OneManArmy Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 soul link forced me to read walkthrough have to restart chapter 1 because i dont take walkie talkie with me I needed a walktrough for those "where should I walk to" parts. Quote
evenlaist Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I needed a walktrough for those "where should I walk to" parts. Oh yeah, that one too. Seriously that game has too many bad ends Quote
Crimson Moon Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I got like ten or so bad endings playing Soul link. This game was a real pain but i made it through.(once but still) Quote
Hgames Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I do not use a walkthrough as for me they seem to take the fun out of the game, although on occasions I use a walkthrough for games with lots of bad endings but only after 1 or 2 playthroughs on my own. Quote
Masao Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I've played Tsukihime, F/sn and Soul link with a walkthrough and it wasn't bad. I think it depends on the game. Quote
Wanderer Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I generally prefer to use walkthroughs, since it allows me to relax and enjoy every nuance of the story without fretting about wrong choices. Quote
higguy Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 i play the vn once without a walkthought , then i play it using a walkthought. been doing this since i starts playing vns Quote
ultimecea Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 if you are talking bout epics vn... then yes... i strictly follows the walkthrough.. but if its just normal or newly translated ones.. i just go my own way~~ Quote
Lanselot Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I use them for complex Galges or for unfair ones. Like, let's say you are given three options, A, B and C. Only C is the good one, but it's impossible to know so unless you have already played the Galge, so I use a walkthrough. Quote
Gerard the Lone Wolf Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) It depends on the circumstances. I didn't use walkthrough when I play Yume Miru Kusuri, Family Project, Captive Market, and a bunch of nukige VNs. But I did use it for G-Senjou no Maou, Bible Black and Sengoku Rance. udizzle Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 only used a walkthrough once so far and it was to get that elusive Otome Ending in School Days, for the other vn i just go back to my last save point at the choice i want to take back =p Quote
radiantmadness Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 yeah since I played kara no shoujo I do that for most (I quit, and would never have found the envelope weren't it for the walkthrough), I notice that enhancing the experience for me. Quote
Virsia Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 well it's better to play without anything to begin with, justt me the game and laptop, unless when i want 100% completion... Quote
udizzle Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 well it's better to play without anything to begin with, just me the game and laptop, unless when i want 100% completion... Exactly, the first time through should be your own Quote
phantasm Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 The only two VNs i use walkthrough are- dacapo(where to find what character is confusing) and 999:nine person, nine hours, nine doors(I got all bad endings and still doesn't reach true ending so i have no choice but to use walkthrough) Other than that,I play without walkthrough, Quote
VNHunter Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 depends on the VN... If the VN's choices are predictable or it has few choices... Then I don't need those walkthrough... If the VN has tons of choices or a route order is needed to unlock certain things, I'll go for a walkthrough... Example: Clannad Quote
Helvetica Standard Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I required a walkthrough for FSN and Chaos;Head. While it's very easy to stumble across many of FSN's 40 bad ends it's also quite hard to get Chaos;Head bad end without any help XD... Otherwise i just play it by trial and error.. Quote
OneManArmy Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 FSN's 40 bad ends It makes no sense to avoid f/sn's bad ends though, they were so freakin enjoyable. Quote
Virsia Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 It makes no sense to avoid f/sn's bad ends though, they were so freakin enjoyable. well i certainly dun know fate stay night that much but i think thats the whole point there is bad endings, especially for us the fans of vn, well just try to imagine or recall that moment (if you have any) when you can say "finally, i get it" when you finally get your good ending or even true ending without someone tip you off. "believe me all of that night.... that time..... that frustration and all effort you put into it will be rewarded" Quote
OneManArmy Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I personally enjoyed the bad endings because of shirou's deaths. Fuck, I hate this character so much. Quote
iLoveTsundere Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 so much hate on Gaymiya Shirou...oh wait. Quote
Virsia Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 so much hate on Gaymiya Shirou...oh wait. ohh well i never play vn version but i do watch anime, he kinda have it coming gaymiya is one way to pull it instead of emiya Quote
Helvetica Standard Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 It makes no sense to avoid f/sn's bad ends though, they were so freakin enjoyable. I dread the bad ends more than anything else- Quote
