  1. I don't care if it's just for money, I just want to watch it. And if they can make more money, then they'll stay in business and keep making more great games, and anime adaptations too. And it's not like they're just doing anything they can for money - the adaptations are really good (especially the Kyoto Animation ones, but the others are good too, just not as good as KyoAni).
  2. Men feel the same way. We are always in competition with each other whether we want to be or not. That article is mostly true, but that's not all there is to a man's mind. All of the things in that article describe a part of the average man's psyche, but the extent to which it determines how a man thinks and acts varies from man to man. You can't assume that all men are exactly the same. Most men can control themselves, the ones who can't are rapists. I don't know how to respond to this. I guess you're sort of in a position of power because men will change how they act to try to attr
  3. I've never tried that before - I feel like I wouldn't be able to stand it. Now it might be different; I used to know nothing at all about Japanese, but after watching anime for the last year, I can understand a lot of common phrases and I kind of get the sentence structure. So even if the translation is bad, if there are voices I can somewhat understand it. I might give that a try with a Japanese game (but I still have a few translated games to play. If I could understand Japanese I'd have so many games to play I wouldn't have time for anything else.)
  4. Yeah, but lots of people do, and then they get that. It has lots of typos and grammar errors. Each one is something small, nothing like the mistakes in Edelweiss, but more than half the lines in that game have one of those small mistakes. They add up, and my tolerance wears down. Also there was one typo that was pretty funny. They called Gonda-san "Gonad-san" (If you didn't know, testicles and ovaries are gonads).
  5. Yeah, I saw that, too bad for me I can live with it, but it annoys me more than it should. I don't know why, but for some reason spelling and grammar mistakes really annoy me. Especially when it's a product that they expect people to pay money for, it shouldn't be that bad. It's like a they took one look at it and guessed a close meaning, then typed it with a blindfold on. Obviously I couldn't play it at all without their terrible translation, but it still annoys me.
  6. I think they translated a few of the new lines, but yes, the game is downgraded.
  7. That game has so many mistakes in it. It's full of grammatical errors and missing words. When I played it I just thought, "I could have improved this so much if I could edit the scripts." Then the next game I played was Edelweiss and I was horrified by the terrible spelling and grammar. But then I realized that without that terrible spelling and grammar, I'd have no idea what was going on at all. It was very depressing. But I do know just a little bit of German: Ich liebe Sie, OneManArmy!
  8. I think I actually made a mistake. I just remembered something from when I played this. There is a way to see the new routes. When you start a new game without any saves (new installation/move or delete the SAVEDATA folder in the installation directory) you are asked a question: "Do you know the secret of the world?" If you choose 'No' you will play the regular game. If you choose 'Yes' you can play the new routes. The new parts aren't translated, and I never tried to play them, so I forgot about it. If you make this choice, I'm not sure how the routes will play out, or whether there will be h
  9. Yeah, that might even be harder than translating Japanese for me. I don't know anything at all about German. But anyone can give an opinion/advice about the story if you post a summary or something. If anyone makes one in English, I can help.
  10. They were doing the patch for just the regular version first, then they ported it to EX. It was probably easier to leave out the other parts (script linking and such). Also, they probably figured people would rather have an all-English game that leaves out the extra parts rather than a game with Japanese parts popping up every so often. It seems like that's what most people would want to me - after all, they're using the translation patch because they can't understand Japanese. Leaving those parts in wouldn't do much good for most people. Also, the only parts it skips are parts that were added
  11. I haven't ever made or translated a visual novel, but I wish I could. I have ideas that I think would be good, but I don't have the skills to make it happen. I think I could handle the writing, but it wold take a lot of time. As far as programming goes, I think I could do it, especially with something like RenPy. Music is something I can't do, but there's always free (I mean free and legal) music on the internet. The biggest problem is that graphics are very important in a visual novel, and I have no talent whatsoever for art. Also, I don't trust myself to follow through and not lose interest
  12. It was a radio commercial, unfortunately. That's because they only announced that it will be made; nothing further has been decided. They better use Kyoto Animation, the geniuses behind the Air(TV)/Kanon(TV/2006)/Clannad(TV)/After Story(TV) adaptations. They were awesome. That might be part of it, but they were also working on Angel Beats before, and they probably want to space out their projects. I have no problem waiting if it means it'll be done right.
  13. The EX patch doesn't just not translate the new scenes, it leaves them out altogether. You won't be playing it and then get to a part that wasn't in the original and play it in Japanese. You will just not see it at all (mostly).
  14. Wow, you ranked it that highly, and I have played a lot of the other games you voted for; if it's that good compared to those games, it must be really good. Everyone seems to think it's really good (except neptune, but that wasn't even a very negative comment), so now I'm really looking forward to it.
  15. It better live up to that review...
  16. I'm going to play that next too, now I'm looking forward to it.
  17. I've never been to that forum. It's probably someone else who likes fuko and yuri with a similar sig.
  18. Riho and Kanade are the main girls. Rimu and Yayoi have shorter routes.
  19. This is the same with me. Also, when I was little Benadryl (which usually puts you to sleep) made me hyper, but now it doesn't anymore. I'm the same way. I don't read books as often since I got a laptop, but when I do, they're pretty long. This is why I made this topic. VNs really hold my attention better and I wanted to see if other people were the same. I guess I was just wondering. I feel like I've seen that sig before, with Fuko and Yuri, Do you use it somewhere else?
  20. @Slasherturtle: I think understand what you're saying there. I wasn't writing this to complain or anything. I've never felt that it was a negative thing, it's just the way I am, and even though it takes me longer to read a book and I get distracted from things, I kind of like it, I get some good ideas when I'm just thinking, and I can entertain myself when there's nothing to do. I didn't want to complain about ADD or anything; I was mostly just praising visual novels. I was also interested to see if there was anyone else who thought the same way as me. Thanks for replying.
  21. Yeah, that part was a little... I don't even know... Let's just say I'm glad the main character in this one dresses like a man.
  22. Agreed, she looked better with long hair. It's probably supposed to be symbolic because she confronted her past or something like that.
  23. I made a walkthrough that's posted above if you want one: Walkthrough There's one choice where the four options are the four girls; that's where the routes branch off if you use my walkthrough. There's another choice later with the same options, and probably choosing the same girl both times will get you her route, but there are other choices that seem important, so I don't know. If you want to be sure, follow my walkthrough. EDIT: If you've finished one route and you're wondering why it seems the same, the routes aren't very different until a while after the last choice.
  24. I'm hoping the same thing. I watched Nisemonogatari because I liked Bakemonogatari, but this is like, "Here's a little more Bakemonogatari and a whole bunch of fanservice." I don't dislike fanservice or anything, but I don't like that it outweighs the story. Without the fanservice, this would be four episodes. I'm really hoping the Kizumonogatari movie will stick to the story (which would still have a lot of fan service anyway), but from Slasherturtle's comment I'm kind of losing hope... EDIT: Side Note: Who was that at the end (after credits) with the short hair? I think it was
