So like...Chaos;Head? I don't know, I think that's the only game I've played where the protagonist literally can't do ANYTHING useful.

Amen to that! I hate shounen romance shows where nothing actually happens. The offense is only worse if it's a long one like Ranma(not that there's anything wrong with Ranma, but as a romance show it's.....not really a romance show)

Not an eroge, but I just finished Ever17. Great game(I think it's one of my top 3, despite its shortcomings). My only complaints are that the authors dealt too heavily with concepts they didn't fully understand and/or internalize.

That's my parents, all the way. They believe that masturbation is sinful, sex before marriage is sinful, and that looking at porn is also sinful. Ugh, my mom once found some cached porn on the family computer and confronted me about it. I denied it to the end, but she ended up in tears. Looking back on it she's pretty emotionally manipulative.

I'm sure you'll get more sympathy here than you would elsewhere, but I would tend to agree with you. The nice thing about the Eroge industry is that even big-name studios like Key still tend to be fairly small. If you were to import eroge a decent amount of money would go to the distributor, but a higher-than-average percentage of money would also go to the developers. This is of course out of necessity, as the demand for eroge is low(As compared to manga, for instance), and the amount of money floating around in the industry is similarly low. Japan tends to be a particularly sick offender

I play the visual novel, and ignore the anime. In my mind, Visual Novel > Manga > Anime when it comes to story depth and overall enjoyment. Of course I'd rather experience the original, so in the case of Ai Yori Aoshi I'd read the manga, while in the case of Spice and Wolf I'd go for the light novels if possible(Although the Spice and Wolf anime was amazing)

Hmm, I've been wanting to buy the Phoenix Wright games, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Generally speaking I don't support Mangagamer or Jast just because I'm kinda prejudiced against them for ruining several good fan translations, but I would definitely consider importing games if I had a better cash inflow and/or didn't have to worry about legal issues getting it shipped over state borders.

Hear, hear! Well I do like the art style of Otome games, but if you're in it for the story I think regular VNs are the way to go.

I agree with this. The area I live in is particularly reactionary, so I haven't even told my closest friends that I'm cool with loli. Of course I have so many other fetishes that it's basically irrelevant, and the only reason I'd be telling someone would be to get a reaction out of them....screw that. I do have one friend that knows, because I got him into eroge starting with Saya no Uta, and we don't talk about it but it's implicitly understood in our relationship.

I wouldn't mind Tsundere if they followed more of a classical model. Kinda like Asuka, it'd be nice if they'd be cold and pretend not to care, but have a real reason why they do it and not go out of their way to beat up the protag for no reason. I feel like modern tsundere(I'm looking at you taiga!) are just bipolar tropes with no real substance to them besides their "tsundere" caricature.
