only says half of the story. And the reason for that is because not many people play them (outside of japan I supposed,) or that they are too lazy to vote. And the reason why not many people play them is because they don't have english translation. But of course, you must have already know all this. So why, did you still call this VN underrated? No one is underestimate or overlooked this "underrated" VN. They don't get exposed much because they don't have english translation. If, they got a translation and still get lower vote, only then can you say that they are being underrated by VN player. The top 50 (or so) are mostly filled with them which got a translation ... *sighed* VNDB rank ain't perfect, that I've to admit. However, judging from you statement, one of the reason why you think that VNDB scores are nothing is because only VN that has an english translation got high and many votes, while untranslated VN only got at least a dozen vote or less and thus they are marked by you as "underrated". -,- (another reason is because "CoD got high scores" = "that means scores is useless"...hehe) For me, VNDB scores can be taken seriously ONLY when it's for VN that has an English Translation.
