What eroges are you playing right now?
Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to Harkoz's topic in Eroge General Talk
I saw the post in the Activity Stream, and immediately thought that you were talking about F/SN. -
I actually avoid re-reading VNs. Unless, it's a really perfect VNs that re-reading it won't effect its original charm and awesomeness, and it proves to be very worthwhile to experience the moment again.
-
Exactly what kind of qualification does a partial patch need in order to be listed in this ErogeGames site? Devils Devel Concept - Dropped Mother & Daughter Hearttouching Lesson - Dropped 11eyes ~Tsumi to Batsu to Aganai no Shoujo~ - Dead as ever. I see no reason why Hatsukoi partial patch should not be allowed to be listed in here for people to download if these partial patches can. Oh well, whatever.

I guess this ought to make things a bit clearer. Cross wants to read only the incest route, so the patch should be able to serve him well, I supposed.

Visual Novels Translation Status [02/03/2013]
Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to Ryu's topic in Eroge News
I doubt that we'll have to wait for a year, though. Ixrec will restart Dra+Koi translation project IF he sees no resolution from Nitro+ end. That at least, we can be sure of. And hypothetically, in the event where Moogy was to rage releases his patch, there're no reasons for Ixrec to drop his project "again" because this time, it doesn't involve official releases. -
Go and post about it in here then. This is bound to raise a few questions. One, what kind of VNs should be and shouldn't be on this site? And two, what makes Hatsukoi unsuitable in the first place? The Megaupload link in TLWiki has been dead for a very long time. However... Not really.

the psycho-lunatic who is trying to revolutionize the world of Eroge and lead the new order of VN translation to fight against the older order and the purist. And no, I'm not joking here. He has made his intention clear many times before. Go read that machine translation patch yourself. -

Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to Ryu's topic in Eroge News
lol I don't think so. Nitro+ is a pro at stalling the English release of their VNs. Wut? If they released a patch, that would've rendered the Nitro+ "official" localization as useless. So no, they won't. -
Visual novel of the week contest #6
Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to switch's topic in Eroge General Talk
What? No vote for Tayutama... Either people don't want to vote for VN that they haven't read yet, or Tayutama just isn't popular enough. -
Visual Novels Translation Status [02/03/2013]

Rest assured. There will never be a Material Brave translation project. Ever. (: Not to say that there are still so many good VNs from the past years that haven't got any English translation. -
EROGE or VN's you want Translated

I believe it has a translation project. -

Well, you can now relax knowing that the author of the review will be the one translating the game. -
Which visual novels would you recommend me
Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to Ado13's topic in Eroge General Talk
I thought of that too, but I'm pretty sure he would still ask which one is the best out of all the top rated VN in vndb. lol Also, I would have had trouble writing my own thoughts for the VNs or putting the writers name. And my previous post also served as my own reading list. Yep, I haven't run out of good stuff yet. -
Which visual novels would you recommend me
Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to Ado13's topic in Eroge General Talk
Pretty neat explanation right there. However, I'm pretty sure Sengoku Rance doesn't have much story in it, though. Anyway, here's my recommendation: G-Senjou no Maou & Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo by Looseboy from AkaibeiSoft2. Both are currently the top two VNs in my list. By the way, I believe I should make it clear that G-Senjou are leaning more towards thriller rather than a mystery VN. Kyokugen Dasshutsu 9-Jikan 9-Nin 9 no Tobira by Uchikoshi from Chunsoft. One of the mindfuck VN I've had the opportunity to read. You can either play it using a real Nintendo DS or an emulator if you don't have one. Saya no Uta by Urobuchi Gen from Nitro+. If you're looking for something "special" and you're not the type of person who is too obsessed with ethical/moral conduct, this VN is good for you. Just be sure to play the game at night (alone in the house, if possible), turn off all the lamps, wear a headphones, set the volumes high enough without you going deaf, and you're good to go. Ever17 -the out of infinity-, Never7 -the end of infinity-, and Remember11 -the age of infinity- of the Infinity Series. Be noted that I haven't got the time to play any of the Infinity VNs, but for what's it worth I've heard a lot of praise for Ever 17. Muv-Luv & Muv-Luv Alternative. Muv-Luv Alternative is currently the No.1 VN in VNDB so anyone with half a brain should at least be curious about it. You should, however, read Muv-Luv first before you read MLA. If you're wondering why, Desi and the others can explain it to you properly if you ask them. Clannad from Key. If you like Rewrite, you probably want to check out the rest of Key's VN. Kanon from Key. If you plan to play it, then remember to download the voice patch in here. Planetarian ~Chiisana Hoshi no Yume~ from Key. Voice patch here. Little Buster from Key. Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ from Key. Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer & Jouka no Monshou by Urobuchi Gen. Sekien no Inganock -What a Beautiful People- & Shikkoku no Sharnoth -What a Beautiful Tomorrow by Sakurai Hikaru from Liar-soft. I strongly recommend you to read it. Forest by Hoshizora Meteor from Liar-soft. You can check Harlequin review for Forest in here if you want some general information/background regarding this VN. Utawarerumono I think Yachi would want you to play it ASAP, right Yachi? x) Grab the voice patch in here too. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni & Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai by Ryukishi07. You can also use the PS2 patch for both of them if you wanted to. (inb4 Butler's -.- ) Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni - Dai Ichi Ya by Ryukishi07. I strongly recommended it. Cross†Channel by Tanaka Romeo. Most people consider this to be one of the best VN, a 10/10 material. I should probably read this after I'm done with my current reading list. Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO by Kanno Hiroyuki from Elf. Also one of the best VN ever according to most people, a 10/10 material. In the meantime, you can also check Harlequin review for YU-NO in here. Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tooya, & Fate/stay night by Nasu Kinoko from TYPE-MOON. You should have heard about F/SN before, so you can probably imagine how epic TYPE-MOON VNs is. Also, you should search or ask for Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tooya music files and how to add it into the game, since the original VN doesn't have music I think. Zanmataisei Demonbane, Hanachirasu, Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, & Phenomeno from Nitro+. Don't forget to download Zanmataisei Demonbane voice patch here. Symphonic Rain Strongly recommended. Swan Song by Setoguchi Renya. Also strongly recommended. Canvas 2 ~Akane Iro no Palette~ Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish upon a Shooting Star- from Favorite. If you like loli, you would want to read this. Crescendo -Eien Dato Omotte Ita Ano Koro- by Tomohiro Minakami from Digital Object. It's just somewhere between mediocre and decent for me. Has been in my stalled list for months. (I will finish it, one day. lol) Kara no Shoujo from Innocent Grey. Strongly recommended or Radiantmadness won't be amused. Yume Miru Kusuri - A Drug That Makes You Dream from Rúf. Rumor said that it was written by Tanaka Romoe but I'm not sure, though. Anyway, this is my first VN, ergo the VN responsible for introducing me into the medium. That's what make it special for me, haha. Kana ~Imouto~ & Kazoku Keikaku by Tanaka Romeo. Also, download the uncensor patch and music patch for Kana ~Imouto~, and the uncensor patch for Kazoku Keikaku too. Quartett! & Period from Littlewitch. The VNs is decent enough to read, but the problem lies in whether you can somehow get used to Littlewitch artistic style or not. Katawa Shoujo from Four Leaf Studios. I'm very sure you must have heard of this VN before. Narcissu & Narcissu Side 2nd from Stage-nana. True Rememberance Osananajimi wa Daitouryou ~My girlfriend is the President.~ from Alcot. Kamidori Alchemy Meister from Eushully. It's a RPG VN hybrid. Check it out if you like gameplay VNs. Daibanchou -Big Bang Age-, Rance - Hikari o Motomete -, Rance 2 - Hangyaku no Shoujotachi -, and Rance 3 - Leazas Kanraku - from Alice Soft. Reason is the same as above. Duel Savior & Xross Scramble from Giga. Reason same as above. Wanko to Kurasou from Ivory. Pretty decent VN, but just that. Moon. & One ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ by Maeda Jun from NEXTON. Eien no Aselia -The Spirit of Eternity Sword- from XUSE. The English version is all-ages. There's an uncensor patch that will replace the censored CGs. However, do realize that this patch will not add the omitted H scenes back into the game. Edelweiss, Edelweiss Eden Fantasia, Kira☆Kira, Kira☆Kira Curtain Call, Dengeki Stryker, & Deardrops from Overdrive. All of Overdrive VN ranged between mediocre and good. If anything, I like Deardrops because it has Riho~~♥ ef - a fairy tale of the two. from Minori. Castle Fantasia ~Seima Taisen~ Dustmania Grotesque ~Kaitai Sounyuu Shinsho~ from Belisama. A special recommendation from me and iLoveTsundere. : D The order in which I listed all this VNs are just random and doesn't have any meaning whatsoever. Have a nice day. That's all. -

I don't get it. It isn't like people need to like every aspect of a VN in order to give it a 9/10. Does the words "the good outweighs the bad" doesn't apply to your principle? Nvm, I guess I should perhaps explain my scoring method a bit. 1. My score was largely based on the storyline, characters, writings, what I found unique about the VN, and a bit on my own personal enjoyment since I consider those aspects to be the most important when it comes to Visual Novels. Stuff such as art, seiyuu, sound effect, and music doesn't exactly have much to do when deciding my overall score, unless when they prove to be remarkable in which case, I will add 1-2 point for it, or in the event where they are very horrible and annoying, I'll subtract 1-2 points. As for Sharin, except for the seiyuu and CGs quality, I don't really take the rest into account. 2. As I've said before, I'm not fond with Sharin's music but does that means the music is bad? No. So I don't see the need to lower my score. 3. Even if the CGs, Chapter 3, and most of the endings are bad/disappointing, Houzuki presence alone can make them all seems somewhat trivial matter.

Visual Novels Translation Status [01/27/2013]
Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to Ryu's topic in Eroge News
Somehow I feel like the project has been cursed. Anyway, here's hoping the new translator finish his job properly and doesn't go MIA suddenly. -
Except that Wojo and I are talking about Rewrite, not Sharin no Kuni. lol And just for the record, I was semi-agreeing with Wojo, even if my previous post doesn't show it, though. Having three different writers for Rewrite are both a success and a problem in itself. Knowing that Tonokawa Yuuto (of Little Busters!...Well, he wrote the scenario for Komari and Yuiko in LB), Tanaka Romeo (of Cross†Channel, Kazoku Keikaku, Kana ~Imouto~, Saihate no Ima) and Ryukishi (of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni, Rose Gun Days) has teamed up for this VN surely must have intrigued most people who valued good storyline and writing to see what kind of miracle was being produced by this combination. In that regards, I consider it a success. Key's have caught my attention. However, the differences brought by having multiple writers are apparently too obvious to be overlook. The abundant fighting scenes in Chihaya's route (Tonokawa Yuuto), and the sudden shift of writing style as soon as you entered Lucia's route (Ryukishi) are one of the biggest examples. I still think that characters can behave differently depending on the routes they are currently in, but I also can't deny that having different writers plays a role in causing characters inconsistency at some aspect. This VN can be a bit messy at times.
-
We have a different taste, that's for sure. (And as far as AkabeiSoft music goes, G-Senjou OST is what I considered the best.) I think it was like that because their behavior was mostly based on their development during the route they're currently in. (In addition, there's the fact that the game has three different writers. So it's not even going too far to say that every route might as well be an entirely different game.)

What eroges are you playing right now?
Gerard the Lone Wolf replied to Harkoz's topic in Eroge General Talk
Well, the comedy in the common route could be a torture for anyone who doesn't like the humor in Rewrite. Plus, the VN itself is very long, and it has too much random stuff crammed into it, so I understand if people who have less patience for boring things than me were to drop the VN before reaching the awesome part of it. And as for me, the prospect of getting Moon and Terra after slogging through everything is in itself, an epic reward.
