Lots of lovely updates this week, too. The progress for a lot of these translations has been really good lately (probably because it's the summer now). Air is continuing to rocket along since it moved 4 or 5% from last week, and I/O is nearing completion in the near(ish) future.

Such a tease...Soon Grisaia...soon...

Nice review, doesn't really look like it spoils anything except a wee bit in the character descriptions (but even then it's not bad). Yandere's really not my thing, so I'll avoid it myself, but I'm sure this'll be helpful for people who are interested in a bunch of jealous girls killing a douchebag protag; I suppose there is some catharsis in the act.

I'm a bit split on my opinion. Part of me wants the xbone to do decently as competition is always good for the consumer. The other part of me wants microsoft to suffer for being a bunch of idiots to begin with. Whatever the case, this is good news. Still, leaves a few questions as to how the kinect is used for facial recognition (scares the hell out of me at any rate) and how many features will be available to those living outside the 21 countries previously mentioned. What are you talking about? Haven't you always wanted to buy a console with a camera that is always watching you and t

That's what I was saying earlier; here's the money shot. In hilarious fashion, they were all running on nVidia GTXs, even though the APU for both the xbone and PS4 is a modified AMD. I'd be pretty angry if I was AMD considering Microsoft didn't even bother using their graphics cards for the event.

I do! RTW II will be awesome! Although I didn't really pay attention to it at E3; I had already known about it before then. It looks like there's a a couple of really cool features on top of just improving on RTW I in general.

Only twenty-one countries can actually buy the XB1 at launch, meaning that half the EU won't be supported -.- . Because that makes sense business-wise, right? Not to mention the XB1 is less powerful, more expensive, has a camera always watching you and doesn't allow you to use used games. I also find it funny that not only were the XB1 games not being run on...well an XB1, but were being run on a PC using windows 7. Apparently, even microsoft hates windows 8. Also, here is a court ruling about a thing about publishers legally not being able to stop people from trading in used games, although w

Grisaia ...soon . Yandere's not my thing, but more translations being released certainly isn't a bad thing. And Air is cruising along, too, at a steady pace of 2-2.5% a week. I'm down with that.

Christ that's bad. It needs a lot of editing, me thinks. Also, don't read the bonus while drinking something. It's not a good idea.

I believe it is supposed to be a higher quality translation that what we have right now that was originally done by Amaterasu/ixrec. It was ixrec's first real project that he did, and it sounds like it was a bit over his head as it's a very difficult game to translate. There's also potential speculation that he inflated his progress and it ended up forcing him to rush it towards release at the end. Whatever the case, the current translation is a bit naff and a lot of the humour behind the game is apparently lost (I haven't actually read it as I'm waiting for the re translation, so this is kind

Irotoridori no Sekai is not dead, Air is finally getting updates (and a 5% jump at that), FHA and cross channel are slowly trudging along, Grisaia is probably only a few weeks (or less) away; hell, even I/O got an update. All is well in the world ^.^ . The only sadness comes when you look at the Baldr Sky translation...maybe someday :/

Yo guys, please recommend me some games
Chocolatemilkgod replied to Maoh's topic in Eroge General Talk
Seconded all of those, especially ever17. A couple of other suggestions are, broadly speaking, any mainstream Key visual novel (as in the company Key; they made clannad, too), in particular Little Busters!. The other highly recommended VN is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, a mystery visual novel with very interesting writing (admittedly, I haven't read it, but the anime adaptation made me fall in love, and the VN is supposed to be far superior). Oh, and both of these have no ero content, which is a positive for the story in my books. If you want another RPG game, you could try Kamidori Alche -
Grisaia is so near now, only a little more until it is complete. I thought I saw chat talking about a C&D, but I'll just pass it off as one of desi's inhumane, cruel and morally depraved jokes.

Yes, but then you're in the land of truly tiny probabilities, like: P(MG actually announcing a good game like Tayutama) = ~(10E-10)^4.77E27 (*); an absurdly low number. If you're interested, this is also the probability of all the particles that make up my body moving in such a way to allow me to spontaneously walk through half a metre of concrete. Basically, it's not likely. That said, miracles are known to occasionally happen, and if MG did announce Tayutama, that would make me very happy. *The 10E-10 is a completely made up number. I'm too lazy to actually calculate the probabilit

Nice. I wonder if they're aiming for a partial patch release or if they're skipping that and just going towards a full release. Although, I'd probably just wait for the full release since I read the original LB so I don't mind waiting a little longer for a 'full experience'.

What eroges are you playing right now?
Chocolatemilkgod replied to Harkoz's topic in Eroge General Talk
Spoiler wall Spoiler wall Spoiler wall Spoiler wall Spoiler wall [spoiler=Obvious Muv Luv Alternative Spoiler]The hesitation was an amalgamation of human emotions he was feeling; killing one of your best friends will be hard, fullstop. The fact that Takeru actually pulls it off is a testament to how his character grew over the course of the story. It wouldn't have felt real at all if he just pulled the trigger straight away. Oh, and I'm sorry since I'm sort of helping to hijack this thread. Hooray! -

Chocolatemilkgod replied to Harkoz's topic in Eroge General Talk
Bitchiness of early Takeru Done and done. I think the shitty pacing and the fact you had to play through the other two games in the series were much more damning than Takeru's minor issues. Moreover, he actually gets somewhere and becomes pretty awesome (although completely and utterly blind to any approach by a girl, but whatever). -
Interesting, has there ever been any other visual novels on steam before, or is it a first? I guess that explains how they'll be 'reaching a wider audience', although I'm not sure why they had to remove some of the other adult content besides the actual H scenes. Something like the Witcher 2 on PC handles some dark topics; I wouldn't have thought a few 'dirty jokes' would have had to have been removed. I mean, I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but...

Finished Kanon, and I'm extremely happy with it. I found the game very relaxing and enjoyable, and, while I have my favourites, there isn't really a route I 'disliked' as such. My only misgiving is that Sayuri should have had a fully fleshed out route. Instead, it was sort of like: [spoiler=Kanon]So Sayuri, why do you use keig... INFODUMP!!! That said, I enjoyed the mini route, and Sayuri's character made me go Awww~~ a lot. What can I say? I'm totally helpless against her adorableness. This is yet another game that I'd love to do a review for, but I'm just so busy with crap at the mom

Note: I didn't say that the H-scenes were any good, all I said is that they helped sell copies. I think it's great that there's a localisation company just focused on all-age titles (since this implies that the VNs will have some semblence of a story and won't just basically be porn), but I'm just worried that the rest of the community won't agree and they won't get many sales...I hope I'm wrong about this, since more translations are always good (bar machine translations, but that is non-applicable here). In addition, it was really great that they actually took time to talk the the community

Key is pretty much the only company that can pull this off...and they do considerably better with H-scenes still anyway. There's a reason they released an H-version of Little busters and why that sold better than the original, and possibly one reason why rewrite didn't sell as much as it probably should have. Me personally, I don't care too much about H (I suppose I'd rather have them in as long as they don't interfere with the story), but having H definitely sells more copies. Not a great start for these guys, I can only hope that they recover from this since more localization can't be bad.

Probably, Muv Luv Alternative is still my favourite. Those characters, the action, the story... so many different parts cohesively came together to create an 'epic' story. Then, my second and third favourites are probably Little Busters and Ever17, respectively. My opinions may change as I have yet to read some of the big titles yet (G-senjou, Higurashi/Umineko, Saya, YU-NO and a few others), but his is how it stands now. Also, excited for LB EX translation.

Is there an Eroge similar to Little Busters! ?
Chocolatemilkgod replied to Cosmiccathorse's topic in Eroge General Talk
How far into it did you get, and which route did you play? 'Cause if you played Chihaya's route then, that might explain where the lacklustre feelings came from; I suggest you try it again at a later date, maybe? Up to you (play Lucia's route Has anyone suggested Ever17 yet? One of my personal favourites, and the build up to the true route is stupendous; it's sort of a sci-fi/mystery VN. My only advice is to use the skip button liberally, and to not be afraid to quickly skim read through similar text that you've read before. I'm recommending it on the basis that you liked the story and -
[Seiha] Little Witch Romanesque Kickstarter Project
Chocolatemilkgod replied to sanahtlig's topic in Eroge News
In theory, yes, he could have just used donations. But using kickstarter makes it easy to see how much money has been raised without the potential for cooking the books (it's unlikely that Aroduc would do that, but using kickstarter probably makes people feel more at ease). It's also easier to raise the money and to garner attention through kickstarter as opposed to a little donation button on his blog. Even though the kickstarter was stopped, it will be a lot easier to re-raise the money afterwards just using donations as just about everyone and their cat who keeps up with visual novels kn -

Ah ballocks. I thought they might get hit with the 'intellectual property' copyright issue soon... There goes our speculating about using this as a method for fan translations in the future, then.
