never knew why Myurieru tried to turn you all into stone, or why you fought her

at all.

And Downy jumps in front of you when you're about to get hit by a ghost =O, he

also stops you from turning yourself into stone =O.

That part was probably lost in translation. Or a convenient ass-pull. Flame wars and heavy debates raged in vndb about this part when I read Hoshimemo's discussion tab, trying to look for answers as you're doing right now.

My opinion is, his mom's probably in the stars after she died or something. Or whatever. She's got "powers". How she got it, how she did what she did to You, how he went back in time, let's just leave that to Favorite and how they wrote it, or to Staircase Subs if they left something out/lost the meaning in the process of translation

And I wanted Shirou to redeem himself from being a pussyfag back in Fate, but I guess it falls flat of my expectations. I couldn't really enjoy the "identity twist" since my baka imouto spoiled it to me (she's watched the anime already, that bitch). Is HF worth the read? Not a big fan of Sakura though, she's too deredere for me. I would have preferred an Ilya loli route...

Done with Fate/Stay Night. I just need my CG completion and Bad Endings. Anyway, how do I get the last CG on the 3rd gallery page of Heaven's Feel? I've done both Normal and True endings for Realta Nua's Last Episode and I still don't have that CG unlocked.

 

Thoughts: First of all, the explanations kill the story. The concept was solid, the characters are memorable even if you would despise their actions, the BGMs are somehow well-suited (I don't like the one on the H-Scenes though). In terms of scope, it's great. It's quite long (I have mine on 3 days 13 hours, but that's also counting a few hours I fell asleep in front of the laptop from fatigue). The routes.. Well, I don't like Sakura as a heroine. That's my personal opinion and if it insults anyone here, I apologize in advance. Rin FTW.

 

If only there was an Ilya route.

A mayadere: the only kind of girl more adorable than a tsundere IMO.

 

Overall, I liked it, but it doesn't sway me as much as my past favorites. It's hard to like Shirou, even if he's got a few badass moments. I only liked him during HF's normal end but Sakura in the epilogue killed the mood. A 9 from me. Muv-Luv Alternative is pretty much hard to beat in my #1 spot but Clannad is coming up.

I had Ever17 installed on my laptop for almost 6 months but didn't have time to play it. Now that i finally had enough time i'm very happy i played it.

Storywise it's probably the best i've seen so far and a couple of the soundtracks (karma and der mond das meer+the lullaby) were awesome. After seeing the ratings from vndb and the good and bad ending from tsugumi route my expectations for the rest of the VN were maybe a LITTLE too high and i couldn't enjoy the 3 other routes as much as i wanted, even though especially sora and sara's routes were pretty good. But then the true route came and saved my day. Ever17 is so far the 2nd story that has made me cry (the 1st being Clannad anime), and i have to say that is really something.

 

Too bad there was one thing that i didn't like in the true ending route: there wasn't really any kind of climax phase in the story. If there was, it would be that one heartwarming scene (i'm not gonna spoil anything), but it was far too early. I waited and waited for some über ending to pop up but it didn't and i was quite a bit dissappointed.

 

Nevertheless, Ever17 deserves a place in my top 3 VN rankings. With a better ending it would have easily been #1, but even with the current ending it gets to share the 2nd place with FSN.

 

That being said, i DEMAND that the company that made the xbox version of Ever17 last year make a PC version out of it. The opening of that version is totally out of this world and it seems there are even some new scenes and CG in it.

To be true, I skipped three routes completely (Berio's, Nanashi's and Rico's). Berio's, Kaede's, Nanashi's and Rico's routes only are preparations and explanations for Lily's and Mia's route. Lily's route is much more extensive than the routes before and there's much more story. Mia's route is completely different than Lily's, but I liked Lily's route more. And the harem route was completely different too, but it was definitely the best route of the game

 

The negative points of the game: Chapter 1 to 3 is completely equal for each character after you've cleared Berio's and Kaede's route and chapter 4 to 7 is nearly the same too. In the end you can skip nearly 90% of the text from chapter 1 to 7 after clearing Kaede's and Berio's route. And yeah, you can't skip battles, which makes the whole thing really bad. From chapter 8 on the story is different in each route.

The next thing I have to criticize is the variation of the endings ... after you've cleared two routes you somehow know how each route will end.

 

The best thing in the whole game: LILY!
